Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Tool McCain goes for the gay-baiting robocall in Florida

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Jan 29, 2008 at 12:15:00 PM EST

With a marriage amendment effort is going on in the Sunshine State and it's down to the short hairs for Mitt and McCain, it's good to know that pulling out the homo strawman is like a comfortable old shoe for Republicans.

This is what John McCain did to scare off potential flip-flop Mitt voters - a robocall capitalizing on the former Massachusetts governor's abandoned gay-friendly positions.  A nice robocall that neatly avoids the Arizona senator's own opposition to a Federal Marriage Amendment and history of playing it both ways. Oops. (The Politico):

“I’m calling with an urgent Mitt Romeny [unintelligible]"

"We care deeply about traditional values and protecting families. And we need someone who will not waver in the White House: Ending abortion, preserving the sanctity of marriage, stopping the trash on the airwaves and attempts to ban God from every corner of society. These issues are core to our being.

"Mitt Romney thinks he can fool us. He supported abortion on demand, even allowed a law mandating taxpayer-funding for abortion. He says he changed his mind, but he still hasn’t changed the law. He told gay organizers in Massachusetts he would be a stronger advocate for special rights than even Ted Kennedy.   Now, it’s something different.

"Unfortunately, on issue after issue Mitt Romney has treated social issues voters as fools, thinking we won’t catch on. Sorry, Mitt, we know you aren’t trustworthy on the most important issue and you aren’t a conservative.

"Paid for by John McCain 2008.

My question -- are the Log Cabinettes going to line up behind McCain or Romney if either is the nominee? That's a sorry choice.

McCain's divorce
What a laugh.  Where is the "sanctity of marriage" in divorce.  While still married to Carol Shepp, a model from Philadelphia, McCain began an adulterous relationship with his present wife Cindy. He married Cindy in May 1980 -- just a month after dumping Carol and securing a divorce.

of course they are
Are the Log Cabins going to line up behind McCain...of course they are.

Dunkin, thanks for th info about McCains sanity lite...didn't recall that.

Pathetic
What I find most offensive about this crap from McCain is that in 2001 he was more than willing to celebrate the life and heroism of the gay man who helped bring down United 93, Mark Bingham. Bingham was a Republican, and IIRC, supported McCain in 2000 exactly because he wasn't a typical gay-baiting GOP asshat. McCain appeared at his funeral and praised Bingham, thanking him for saving the Senator and all those at the Capitol that day.

Truly despicable. Although, it would make for a great campaign ad against him.

But you are, Blanche
Romney has treated social issues voters as fools

The GOP in general has treated voters as fools.  And a quarter of the population has fully acted the part.

Log Cabinettes are totally irrelevant
both to their own party, and to everyone else.

What a group - they could get together with Jews for Jesus and hold a sing-along :)

I machine-translated "Log Cabin Republican" into Thai and back again
...and it came out "Small Log House of Uncle Thomas."

Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

Thai sweetness
I think their politics are just as dirty as ours, if not more so.  It's all about people getting power and having control over one another.  I am sick of it.

What's scary is
McCain could easily win the election. I know people who would consider voting for McCain over Clinton if they are the nominees, but would otherwise vote Democrat. Nothing I say can convince them otherwise.

I despite Romney's betrayals so much
that I was kind of rooting for McCain.  I admired McCain's praise of Mark Bingham as well as his "agents of intolerance" comment.

But now this.

Wow.

Talk about stooping.

The irony is that it makes McCain as sleazy and unprincipled as Romney.

And the "special rights" comment
is a lie.  I am certain Romney never, ever said he would be a "stronger advocate for special rights."

I am on the verge of conniptions from even seeing that phrase "special rights" re-emerge.  Please, once again, what are special rights?

How does whomever writes this stuff sleep at night?

We get no Federal benefits
Any group in America that is benefiting from and defending special rights for themselves, it's McCain, Romney and religious believers. Why do Christians favor restrictions on gays which they would never accept for themselves, such as being tax exempt.

Not Gay-Bashing
I've read the text and this is not gay-bashing but rather Mitt-bashing. If the Democratic Party nominee doesn't suit me, I'd be proud to vote for John McCain.

Divergent perceptions
How do you interpret the two phrases in bold in the excerpt above?

My own interpretation is that the robo-call is Mitt-bashing that most definitely includes gay-bashing.

"I'd be proud to vote for John McCain"

I'm not a single-issue voter, but I would not be proud to back a man who supported Arizona's 2006 effort to ban same-sex marriage, and who continues to maintain that ..."open homosexuality within the military services presents an intolerable risk to morale, cohesion and discipline."

And as hard as it is to make generalities, I'm tending toward the belief that most anyone in his 70's is just too compromised by the vicissitudes of age to do this job properly.

earth to holly.
U might want to re-read that.
i think holly is usually pretty ok. what happened?

If history is any indicator,
and if McCain is the eventual nominee, you'll see him return to being more of a moderate after the primary season.  The rules being that you have to appeal to your base, in this case, the American Taliban community, and then you appeal to everyone else.

From Massachusetts
I'm all for anything to remove Mittens from the ticket.  This man will say anything to anyone.  He supposedly has no problem with any groups yet when the plantiffs in the Goodridge case met with him when he was trying to stop equal marriage in Mass, when he was asked "What do we tell our daughter?" he replied "Just tell her what you've been telling her before"  The man has no compassion for anyone and even dogs.

I don't always agree with McCain, however, I respect him.  I have no respect for Mitt.
