The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Texas gov Rick Perry only sees the 'sex' in homosexual

by: Pam Spaulding

Mon Feb 25, 2008 at 18:30:00 PM EST

You know, the last time I typed out heteroSEXual, I seemed to have hit those same three keys when I typed homoSEXual, so I'm not sure why Texas Governor Good Hair Perry said this insanity to New York Times reporter Deborah Solomon when asked about his support for the ban on gays in the Boy Scouts, the subject of his book, On My Honor: Why the American Values of the Boy Scouts Are Worth Fighting For.
PERRY: ...Scouting ought to be about building character, not about sex. Period. Precious few parents enroll their boys in the Scouts to get a crash course in sexual orientation.

SOLOMON: Why do you think a homosexual would be more likely to bring the subject of sex into a conversation than a heterosexual?

PERRY: Well, the ban in scouting applies to scout leaders. When you have a clearly open homosexual scout leader, the scouts are going to talk about it. And they're not there to learn about that. They're there to learn about what it means to be loyal and trustworthy and thrifty.

SOLOMON: But don't you think that homosexuals might also be interested in being loyal and thrifty?

PERRY: The argument that gets made is that homosexuality is about sex. Do you agree?

SOLOMON: No.

PERRY: Well, then why don't they call it something else?

Hat tip, Towleroad.

Flashback: Remember this godawful bullsh*t back in June 2005?

Silly rabbit!
We do call it something else! Ever heard of... gay? Lesbian? Queer?

Mr. Perry, you're the only frickin' idiot out there slurring on about homosexshuls. Well not the only one, but you are an aging breed that we can only hope won't be around in a few generations.

Duh.

Bigotry is like other non-normative behaviours.
Same sex orientation folks are a constant 5% to 10%, depending on who's counting and how you count.  Can we say 7%, for now?  Same thing with different-gender-identified -- some say as high as 5% with a threshold for trans behaviour; 3% seems like a comfortable number.

The hubris and xenophobia that underlie GLBT-phobia also appears to be fairly constant throughout history, in that, like the abortion issue, there are die-hards who will never be convinced to change their particular stance, and that all's fair in defense of their stance (like bombing abortion clinics and sniping doctors, for example.)

Steven Pinker makes the footnoted, bibliographied case in "The Blank Slate" that we are all genetically hard-wired for certain settings.  Thus progressives tend to begat progressives and bigots tend to begat bigots.  It's like there's a 'hate the other' module somewhere in all of us.  Most people can override the modules' directives with other modules, but for some, the output on that module is, like Nigel Tufnel's guitars and amps, set permanently at '11'

What, then, is the constant percentage of bigots in the population?  There is no hope we can breed this away in a generation or two, what with like-minded breeding couples forming faster than we can 'educate'.

Here's the link for the below quote:
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/07...

The natural impulse to dislike outsiders is so strong that it barely matters who the outsiders are.

When experimental psychologists divide subjects into purely arbitrary groups - by the color of their eyes, their taste in art, the flip of a coin - the members of a group quickly become so hostile to the other group that they'll try to deny rewards to the outsiders even at a cost to themselves.

And when the members of a group really have something in common, like family ties, they're willing to fight outsiders even if it means their own deaths. Xenophobia produced genetic rewards for hunter-gatherer clans. When the evolutionary psychologist J. B. S. Haldane was asked whether he would lay down his life for his brother, he replied, "No, but I would to save two brothers or eight cousins."

My wish
Our wish here in Texas is that he keep his damn mouth shut until after he's out of office!!!!

using his logic...
then the same is true of "heterosexuality". the Boy Scout "manual" is rife with "heterosexual loyalty", "heterosexual character building", "heterosexual trustworthiness", and "heterosexual thriftiness". as the basis for all of that, isn't it all about sex too?

as far as "boys talking about 'it,'" they talk about "it" whether there is someone gay as a leader or not.

maybe someone should ask Mr. Perry if when he was in the Boy Scouts did he or anyone of his fellow scouts ask about "it"?  probably to each other with no accuracy to their questions and no availability to facts.

Damn, but...
I miss Molly Ivins!

They only see anal sex
What they do with their wives, and they are attracted to the Dallas Cowboy's "tight end".

It's not just scout LEADERS...
Scouts too are barred for being honestly gay or honestly atheist.  Fundy liars always like to make out as if it is only scout leaders who are barred for honesty.  Nobody ever calls them on it either.

Not only evil but frickin dumb about it too
I can't help noticing the constant correlation between 'phobe mentality and pathetically diminutive levels of intellect.

Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

what the hell?
This is a joke right? He didn't really say that did he? Oh for goodness sake someone please tell me this is a joke.

Jokes
His hair is a joke.

Unfortunately, what comes out of his mouth is real.

HE is a joke
and he's a joke that will have served the longer than any other governor by the time he leaves office at the end of this term.  First, Duhbya and now Good Hair - Texans have suffered more than Job ever did!  We can only hope that he will sink back into the slimy ooze from whence he originally came.

[ Parent ]
Suffered?
I am a Texan, but I am used to living in a political and social hell, so it doesn't bother me so much any more. Texans voted for him several times. They tripped over themselves running to the ballot box to make gays and lesbians second class humans in the state constitution after Goodhair promoted it in 2004. If they have suffered, they deserve it.
Goodhair is just like Dubya, only dumber. That's the way Texans like their politicians.

[ Parent ]
Dumber than Dubya.
I have heard that from a few people I know that live in Texas, the DFW area to be exact.  One friend even mentioned that they will have one hell of a time when it comes to replacing Perry, but rest assured when the time comes they will vote for him.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

[ Parent ]
I'm not anti-evolution, it's just that...
PERRY: The argument that gets made is that homo erectus is about gay porn. Do you agree?

Oh absolutely, just like the argument that gets made is that anthropology is about saying your sorry after having infected someone with anthrax...or after having thrown ants on them.

Wow
Good gravy.  Can't Perry-noia see that the only people "bringing sex into this" are the Boy Scouts themselves, by making membership distinctions that are BASED on sexuality?  If they really lack bigoted motives, if they really want only to promote their mission, then they'd just emphasize honesty, character, and damn little else.  Sexual orientation (who you are) is about as irrelevant to these values (how you act) as is hair color.
