The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Obama's State Department passport file breached

by: Pam Spaulding

Thu Mar 20, 2008 at 22:30:00 PM EDT

Wow. This is unbelievable. The presidential candidate's files were accessed on January 9, February 21, and March 14 without cause, and three employees of the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Consular Affairs have been dismissed.
Barack Obama's campaign tonight is demanding a full investigation of reports that his passport files at the State Department were viewed without authorization.

"This is an outrageous breach of security and privacy, even from an Administration that has shown little regard for either over the last eight years. Our government's duty is to protect the private information of the American people, not use it for political purposes. This is a serious matter that merits a complete investigation, and we demand to know who looked at Senator Obama's passport file, for what purpose, and why it took so long for them to reveal this security breach," Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement.

Raw Story has video and transcript from tonight's MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann on this breaking news.

***

In an outrage of a different kind, with the release of Hillary Clinton's (unexplainably highly redacted) papers during he tenure as First Lady, the AP has run a sleazy story mapping her schedule to the precise dates and relative times that her husband was getting blown by Monica Lewisky.

More below the fold.

Pam Spaulding :: Obama's State Department passport file breached
I fail to see how this is newsworthy on any level except to humiliate Hillary Clinton. She's running for president, not her horndog husband. It's simply salacious, no, irresponsible, to write a story of this nature when the more relevant questions to ask should be about the release of these documents.  I don't want to hear so-called journalism outlets complaining about blogger ethics when you have this nonsense that is worthy of being printed in The Star or The Enquirer. Glenn Greenwald calls it out, as does Susie Madrak..

The AP should be asking why are so many of the meetings Hillary Clinton attended have the other party's name redacted?

Granted, Hillary Clinton's team has been dangling this whole matter of Obama needing to be "fully vetted" for the GOP, opening the door to this kind of gutter journalism, but this is just a taste of what's to come. After all, she still hasn't released her taxes from 2001-the present, and who knows what's in there; if there's no red flags, they would have been out there by now.

Speaking of vetting, it appears that Hillary has a faith-based problem of her own, joining Obama (Rev. Knight) and McCain (Parsley, Hagee). Barbara Ehrenreich reports that she's affiliated with a strange prayer group, in "Hillary's Ties to Religious Fundamentalists."

There's a reason why Hillary Clinton has remained relatively silent during the flap over intemperate remarks by Barack Obama's former pastor, Jeremiah Wright. When it comes to unsavory religious affiliations, she's a lot more vulnerable than Obama.

You can find all about it in a widely under-read article in the September 2007 issue of Mother Jones, in which Kathryn Joyce and Jeff Sharlet reported that "through all of her years in Washington, Clinton has been an active participant in conservative Bible study and prayer circles that are part of a secretive Capitol Hill group known as the "Fellowship," aka the Family. But it won't be a secret much longer. Jeff Sharlet's shocking exposé, The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power will be published in May.

Sean Hannity has called Obama's church a "cult," but that term applies far more aptly to Clinton's "Family," which is organized into "cells" -- their term -- and operates sex-segregated group homes for young people in northern Virginia. In 2002, writer Jeff Sharlet joined the Family's home for young men, foreswearing sex, drugs and alcohol, and participating in endless discussions of Jesus and power. He wasn't undercover; he used his own name and admitted to being a writer. But he wasn't completely out of danger either. When he went outdoors one night to make a cell phone call, he was followed. He still gets calls from Family associates asking him to meet them in diners -- alone.

Oy. Go read the rest.

Didn't the same thing happen to Bill Clinton
back in the 1990's compliments of Bush the Elder?  The more things change......

Obama Supported a sick FISA bill by not voting against it.
Well, well, well.  For someone like Obama who refused to vote on a horrible FISA bill that would have granted the executive branch freedom to spy without warrants and granted retroactive immunity to telecoms that spied on Americans illegally, I find it difficult to understand why Obama finds the US State Departments behaviour outrageous.  Choosing to sit on the sidelines and not voting against the previously horrible Senate sponsored FISA bills is a sure way of supporting the Bush administrations zeal to continue to break the law. If Obama does care about spying, than why didn't he put his vote where his mouth is?? Oh, yea, it is because he only cares when someone is spying on him.  What a self serving joke.

As far as printing trash stories about the Clintons love life or lack of one, please, give me a blanking break. (Or bs stories about Obama as well). Isn't there anyone left in the US who will not air such trash (or invent it to begin with) and do some real writing and real reporting on substantive issues that matter??!!

Wake up America or you will just get more leaders and faux journalists that you deserve.

The State Department's Inspector General is Investigating
In a statement to the press this morning State Department IG "Officer Barbrady" was quoted as saying "Nothing to see here people, move along"

Question:  What does an atheist do when they fall to the floor and start "speaking in tongues"?

Answer: Get a CAT scan.

About those National Archive redactions
First time commenting, long time and appreciative reader. Thanks for this thoughtful spot in an often less than thoughtful sphere.

Now, about those redactions, the National Archives' statement with the release includes:

"Of the 11,046 pages of schedules that are being opened, 4,746 have redactions. The majority of the redactions pertain to the privacy interests of third parties, including their social security numbers, telephone numbers, and home addresses. In addition, schedules for the first 19 days in January 1993, prior to the inauguration of President Clinton and prior to Mrs. Clinton's tenure as First Lady, have been closed in full in accordance with the Presidential Records Act."

Clinton's too.
Clinton's file was accessed too - in 2007.  Then, all of a sudden this morning, Rice made the announcement that some has looked into McCain's.  Looks like a cover up to me.  They got caught looking into the dem candidate's files, so sent someone back into the file cabinet to ruffle up McCain's folder so that it looks non-partisan.
WASHINGTON - The State Department says the passport files of the three presidential candidates - Barack Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton and John McCain - have been breached.

State Department spokesman Sean McCormack says the individual who accessed Obama's files also reviewed McCain's file...

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

WASHINGTON (AP) - State Department employees inappropriately examined the passport files of Democratic Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton, a security breach that forced Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to apologize to Obama.
...
Separately, Clinton issued a statement saying Rice told her that her passport file was breached in 2007.

I have to say ... BFD

I really have to say about this "breaking story" ... BFD!  A federal employee, who most likely is a human being, exercised normal human curiosity in the course of their job.  They had access to passport files and decided, out of normal human curiosity, to take a peak at the files of some famous people.  BFD.  Would not surprise me in the least if some federal employee had peaked at Britney Spears' file, Paris Hilton's, Barbra Streisland's, etc. etc. etc.  Normal human curiosity by clerks in the federal government.  Next "breaking story" please?

And be honest now.  If you had access to famous peoples' files, would you peak?  Be honest.  Would you?  I certainly would!

The fight for full LGBT Equality is NOT over.  Be strong and be ready to really fight!  And read my blog in your spare time! http://ravenhurst-ravenhurst.b...

A Contractor not Fed Employee
Big difference!  And, if I had access to famous peoples' files, no I wouldn't peak.  I found it deplorable when the hospital employees in CA were peaking at Britney Spears' files and I find it even more deplorable that people who are entrusted with security clearances and are expected to follow a strict need-to-know basis of information are doing this.

"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." -- Thomas Jefferson

same here
These are files that are confidential, and it is a BFD if those with clearances get to pick through people's files like a stash of discount coupons.

Given how our privacy rights have been shredded under this president, the slippery slope has them peeping in our bedrooms and into women's wombs and thinking that's no BFD either.

[ Parent ]
Very much a BFD
Their actions violate Privacy Act regulations that are in place for this very thing.  Curiosity is no excuse and the DoS takes it very seriously, especially in Consular Affairs where even foreign Non-Immigrant Visa applications are kept in a controlled access area.  That's why they set up the monitoring system that pinged these bozos.
