The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

TNR: Ron Paul's racist, homophobic closet

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Jan 08, 2008 at 15:45:24 PM EST

Hat tip to Jim Burroway, who brings us news about what James Kirchick of The New Republic found in GOP prez candidate Ron Paul's closet -- tucked away newsletters from the 1990s filled with racism, anti-Semitism and over-the-top homophobia. Paul has said someone else wrote them or that the statements have been "taken out of context."

These newsletters were published monthly under the titles Ron Paul's Freedom Report, Ron Paul Political Report, and The Ron Paul Survival Report.  Kirchik:

Finding the pre-1999 newsletters was no easy task, but I was able to track many of them down at the libraries of the University of Kansas and the Wisconsin Historical Society. Of course, with few bylines, it is difficult to know whether any particular article was written by Paul himself. Some of the earlier newsletters are signed by him, though the vast majority of the editions I saw contain no bylines at all. Complicating matters, many of the unbylined newsletters were written in the first-person, implying that Paul was the author.

But, whoever actually wrote them, the newsletters I saw all had one thing in common: They were published under a banner containing Paul's name, and the articles (except for one special edition of a newsletter that contained the byline of another writer) seem designed to create the impression that they were written by him--and reflected his views. What they reveal are decades worth of obsession with conspiracies, sympathy for the right-wing militia movement, and deeply held bigotry against blacks, Jews, and gays. In short, they suggest that Ron Paul is not the plain-speaking antiwar activist his supporters believe they are backing--but rather a member in good standing of some of the oldest and ugliest traditions in American politics.

OK, on to the filth. Snippets are below the fold.
Pam Spaulding :: TNR: Ron Paul's racist, homophobic closet
You decide how any of this can be "taken out of context" - certainly Paul needs to be make it crystal clear whether he 1) wrote this, 2) endorsed it for publication under his name, 3) still believes all that was put onto paper and distributed to his supporters.

Ron Paul's newsletter's statement on gays:

Like blacks, gays earn plenty of animus in Paul's newsletters. They frequently quoted Paul's "old colleague," Congressman William Dannemeyer--who advocated quarantining people with AIDS--praising him for "speak[ing] out fearlessly despite the organized power of the gay lobby." In 1990, one newsletter mentioned a reporter from a gay magazine "who certainly had an axe to grind, and that's not easy with a limp wrist." In an item titled, "The Pink House?" the author of a newsletter--again, presumably Paul--complained about President George H.W. Bush's decision to sign a hate crimes bill and invite "the heads of homosexual lobbying groups to the White House for the ceremony," adding, "I miss the closet." "Homosexuals," it said, "not to speak of the rest of society, were far better off when social pressure forced them to hide their activities." When Marvin Liebman, a founder of the conservative Young Americans for Freedom and a longtime political activist, announced that he was gay in the pages of National Review, a Paul newsletter implored, "Bring Back the Closet!" Surprisingly, one item expressed ambivalence about the contentious issue of gays in the military, but ultimately concluded, "Homosexuals, if admitted, should be put in a special category and not allowed in close physical contact with heterosexuals."
Jews:
A 1987 issue of Paul's Investment Letter called Israel "an aggressive, national socialist state," and a 1990 newsletter discussed the "tens of thousands of well-placed friends of Israel in all countries who are willing to wok [sic] for the Mossad in their area of expertise." Of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, a newsletter said, "Whether it was a setup by the Israeli Mossad, as a Jewish friend of mine suspects, or was truly a retaliation by the Islamic fundamentalists, matters little."
Blacks hold a special place in the heart of the newsletters as well:
Paul's alliance with neo-Confederates helps explain the views his newsletters have long espoused on race. Take, for instance, a special issue of the Ron Paul Political Report, published in June 1992, dedicated to explaining the Los Angeles riots of that year. "Order was only restored in L.A. when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks three days after rioting began," read one typical passage. According to the newsletter, the looting was a natural byproduct of government indulging the black community with "'civil rights,' quotas, mandated hiring preferences, set-asides for government contracts, gerrymandered voting districts, black bureaucracies, black mayors, black curricula in schools, black tv shows, black tv anchors, hate crime laws, and public humiliation for anyone who dares question the black agenda." It also denounced "the media" for believing that "America's number one need is an unlimited white checking account for underclass blacks." To be fair, the newsletter did praise Asian merchants in Los Angeles, but only because they had the gumption to resist political correctness and fight back. Koreans were "the only people to act like real Americans," it explained, "mainly because they have not yet been assimilated into our rotten liberal culture, which admonishes whites faced by raging blacks to lie back and think of England."
Here is a link to a PDF of one of the gay-bashing newsletters.

UPDATE: Here is the Ron Paul campaign's release today on the topic of the newsletters  (h/t Kevin C.):

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA - In response to an article published by The New Republic, Ron Paul issued the following statement:

"The quotations in The New Republic article are not mine and do not represent what I believe or have ever believed.  I have never uttered such words and denounce such small-minded thoughts.

"In fact, I have always agreed with Martin Luther King, Jr. that we should only be concerned with the content of a person's character, not the color of their skin.  As I stated on the floor of the U.S. House on April 20, 1999:  'I rise in great respect for the courage and high ideals of Rosa Parks who stood steadfastly for the rights of individuals against unjust laws and oppressive governmental policies.'

"This story is old news and has been rehashed for over a decade.  It's once again being resurrected for obvious political reasons on the day of the New Hampshire primary.

"When I was out of Congress and practicing medicine full-time, a newsletter was published under my name that I did not edit.  Several writers contributed to the product.   For over a decade, I have publicly taken moral responsibility for not paying closer attention to what went out under my name."

His Views Are Not News
I knew this already - it's how Paul cornered the Neo-Nazi vote.

socially right wing libertarian
Also how Paul made savecalifornia.com's friend of "traditional family" list on the high end.

The common myth is that most true libertarians are socially liberal...here Paul dispells that notion when in fact he is socially right in there at right wing.

So a data set of one proves your opinion?
And if you spent any time among libertarians, you would know the hilarity of that opinion.

Try reason.com's Hit N Run blog for awhile. You might be pleasantly surprised.

You'd think he could at least spell Rooney's name correctly.

>^..^<

Welllll
Paul claims to be a libertarian, but he's not. See his stance on a woman's right to choose....

He also loathes all civil rights laws, supposedly because he's such a good libertarian.

Yeah, and I believe in the tooth fairy, the virgin birth, and that George W. Bush is the best president evah.

NOT!

....
I thought that Ron Paul believed that all of these rights including civil, were endowed to us by our creator. I mean that's what he speaks about

also
Yeah, he is running under the republican banner, but all of the other candidates are lauhing at him, Fox news would not even give him an interview in Iowa for crying out loud. It seems to me that Ron paul is not opposing civil rights he is making it clear that we already had these rights under the US Constitution, and it is the fault of the federal government for infringing people on their rights

Ron Paul is a cult.
For more info, see dneiwert.blogspot.com

truly, the Paulists tend to put their fingers in their ears and sing "He's antiwar", when reminded that Paul is either a serious bigot or has no issues with associating with bigots.

Insane
I pray to god this ends the libertarian title the press give Ron Paul. My boyfriend keeps saying that Libertarians must be evil and I keep trying to say he's not one.

Also, a co-worker seemed a bit enthralled by him. I plan on directing him to this article.....

Ron Paul is a horrible man and, more importantly, insane. I wonder who his followers are...because he sure seems to have some dedicated supporters.

Paul is irrelevant
Yeah Ron Paul is racist, homophobic scum but if the current poll results from New Hampshire hold up he is also on his way to being a political footnote. Good riddance to bad trash.

I don't understand
What about him inspires you all to feel this way? The man has an impeccable voting record. So because he thinks "group rights" should be non existent and instead looked at as fundamental  rights already given by the constitution, this makes him evil? . Nothing in his voting record suggests that he is a homophobe, bigot, or anti-semitist. The man preaches , getting the federal government out of our personal lives,  re evaluating our foreign policy, and restoring the constitution, That is what  this is all about. To me that sounds a whole lot better then what any of the other contenders are saying. No tone of them talk about restoring our constitution. They may talk about big government but their voting records are hypocritical.

James Kirchick has absolutely no journalistic integrity
this has been debunked.. this story is simply a smear piece

here is proof

Here's a transcript between David Weigel of reason.com and Ron Paul on 1/08/07 regarding the New Republic Article.

reason: Do you have any response to The New Republic's article about your newsletters?

Ron Paul: All it is--it's old stuff. It's all been rehashed. It's all political stuff.

reason: Why don't you release all the old letters?

Paul: I don't even have copies of them, because it's ancient history.

reason: Do you stand by what appears in the letters? Did you write these...?

Paul: No. I've discussed all of that in the past. It's just old news.

reason: Did the New Republic talk to you before they ran it?

Paul: No, I never talked to them.

reason: What do you think of Martin Luther King?

Paul: Martin Luther King is one of my heroes because he believed in nonviolence and that's a libertarian principle. Rosa Parks is the same way. Gandhi, I admire. Because they're willing to take on the government, they were willing to take on bad laws. So I believe in civil disobedience if you understand the consequences. Martin Luther King was a great person because he did that and he changed America for the better because of that.

reason: You didn't write the derogatory things about him in the letter?

   Paul: No.

source:
http://www.reason.com/blog/sho...

the best part of the new republic article is when it says this:
"Of course, with few bylines, it is difficult to know whether any particular article was written by Paul himself."
http://tinyurl.com/3caypg

come on, this is an obvious smear.... don't buy in to this low level mockery of journalistic integrity!! James Kirchick has none.

So how does this prove that it was bad journalism?
Because it looks to me that these newsletters are legit...

So..
If they are or aren't true.. is this the only reason you will not vote for him? He has more of a logical insight on how to get our country out of the crap it is in.. If things continue the way they are it's completely obvious no one will be able to fathom rights for anyone fundamental or not.

[ Parent ]
one can only hope
If they are or aren't true

That is relevant. Those groups vilified in those newsletters, if they want to be informed voters, need to know know what Dr. Paul's opinion is of those newsletters today, since his name is on them. He needs to specifically state who wrote them, and if he did write them, does he believe in the ideas promoted in them today.

That's not a lot to ask. I don't care if the man has logical insight about how to get the country out of the trouble Bush put us in if part of his philosophy includes demonizing LGBTs, thinking blacks are all criminals and part of the underclass, etc. That information is needed to adequately assess a candidate as well.

His tentative answers (it's old news, he doesn't have the newsletters any more, etc.) to Reason you cited didn't address specifics aside from the denial about writing anti-MLK propaganda. He allowed it to be published under his name, with the readers' assumption that he did write it, and believe what he wrote to be his opinion.

The newsletters have been unearthed, so he now has to address them. It would be quite easy for Ron Paul to issue a definitive statement clarifying all of this in order to cross it off of the list of issues raised about him. He certainly must have known it would come up.

Pam
Ron Paul has repeatedly made it clear even posted in his official site, that he abhors racism Pam, that he finds it as a form of collectivism.

Adolph Hitler
Adolph Hitler got Germany out of one of the worst depressions in world history. I am absolutely confident that if Hitler were president of the United States today he could get us out of our recession and national debt within a year. So, should I vote for Hitler?

------
For Example  U.S. House of Representatives recently passed HR 1955 titled the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007. This bill is one of the most blatant attacks against the Constitution yet and actually defines thought crimes as homegrown terrorism.

All I need to know about Ron Paul...
...is that about a decade ago, we received a fund raising letter bearing his signature.  It was on behalf of Jesse Helms, noted homophobe, anti-semite and racist.

And Undoubtedly
This is a smear attempt by James Kirchick, It wiuld also be wise to take a look at the fact that these newsletters were published back when Ron Paul was not in congress.

Von misis institute
James Kirchick also ascribed rascism to the Ludick Vonmisis institute. Which is a libertarian organization. He warrants it to be racist simply for publishing books critical of linchlon and the expansion of the federal government during the civil war.
