Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Blogmistress slice and dice day: see you all on the other side...

by: Pam Spaulding

Thu Dec 27, 2007 at 08:00:00 AM EST

Today's the big day I've been looking forward to and dreading at the same time -- the flipping gall bladder removal (cholecystectomy).

As you can see, I've configured my Yahoo PHB Blogmistress Avatar in "accessories" and a setting appropriate for the fun occasion.

If there are no complications that result in switching from laproscopic to open surgery, I'll only be in the hospital overnight -- my lovely wife Kate will stay over with me. At this ambulatory hospital they wheel you out to the curb by 9AM the next day if you're an overnighter.

Anyway, we have to get there today by 9:15 AM, with the slicing and dicing to begin at 10:45. They estimate it will take an hour, more or less, for the operation itself. After that, who knows how long I'll be too out of it to blog, but you know I'll have something up if at all possible, since, well, I'm nuts. I have to remember to ask the surgeon to save the stone(s) for me.

On a relevant political point before I sign off, thank goodness I have health insurance that covers this. Not 100%, but it's a sad state of affairs that one is dependent on one's employer to have decent coverage, particularly if you have pre-existing conditions. Feel free to use the thread to gripe on the state of health care in this country.

If you're one of my Facebook friends, you'll probably hear from me there first, since it requires less energy to post a status update over the cell phone.

You all will be in good hands with the Blend contributors...miss you all already.

And last but not least, many thanks to all of you who've emailed, commented, or written on my FB Wall for the kind get-well-soon wishes. Folks have even passed along thoughts/advice about their GB surgery experiences -- they have boosted my spirits, which is helpful, since I've felt increasingly lousy for the last week or so, and it helps me see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The Blend Facebook group's here, if you want to join, btw:

Wishing you the best.
See you when you get back.  HUGGS from all my family.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Dear Fellow Blenders!

Not to long ago I had a chat with Pam about fund raising for The Blend. While Pam has no problem with raising money for Russ or Jim Neil (both good guys) she has this real perverse quirk for asking for money to support such a worthy endeavor. I, on the other hand, am not so demure. Today I was thinking about sending Pam some flowers at the hospital with a get well note but then I realized that THERE IS A FRIGGING

PAYPAL BUTTON OVER THERE <-----------.

So I am sending Pammy a little get well sugar and hope that all those out there that haven't thought about it or were thinking about some other thing,  will remember that

GREEN goes with EVERYTHING.

Merry Christmas, Kwanzaa and New Year you wacky Blenders and get well soon Pam!

(with all best wishes and a big thank you to Kate for taking care of our girl:))

our thoughts are with you
hope all goes well Pam...I'm sure you will be up and blogging in no time!

Get Well Soon
Hope everything goes smoothly - when my aunt had her GB surgery, she was one of those people who was driving as soon as she was released, and was back to her schedule in nothing flat. Hope you're the same :)

Best wishes
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery, Pam!

Best Wishes for quick surgery and Speedy Recovery
PLUS you'll feel alot better without the stones filled Gall Bladder. I had my GB removed in Dec 2003 as a "23 Hour Patient" and very thankful my employer insurance, Blue Cross/Blue Shield covered the entire bill.

Best wishes Pam - we need you

I hope your operation goes smoothly & quickly!

Thinking of you

Best news I've heard all day.

OK, that's not saying much.

(I hope that doesn't make you laugh.)

love ya!

[ Parent ]
good to hear it
enjoy the pain meds, rest up and hope you are ready to pour up another cup soon!

Good luck!
I hope your surgery went well.  Doug (my partner) had a surgical procedure done a couple of months ago.  We had a whole conversation afterwards and even walked into a store.  The next day he couldn't remember a thing about what we said or the store visit!  So hopefully you won't remember anything from the surgery...

good luck pam
and get well soon!

"blogtopia - yes! i coined that phrase!"

Jeez Pam, don't say "see you on the other side"
Around this neck of the woods "see you on the other side" means "see you in hell!"

gall bladder surgery

Pam,

You're in my thoughts and I'm sending positive healing vibes your way. I had my gall bladder out about two or three years ago. It was worth the few days of pain to avoid having another hellish gall bladder attack. I hope the same is true for you.

Happy New Year,

Michael
