Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Richardson drops out

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Jan 09, 2008 at 20:30:00 PM EST

He is a Dem with a killer resume, and was Hispanic to boot, showing that the Democrats have a deep, diverse and qualified field that makes the GOP candidates look pathetically retro. Alas, we know credentials in today's elections aren't what carry the day, which is too bad. Bill Richardson would be an fine VP pick. (AP):

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson ended his campaign for the presidency Wednesday after twin fourth-place finishes that showed his impressive credentials could not compete with his rivals' star power.

Richardson planned to announce the decision Thursday, according to two people close to the governor with knowledge of the decision. They spoke on a condition of anonymity in advance of the governor's announcement.

The Richardson campaign would not comment on the governor's decision, reached after a meeting with his top advisers Wednesday in New Mexico.

Richardson had one of the most wide-ranging resumes of any candidate ever to run for the presidency, bringing experience from his time in Congress, President Clinton's Cabinet, in the New Mexico statehouse as well as his unique role as a freelance diplomat. As a Hispanic, he added to the unprecedented diversity in the Democratic field that also included a black and a woman.

You may recall his epic misstep at the HRC/Logo forum, but Bill Richarson's record on LGBT issues, aside from his 1996 vote on DOMA while in Congress and being another candidate "just not there" yet on marriage equality, is progressive by any measure.

* He signed legislation expanding New Mexico civil rights laws to include sexual orientation and gender identity. (At the time, only three other states had included transgender protections.)

* He signed a hate crimes law that included actual or perceived sexual orientation and gender identity.

* He signed an executive order in 2003 extending health insurance and other benefits to the same-sex domestic partners of N.M. state employees.

* He's on record backing full-fledged civil unions and (unlike John Kerry) opposes state-level constitutional amendments banning gays from marrying.

* While in Congress, Richardson backed military service for out gay men and lesbians. That means, unlike Al Gore, John Kerry, John Edwards, Hillary and the rest, he was anti-Don't Ask, Don't Tell when it was very uncool to be.

Actually, I think VP would be a waste of Richardson's credentials.
Bill Richardson would be an fine VP pick.

Although, he would be an excellent VP, I believe he would be better in a diplomatic position such as UN Ambassador or Sec of State.

Sec of state as well
Though if Clinton wins, she's probably hand Bill that assignment.

[ Parent ]
Which would be a waste of WJC's talent.
He could do so much for us making the First Fella into a role.

But wait, there's more!

[ Parent ]
Been there
Richardson has already been UN Ambassador.  And Cabinet Secretary of Energy.  Part of the killer resume.

[ Parent ]
Unless....
If it means he'd be on better footing to run for Pres in 2016, (or 2012 if the gop wins) then I say he should go for it.

[ Parent ]
I'm relieved.
'Hey, y'all can we have our Governor back?' has been on many lips recently.

The personal problems with Big Bill were going to come out eventually, and had he performed vaguely competently in any debate appearance, it would have happened at a terribly damaging time.

I just hope that Obama doesn't suffer the same disorder. I wonder whether one of the side effects of making it in politics in a racist society at an early age, which is a background that Big Bill and Obama share, makes it hard for the people around you to tell you how you're perceived. Again, it is my hope that Obama is young and new enough that he's not in the same boat with Bill, but I worry.

While I have strong reservations about Hillary--rooted in her record of neo-con votes in the Senate as well as the requirement that no one ever, ever be able to imply that she wasn't tough enough--one thing I know for sure is that no new dirt is going to fly.

But wait, there's more!

He lost me with one word:
maricón.

When did he say that?
I'm not being facetious, I honestly don't remember having heard about it.

Obama lost me with McCluckin...McChicken...McWhatever-his-name-is.

[ Parent ]
McClurkin!
I think...my brain has apparently joined the Writer's Guild strike.

[ Parent ]
Isn't that the Spanish word for "homosexual"?
If he had said "florita" I might agree with you.  But apparently he didn't.

[ Parent ]
Sort of
But in the same way that "faggot" means "gay" in English. Only it's much, much worse.

<3 Sam

[ Parent ]
I'm not sure that's correct
But it's been a long time since my HS Spanish.  I would figure that "florita" (basically "little flower") is analogous to "faggot."

[ Parent ]
he should run for Senate
There's a Senate seat open in 2008 due to the retirement of republican Pete Domenici. Richardson would definitely woin if he ran and get the Democrats closer to a filibuster-proof majority.

Run, Bill, Run (for Senate).

(Richardson has already announced he's not running for Senate, but who knows, he said he would stay in through Feb 5th, too).

no run
Richardson actually has given his word in NM to not run for the seat.  A Dem, Tom Udall, is leading the polling for that seat and has given up his Congressional seat to run.

[ Parent ]
That's unfortunate...
...despite his vote on DOMA, he was the only candidate in either party that I believed had the judgement to be president.  The US is going to hsve a rocky road ahead, what with Iraq and Iran, and he had the international experience to maneuver it.
