Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

The blog less traveled...

by: Pam Spaulding

Sun Feb 03, 2008 at 18:38:48 PM EST

So many folks email me or ask me in person how PHB gained its readership. There are lots of factors --

* timing: since the launch on July 2004, blogs have grown at an exponential rate;
* blogwhoring or diaries at larger blogs: in the comments at Americablog back in the day, writing diaries at Daily Kos;
* having a "voice" that connects with readers: it's that unknown "it" factor that can't be fully explained.
* blogrolls: providing links to great writers with less traffic, and exposing them to a larger audience, and providing reciprocal links.

Today is Blogroll Amnesty Day, and folks are encouraged to link up to some of the lower-traffic, high-quality writing you don't have in your RSS feeds. At left is a nice chunk of those blogs in a widget I created that you can embed at your pad. You'll see that they are in good company with well-known, popular blogs.

Take some time to scroll the list and click links you've never heard of or surf frequently and get acquainted with great writers..

Many thanks to Skippy and Jon Swift for shepherding this through.

hey thanks, pam!
thanks for participating!

"blogtopia - yes! i coined that phrase!"

Thanks for the nice widget!
In the spirit of Blogroll Amnesty, could you possibly add Left in Alabama to it? We joined LBAN in December and seemed to have missed all except the very last blogroll update -- the one RJ sent out on Jan. 26th.

Work harder and work smarter!

Done!
It will show up the next time the Blogrolling feed is refreshed.

Other factors that have made PHB a must click
1.  The dialog is largely civil - readers are free to make comments and create their own diaries, some of which are promoted to the front page, as long as they are factual and civil.

2.  Pam and her co-barristas treat their visitors to steaming hot joe and great discourse on pertinent topics.

3.  The sham of the extreme right wing and fundamentalists are shown and linked to so that the readership can see for themselves how unhinged and out of touch these people are.

4.  Many more reasons that I am too tired to elaborate right now, it was a long weekend and next week looks ugly...

But thanks to Pam and her other contributors...it is a work of wonder...and to the new sites being exposed through this effort, good luck to you!

Nice list
That's a very cool list Pam. You get cooler by the minute :)

So glad to see you drop in on B.A.D. I participated over at Jon's place. You and Jon are two of the nicest bloggers this micro-blogger has ever encountered.

And bkmn is right on about the civility here. When I first came across the blend, I was struck by it and stayed because of it.

Electricity's for light bulbs!

oh yeah
Would it possible to get myself onto a list? No biggie if not.

B.A.D.
Hey Pam,

Jon & skippy invited me to take part today, as well.

I'd love to get onto your list in that great widget (already in place at my place).

Thanks, keep up the good work.

B.A.D. Beg for Free State Politics
Hi, Pam - would you consider linking in your widget to Free State Politics (www.freestatepolitics.us) - they are the Scoop site that is all over the Maryland Religious Freedom and Marriage Protection Act i.e. the same-sex marriage bill.  Isaac Smith over there does a lot of thankless work and some traffic would lift his spirits and get the word out about this important state bill.

Many thanks! BG

Check out Channel Surfing
I'm taking your advice. Here is Channel Surfing, a lefty  blog from Joisey.

Congrats, Pam, you are officially an OLD master....
as day # 4 person in NBJC's Feb. LGBT Black History email series.

Reasons for your success:
Civility.
Information.
Personality / self-disclosure: getting married in Canada, etc.
Welcoming of other bloggers, including the "diaries" sections.
Good crowd hangs out here - more polite and more thoughtful and interesting than the Ablog crowd, which deteriorated once he reached "A-list" status.

You are on my must-visit-daily list, along with some heterogenous frequent-posting or group blogs

www.talk2action.org (group blog on the religious right)
"orcinus" dneiwert.blogspot.com  (right wing extremist watch)
angryblackbitch.blogspot.com (lesbian journalist, in my town and known to me)
revjph.blogspot.com (MadPriest's all things Anglican (MP is Church of England priest) and Episcopalian, with humor - gay and pro-gay christians hang out here)
pandagon.blogspot.com (Amanda Marcotte, on feminist issues from the straight standpoint)
www.feministblogs.com (blog aggregator)
www.racialicious.com (race and media group blog)
www.wimnonline.org/WIMNsVoicesBlog/ (women and media group blog)
and finally, for LOLCATs, www.icanhascheezburger.com

I don't have a blog of my own, hence my doing the promo here.

Long-time lurker and aficionado
and a participant in BAD. I've had PHB on my blogroll for a long time but since I mostly lurk, I wouldn't presume to expect a link back. I love the blogrolling widget and would love to have one like it for my own blogroll, but couldn't find a way to put it together on yourminis. Any clues would be very much appreciated!

Thanks, and keep on with the great work!

Me again - figured the blogroll widget out!
As Emily Litella used to say, "Never mind!" But thank you for introducing that cool widget to the rest of us :-)
