The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Huck's fundie wave causes panic attack in the GOP country club set

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Jan 01, 2008 at 06:00:00 AM EST

I just had a chance to review Sunday's Meet the Press transcript with GOP clown car occupant, rapist/murderer-releasing Baptist minister-without-a-theology-degree Mike Huckabee, and he simply can't help embarrassing the conservative mainstream as he lamely defends or attempts to gloss over his outlandish bible-beating, homophobic, misogynistic utterances and writings.

Tim Russert brought this nugget up:

MR. RUSSERT:  Peggy Noonan, a woman of faith who writes for The Wall Street Journal, said that sometimes it appears your philosophy is "This is what God wants," and that doesn't encourage discussion, it squelches it.  And, and this is what you wrote in your book, "Kids Who Kill," in 1998:  "It is now difficult to keep track of the vast array of publicly endorsed and institutionally supported aberrations--from homosexuality and pedophilia to sadomasochism and necrophilia." Why would you link homosexuality with sadomasochism, pedophilia and necrophilia?

GOV. HUCKABEE:  Well, what I was pointing out is all of these are deviations from what has been the traditional concept of sexual behavior and men and women having children, raising those children in the context of a, of a traditional marriage and family.  And, again, taken out of the larger context of that book, speaking about how so many of our social institutions have been broken down.

MR. RUSSERT:  But do you think homosexuality is equivalent to pedophilia...

GOV. HUCKABEE:  Oh, of course not.

MR. RUSSERT:  ...or sadomasochism?

GOV. HUCKABEE:  No, of course not.  I didn't say...

MR. RUSSERT:  But this is what concerns people.  This, this is what you did say about homosexuality:  "I feel homosexuality is an aberrant, unnatural and sinful lifestyle." That's millions of Americans.

GOV. HUCKABEE:  Tim, understand, when a Christian speaks of sin, a Christian says all of us are sinners.  I'm a sinner, everybody's a sinner.  What one's sin is, means it's missing the mark.  It's missing the bull's eye, the perfect point.  I miss it every day; we all do.  The perfection of God is seen in a marriage in which one man, one woman live together as a couple committed to each other as life partners.  Now, even married couples don't do that perfectly, so sin is not some act of equating people with being murderers or rapists...

Neato. Keep it coming, Huck. After the flip, he tries to explain his beliefs about whether one can be born gay, and you can read about Wall Street's reaction to the former Arkansas governor's rise -- and their attempt to ensure his fall in the primaries.
Pam Spaulding :: Huck's fundie wave causes panic attack in the GOP country club set
MR. RUSSERT:  But when you say aberrant or unnatural, do you believe you're born gay or you choose to be gay?

GOV. HUCKABEE:  I don't know whether people are born that way.  People who are gay say that they're born that way.  But one thing I know, that the behavior one practices is a choice.  We may have certain tendencies, but how we behave and how we carry out our behavior.

This is the kind of stuff that gives conservatives agita, not the fundies, but the mainstream GOP-ers who have slept in the bed with these extremists and can't quite figure out why they are scratching themselves raw over this -- they've come up with millions of blood-sucking fundamentalist fleas led by the grand poobah, Mike Huckabee.

Wall Streeters are having a conniption over the rise of rapist/murderer-releasing Baptist minister-without-a-theology-degree Mike Huckabee.

The former Arkansas governor has surged in Republican presidential-preference polls, winning the support of Christian fundamentalists while peppering his campaign rhetoric with jabs at the financial industry. He calls himself the candidate who isn't a ``wholly owned subsidiary'' of investment banks, decries large executive-pay packages and says the party needs to shift its focus from Wall Street to Main Street.

...``Huckabee puts this long-simmering feud between the social-conservative wing and the country-club and business crowd into starker contrast,'' said Stuart Rothenberg, publisher of the nonpartisan Rothenberg Political Report in Washington.

Polls show Huckabee, 52, leading in the first Republican electoral contest, the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses. In national polls, he is within striking distance of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

In fact, the folks with the moneybags are mounting efforts against Huck.
The Club for Growth, a Washington-based group that advocates tax and spending cuts, has mounted a campaign against Huckabee in Iowa and South Carolina, which holds its Republican primary on Jan. 19. The group said Dec. 14 it is doubling advertising purchases and urged taxpayers to call Huckabee and challenge him on his tax policy.

...The Wall Street Journal editorial page has repeatedly attacked Huckabee in recent weeks, and the National Review magazine warned Republicans against committing ``Huckacide.''

(The NR, btw, endorsed serial flip-flopper Mitt Romney, so go figure.) You asked for fundie support, you just don't want fundie leadership. It really doesn't help that Huck has fundraising friends like Steve Hotze, who signed a manifesto that includes such beliefs as:
* A wife may work outside the home only with her husband's consent
* "Biblical spanking" that results in "temporary or superficial bruises or welts" should not be considered a crime
* No doctor shall provide medical service on the Sabbath
Physicians should preach to their patients because salvation is the key to their health
I would love to see Huck campaign manager Ed Rollins publicy defend these crazies and report whether the creationist prez candidate subscribes to these views.

Give me polygamy or give me death!
Huckabee:
There’s never been a civilization that has rewritten what marriage and family means and survived.

what has been the traditional concept of sexual behavior and men and women having children, raising those children in the context of a, of a traditional marriage and family

The perfection of God is seen in a marriage in which one man, one woman live together as a couple committed to each other as life partners.

But just for the sake of argument, let's see what God has to say on the matter... http://www.biblicalpolygamy.com/

This site has 40 examples of polygamy in the Bible. There’s a chart at the bottom of each page which lists them all. I’ve plugged a few into BibleGateway and so far they’ve come up legit. A couple examples:

Gideon, A judge of Israel, “And Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten: for he had many wives.” Judges 8:30

Abijah, A king of Judah, 14 Wives, "But Abijah waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters." 2 Chronicles 13:21

It's almost like some sort of a God conundrum that can't ever be solved...Autie Em, Auntie Em..I'm frightened Auntie Em..

Welcome to Idiot America
The very fact that this white trash is even leading any polls other than head jesus freak shows, yet again, what an idiot nation we are now. If by some fluke this asshole gets into the WH, I am leaving the US for good. I have no idea where I am going but I will just escape this madness.

I hope cHuckabee gets the nomination
I sincerely hope that cHuckabee gets the nomination. The fundie xtian insanity needs to be brought out in the open so the entire country can take off their blinders and see them for what they are. After a few months of campaigning, even the least informed would have to see the truth of what they all are.

And just WTF is up
And just WTF is up with this "debate" about whether or not people are born gay? Oh yeah, oine day I woke up and found myself bored so I said to myself, "I think I'll spice things up by making my life just about as miserable as I can possibly imagine it being, short of being on fire I'll become transgendered and really take shit from society". Or maybe I was motivated by Barney Frank's theory that all I really wanted to do was get myself the opportunity to use womens' restrooms so I can satisfy the voyeur in me. Can these people be any more stupid?

Rep. Frank

has begun calling transgender people "people with transgender". Listen in to his recent radio appearances. It's obviously calculated - unless he's going to start calling folks like him "people who have the gay".

A man that smart doesn't use language without purpose.

Nope.
Can these people be any more stupid?
At least I hope not...

My America includes LGBT families.

Don't tell anybody I said this....
but, if Huck is the GOP nom - I'll vote dem.  Ditto Romney

It's been quite a long time..

since I was an altar boy - but I seem to remember St. Paul holding marriage to not be perfection. It was not preferred - celibacy was perfection. Heterosexual marriage was an unwelcome distraction from God and perfection. A degradation and distraction from God.

But - why should anyone listen to St. Paul? St. Huckleberry has his new revelation. :Sigh: If only St. Huckleberry had followed God's path there be one more dog alive and untortured. And the world would be a much safer place for doughnuts from the looks of his progeny.

"But I would have you to be without solicitude. He that is without a wife is solicitous for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please God. But he that is with a wife, is solicitous for the things of the world, how he may please his wife: and he is divided. And the unmarried woman and the <!--QR49-->virgin thinketh on the things of the Lord, that she may be <!--QR76-->holy both in body and <!--QR76--><!--stripped-->spirit. But she that is <!--stripped-->married thinketh on the things of this world how she may please her husband. And this I speak for your profit, not to cast a snare upon you, but for that which is decent and which may give you power to attend upon the Lord without <!--QR79-->impediment. (1 Corinthians 7:7-8 and 32-35)"

Elmer Gantry mates with Elmer Fudd = Mike Huckapoo

the man is certifiable.  but even Timmeh didnt quite call him on his bullshit enough.  i would like to give this country more credit --- and not think they would want this trailer trash huckster as the man with his hands on the buttons (well then again look at what we have)

who knows -- stranger things have happened.  Laura Bush actually thinks she is Phyllis Diller

The Hucksterbee

In a nutshell Hucksterbee hands us just how skewed his brand of so-called Christianity is. He can babble on and on about how 'all of us are sinners', but the bottom line is they've singled out homosexuality as a worse sin than all the others, including murder. The consistant beating of the 'homosexual agenda' drum to stir up the sheeple is the political football that works the best for them at this time.

If I believed people wouldn't actually be taken in by his ridiculous rhetoric, I'd say I hope he gets the nom---surely the American people won't be fooled by Hucksterbee! He's laughable. A joke. But then I remember how our current Fearless Leader managed to stay in office for eight years. No thanks. There are too many peopple willing to be led by the nose for vague promises of an afterlife of pillowy clouds and awful Christian rock.

"In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move."

Douglas Adams - 'The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy'

The Joke ain't funny no' mo'
Hucky would be a laughing stock if it were not so scary that he could actually have a shot at winning the WH. Let me just tell you coastal and blue staters on here...Hillary cannot win dog catcher down here in Jesusland aka Dumbfuckistan. She could not even get elected to the sewer/water board. Hucky could take some red states, folks.

Really getting tired

I'm really getting tired of the regional bigotry that is omnipresent in the left blogosphere. I don't spend any time on the red blogs but I have to believe that they employ the same kind of unfounded rhetoric about the northeast. I, unlike you am from Texas and I, unlike you am aware that you can't judge the state by the chimp, (who is about as Texan as the pope), or by the standards in Dallas/Fort Worth, which BTW has the only bible outlet mall I've ever seen just south of there. The Hill Country is nothing like DFW nor is Houstopolis and there were many new blue counties after 06. The Democratic representation in the Congress was almost double the republican representation prior to DeLay's illegal redistricting which would indicate that Texas voters are not nearly as right wing as the traditional media, (owned by the republican party), would have you believe.

When have you ever seen me make an ad homenim attack on Maine over the fact that Bush spent at least as much time there as he did in Texas? When have I ever tried to assert that since Bush was born in Connecticut that the state must be home to inbred hicks? I mean "Dumbfuckistan"? WTF is up with that and how is that warrented? You sound like you are there against your will but it must not be so atrocious that being polluted by the presence of all of the dumbfucks doesn't overwhelm your carreer choices.

I like you and I respect you and I always have but regional bigotry is still bigotry and it is axiomatic that the liberals in this state.... at it's very reddest ....far exceed the total number of liberals in Massachusettes. With those numbers, I have to question the wisdom of you seemingly being determined to piss us all off.

And might I add...

I hear ya Margaret!

And might I add that Austin, the CAPITAL of TEXAS, is a very progressive, very gay friendly (voted over 80% AGAINST the anti-gay marriage amendment), artistic, gorgeous and FABULOUS city!
