Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

David Phillips can keep 'POOFTER' license plates

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Nov 20, 2007 at 21:15:00 PM EST

I just received an email from David Phillips, who you may know from his notoriety for disclosing the horrible exploitative encounter he had with Senator Larry Craig back in the 80s.

He also made the news for the absurd treatment he received from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles when it recalled his license plates for "obscenity." Somehow "POOFTER" must have become obscene overnight as Phillips has had the plates for 11 years before it hit the DMV radar.
The commonwealth of Virginia is not amused. It gave Phillips his vanity plates in error, Carolyn Easley, coordinator of the special license plates office, wrote in a recent letter. "You may have grown fond of your personalized plates," but they are "socially, racially or ethnically offensive or disparaging" and "you must return them."
Well someone reversed that thinking because David won the right to keep them:
This morning the Virginia DMV notified me by phone that I can keep my POOFTER plates.  This after I returned directly to the head of the DMV the generic plates supplied with their hate letter, along with correspondence indicating my dedication to my First Amendment rights to self-identify in terms that meets no reasonable test for obscenity. I look forward to receiving the DMV's written apology for this incident.

New Acronyms
With the new communication, TEXTING, I wonder when the licence plate people will begin to use the CATMS to figure out what other plates might be offensive.

  Some in the acronym world have this;

AAAAA=American Association Against Acronym Abuse

Go look at some of the licence plates on cars, see if there is a hidden message.

Porno Pete's tag could be:FOL LB?W/C,  if it fits.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Offensive

At the risk of sounding like a prig, I think the State of Virginia was correct when it initially pulled his ability to use the license plate, although it was probably done because of the publicity than for the correct reasons.   Plainly put, his license plate is offensive in that it uses a disparaging term for gay people.  Never mind that he, himself, is gay.  Imagine the reaction is some jerk sprayed that on his car, or made his plate look like that.  This is the major flaw in logic for people who think that using epithets is the same as disarming them.  One also removes one's argument against their use in hatred.

Also...
With a vanity plate like that one, and the way his story reads, I wonder how valid his story really is.  It seems a little to Penthouse Forum for me.

Oh no...

I'm sure it's legit. You don't get the moniker "Bear About Town" without doing much of it. I think this is the second time I've seen him with a shirt on. I'm surprised he hasn't gotten a "WDERCVR" tag--that's much more accurate. Aww, I kid! He's a sweet guy.

This one's not near as bad as another VA plate that read "WHIZPIG". Water sports queen I used to know quite some time ago--she drove a gold colored PT Cruiser. Ewww! Mine's a VA bowling tag with "BTTRNU". Harmless, however messed up. Wanted "BETRNU", but the stupid online store wouldn't allow it.

Curses! My million dollar ideas foiled again: "God Bless Your Brand!" http://www.christvertising.com/

GAYVET
That's the plate I just got, in the wake of them demanding his plates back.  They sent it this time.  2 years ago I applied for it and was denied due to the profanity rules.

Very cool!

Congratulations.  I bet you get lots of honks and waves with that one.

I have to say, though, I wouldn't want to be the one deciding which vanity plates get the okay, and which don't.  Can you imagine some of the nasty requests they must get?  And the fear that something really objectionable will slip through?   Where do you draw the line?

I might smile at a DYKE plate, but does that mean FLTHY DYKE would be just fine?  And let's not even get into all the ethnic stuff.

Well I got a pat on the back

From a co-worker that I though t was prety phobic.  Basically he said, "Damn' you got balls.  I gotta give you props for that"  Then gave me the advice to stay in Northern VA and not to venture too much further south.  To which I replied "they can get over it."

 Here's my plate.

Context is everything.

No, the state would not have been correct in pulling the license plate, precisely <i>because</i> he was gay.

When I was living in Connecticut several decades ago, I saw a CT plate with the legend "RUGAY2"  Apparently, no problem there and then, even when the "then" was the 1970s.

[ Parent ]
Aha! I get it.

That would be kind of like corrective eyewear requirements on your drivers license, right?

One could have vanity plates with words or messages widely presumed to be derogatory, only as long as the driver of the vehicle with said plates belonged to the group being disparaged (and, by golly, could prove it!).  Hence, I could have BULL DYKE plates, but would be unable to lend my vehicle to anyone with a penis, for instance.  No wait, maybe there'd be an exception for various trans situations?  Gosh, it gets so confusing.

==============================================

Hey, honey, look.  Did you know our new neighbor was a bull dyke?

Henry, please don't use that kind of language around the children.  That's not the way we want them to think about other people.

Jeesus

What part of GAYVET was deemed to be obscene?  Must be a whole different definition of obscene that they're working with.  I can't even see how that's vaguely offensive.

ALLY (ALLIE) (transitive) To connect or form a relation between by similitude, resemblance, friendship, or love.

That's what I wanted to know
2 years ago, but I got it now.
