The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Open Clinton Mouth, Insert Clinton Foot

by: Autumn Sandeen

Okay, this is just too easy a non-cheap shot not to point out.

Hillary Clinton at Saturday's Democratic debate:

Hillary ClintonWords are not action. As beautifully presented and passionately felt as they are, they are not action. What we've got to do is translate talk into action and feeling into reality. I have a long record of doing that.
So, the vote on authorizing military action in Iraq...the vote that predicated the Iraq War...the vote for that war that Sen. Clinton has never apologized for...

Yeah, I guess that vote wasn't words alone; it's just part of Sen. Clinton's "long record" of "action."

Alright, I'll stop with the easy shots now --  but c'mon. It was a ridiculous statement for her to make in light of her own Iraq War vote. There are a lot of progressive military veterans like me who strongly believe that the United States' Iraq War invasion was a huge mistake, and her refusal to say her vote for authorizing the U.S. invasion of Iraq was a mistake continues to be a mistake.

NOTE FROM PAM: The NH meltdown continues for Hillary:
* CNN/USAToday/Gallup: Obama 41% Clinton: 28%
* Rasmussen: Obama 39% Clinton 27%
* CNN/WMUR: Obama 39% Clinton 29%

Yeah, kinda dumb statement

I think that she might have been feeling a bit dogged at that point.  There are lots of examples in history where a passionate speech has precipitated action.

'Course, I have always thought that her speeches were pretty awful.  Monotone presentation broken up occasionally with bits that make me feel that I am being harangued.

Nice pic Autumn.

On a more lively note, and being the zombie that I am: Brains, delicious brains!

Hrm
Quite a stretch.  And, especially with the picture, would be a cheap shot if it came close to landing.  Really, though, this is about the least substantive thing posted here in a long time.  It just reads as bitter.

Hillary On Action
Have to agree on the picture.  All the freeper sites use it, too.  And the post.  Kind of a reach.  She carries the chains of her votes on her like Marley's ghost.  Those won't go away and will not be forgotten.  Nonetheless, I thought she did fine last night.  Edwards soared.  Obama was overcautious.

What? No photoshopped bags under her eyes?
Are you guys going to rotate unflattering photos and slam pieces of all the candidates at the top of PHB every day?  Or just slap at Clinton from here on out?

We've slapped at all the Dem frontrunners.

We've posted articles on PHB commenting on all three Dem top tier candidates. Pam has written about Sen. Obama's Donnie McClurkin debacle (and promoted The Bilerico Project post on it), and about Sen. Edwards' faith excuse for not supporting marriage equality. Pam also slammed both Obama and Clinton on the question of whether being gay was immoral after Peter Pace declared homosexuality immoral and incompatible with military service. She slammed Edwards for his for his turning Ann Coulter's "faggot" comment into a fund-raising moment instead of responding to Coulter's comment by making a clear statement against homophobia.

Pam personally condemned sHillary 'evolving' on her pro-Bush Iraq Military Adventure vote, and included this graphic in her post:

I believe Pam and I are both "equal opportunity complainers" about statements and positions by both Democratic or Republican presidential candidates, and we both use graphics to make our points.  In this case, I used the "big mouth" picture of Clinton because it showed a mouth ready for her foot.

"Words are not action"

Maybe,  Maybe not.  But please don't try and kid anybody that you are equal opportunity posters of unflattering photos.  I stopped scrolling backwards after 210 front page articles here.  Hillary Clinton was the only Democrat I saw to be "honored" with a "isn't she a clown?" photo, you know, the kind you usually reserve for the "clown car" occupants, or Ann Coulter, or unabashed haters of people like us.  Gee, even Romney seems to always rate a straight flattering campaign shot (see above article).

I'm not saying you're not entitled to do it.  And I'm never surprised to see a woman get the treatment.  I just think its a strange way to treat an ally.

None of the frontrunners

support my equal rights so what do I care really?

  I find Clinton and Edwards to be compelling speakers, Obama comes off as a good orator but I have no confidence in his negoiation or mediation skills witness the anti gay McClukin thing.  I trust him less than the other two because I don't know how he reacts to pressure or situations which require dipolmacy and negotiation.  Stop with the snarking already.

Thank you

If Obama were to become president, you can bet that Donnie McClurkin will call him up: "Obama, thith ith Donnie.  The gloveth are offth.  Ifth there'th going to be a war with the gayth, there'th gonna be a war!"

And then Obama would kiss Donnie's ass and obey.

Thanks

Karen, thanks for clearly stating your concerns about Obama.  I have been feeling water logged in the brain about what my concerns were and poof, you put them right here.  thanks for bailing me out!

Alright, we are getting a lot of rain, sorry for all the bad puns.

given up on the frontrunners

Karen, you're so right. Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel are the only ones my queer heart could vote for without nose-holding.

I don't see that Obama has earned ultimate anathema yet. One serious lapse in judgment doesn't form a pattern. Although it means he needs to be closely watched, because he's got a very good shot at the nomination. He may yet turn out to be good for us, I need to wait and see.

Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

sHillary also...

...(may I say it?) fucked up with the health care discussion in 1993-94.

I'm not particularly into apologies for stupid votes--like the one on Iraq--but I would like an explanation.  Which sHillary has not provided.

Pretty accurate criticism of Obama, actually
He's got soaring rhetoric with little substance.  I find it creepy sometimes listening to him talk about "coming together" and achieving "unity"--because he doesn't present much of an agenda or vision or ideology around which to unite.

"Our Liberties We Prize and Our Rights We Will Maintain" -- Iowa state motto

No matter what she says ....

... some people will say she flubbed it. But I agree with Sportin' Life that it was an accurate description of Obama.

As for her record of voting on the war, I'm one of the few people who thinks she's showing more balls than all the men who lied (G.W., Cheney, et al.) by her refusal to apologize. When will we call on the people who lied to us and took us about Iraq -- when will we hold them accountable? She voted in good faith based on information given to her by the Bush Administration. If that information was false, why should she apologize?

If Barack Obama had in fact been in the Senate then, I honestly believe he would have voted along with Clinton. But since he's only been in the Senate for 3 years, he doesn't have much of a record to go by.

hillary clinton: the anti-hope candidate

From the debate in Manchester NH on Saturday:

Making change is not about what you believe. It’s not about a speech you make. It is about working hard...We don’t need to be raising the false hopes of our country about what can be delivered.

Aside from a not-so-indirect attack on Obama, what I find disturbing about Hillary's remark is the implicit message:  "I've been in the White House for eight years, so I'm more in touch with the political realities in Washington.  Don't expect to be able to accomplish anything good and important.  It's not possible."

I'm aware the political process is not easy (unless you ignore a little thing called "checks and balances":  you know, like the usurper currently residing in the White House who said publicly his job would be a whole lot easier if this were a dictatorship).

But do we want a President who concedes defeat before the fight has even begun?
