Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Haggard quits pray-away-the-gay program

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Feb 06, 2008 at 07:15:00 AM EST

And you thought the story was over. A short recap:

After three weeks of intensive "restoration" therapy, former megachurch leader, meth-purchaser and intimate man-on-man massage enthusiast Ted Haggard declared that he was "completely heterosexual." He submitted himself to a Daddy Dobson-approved team of godly, clean men who inserted themselves into the life of the fallen pastor, who was tossed out from New Life Church in November 2006.

Even so, he ran into quite a bit of trouble during the follow-up part of his spiritual restoration, planning to move into a Phoenix halfway house, the Dream Center, to "minister to men" there while working toward his degree in counseling. The that invitation was withdrawn after Ted sent out a boldly insane "fund-me-please" letter asking for fans to support him rather than getting himself a j-o-b.

It also didn't go over well with his de-gaying team that the letter was sent out from a Colorado Springs outfit called "Families With a Mission," run by Paul G. Huberty who is registered as a sex offender (in Hawaii for "sodomy and indecent acts" with "a 17-year-old female).

Now comes this news that via press release from  Ted's former digs, now headed up by New Life Church's senior pastor, Brady Boyd, that Haggard has left what could now be called the  heterosexual "maintenance" program -- and perhaps Ted departed before it could squeeze out any residual homo inclinations from him. It's a vague letter -- and it's after the jump.

Pam Spaulding :: Haggard quits pray-away-the-gay program
From Colorado Confidential, which has been all over the entire Haggard saga. What can you read in these tea leaves?
Brady Boyd
Senior Pastor
New Life Church
Colorado Springs, CO

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ted Haggard's leadership of New Life Church for many years was extraordinary and the depth of spiritual maturity that is found today in the church is in large part attributed to his leadership as the founding senior pastor.

In January 2007, Ted Haggard voluntarily agreed to enter a process of spiritual restoration.  He has selected Phoenix First Assembly and Pastor Tommy Barnett as his local church fellowship and is maintaining an accountability relationship there. He has recently requested to end his official relationship with the New Life Church Restoration Team and this has been accepted by them.

New Life Church recognizes the process of restoring Ted Haggard is incomplete and maintains its original stance that he should not return to vocational ministry. However, we wish him and his family only success in the future.

Because spiritual restoration is a necessarily confidential process, the church does not anticipate that it, or its Overseers or Restorers will make further comment about it.

You have to wonder what is really going on here, and what Ted Haggard has learned about the process of trying to pray-away-the-gay. Cara DeGette of Colorado Confidential aptly noted:

At the time, the church's claim of Haggard's so-termed "restored" sexual orientation status was met with disbelief from many quarters, most notably from the Christian group Soulforce, whose gay and lesbian members reject claims that homosexuality is either:

a. Something that can be "cured"
b. A sin.

What, if anything do you think Ted Haggard will say publicly about his experience? Certainly if the evangelical former pastor has not truly reclaimed his heterosexuality after the very strict re-programming, it would be a serious blow to the ex-gay industry if he were to come forward and say that he now realizes that his same-sex desires are neither evil or wrong and that these cures have nothing to do with getting right with God.

We may never know what he and his family have gone through because of the denial and pain fostered by the Dobson-endorsed "ex-gay" program.

Other Blend posts on Haggard, including "Haggard's flock notes, in hindsight, there was something 'strange' about Ted."

Hat tip, Joe.My.God.

Severance pay
Ted Haggard was paid his salary for a year only if he was in this restoration program. Once the pay ran out he quit. No surprise there. He probably recognizes the program for the BS that it is.

Of course whether he preaches again or not is totally up to him. Anyone can start a church if they want. I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

Public Meltdown
He's becoming the Britney Spears of the evangelical world.

he WILL be back..
These kind of people don't go away. Ted will be back in some fashion with a 'ministry'. I doubt that he has seen the 'light' that same sex attraction is not a sin.

Look at all the disgraced TV, seed faith ministers that keep bouncing back; the Mike Murdochs (sp?), Paula White et al, Peter Popov (sp?). They just can't get rid of that taste of money and power over people.

Don't forget the first and greatest of them all.
Jim and Tammy Faye Baker and PTL Club. (Praise the Lord Club)

During those days the fundalmentalists were also kidnapping people from supposedly "religious sects" and began slandering us by calling us "Cults". The fundamentalists began "Deprogrammming Camps" to deprogram the minds of those who were just loving people of the 60's flower children heritage who wanted to live free with other free thinking folks, when they should have been watching these heretic churches like Jim Jones, who was right under their nose under the veil of Legitmacy as these heretics like Huck are now.

The fundalmentalist concentrated their efforts on small splinter groups who received the run away children of amerika. We were basically just hippies who wanted to live "where the water taste's like wine".

Too many people beleived the gorvernment recognized establishment churches and turned their backs on us because of slander and propaganda about child abuse. Disgrace! And now I hear finally people here recognizing the fundalmentalists as abusers of children, with brain washing.

They will do anything and they will do what ever they have to do to make people believe like them, even burn you at the stake with a bible tied in your hands.

   Bye Bye Miss American Pe

I'd rather be a lion for one day, than a sheep for my entire life.

Read the book
If you get a chance I recommend the book written by Mike Jones "I Had to Say Something."

I picked it up a work (we get to borrow books, to keep up with new books) and afterwards had to buy a copy for my GSA library.

Its not fantastic, but it does paint a realistic picture of the whole Ted thing and the life of a closet case.  (although bad side effect: one of my students, may or may not have been joking about paying for classes by giving "massages")

nothing new at this time.....

A Haggard-sexual
Or as Ted would say, "Who do I gotta blow around here to become straight?"

"What, if anything do you think Ted Haggard will say publicly about his experience?"

Send me money. Thank you.

He'll say whatever will make him the most money in the book deal
and maybe movie rights.  That's the bottom line for him.

Now he's positioned to blackmail some Christian publisher to up the price for him to write that he's totally cured, because he can do so much damage to the "ex-gay" programs out there if he takes a check to write it the way we know it should be written - that's there's no way to pray away the gay.

Does Brady Boyd...
...register on anyone else's gaydar?  He sure does on mine.

If you do not allow it in the light...
...it will be the darkness.

What 18th amendment and Volstead Act did for alcohol...

What Comstock Law did for abortion...

What the DEA does for drug use...

and what religious fundamentalism does for homosexuality is to drive it into a world of crime and high risk.

And you can't help people who have gone underground.
