The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Why padding your 3 AM-ready resume is a really bad idea

by: Pam Spaulding

Mon Mar 24, 2008 at 13:15:00 PM EDT

Again, what is wrong with Hillary Clinton and her advisers? In an effort to promote her foreign policy experience -- and thus draw a contrast between the NY senator and Barack Obama, she boldly claimed on March 17 that she went on a harrowing, brave trip to Bosnia in 1996 as First Lady.
"I certainly do remember that trip to Bosnia... we came in in an evasive maneuver... I remember landing under sniper fire... there was no greeting ceremony... we ran with our heads down, we basically were told to run to our cars... there was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, we basically were told to run to our cars, that is what happened."
Now as First Lady, she and her crack team of high-paid consultants should have known that there were not only reporters on the trip (and video) to blow away this account. But no, they stuck to their story, and the end result is that the video evidence has surfaced, making her look like a prevaricating resume padder.

Below the fold, a video that makes the campaign look incredibly bad/incompetent again; they should have seen this coming.

Pam Spaulding :: Why padding your 3 AM-ready resume is a really bad idea
This is from the JedReport:
And the Washington Post has a blow-by-blow account of the fibbing and the facts, including her 1996 traveling companion on that trip, the comedian Sinbad, who has no idea where Clinton's account came from.
Harrowing? Not that Sinbad recalls. He just remembers it being a USO tour to buck up the troops amid a much worse situation than he had imagined between the Bosnians and Serbs.

In an interview with the Sleuth Monday, he said the "scariest" part of the trip was wondering where he'd eat next. "I think the only 'red-phone' moment was: 'Do we eat here or at the next place.'"

..."I never felt that I was in a dangerous position. I never felt being in a sense of peril, or 'Oh, God, I hope I'm going to be OK when I get out of this helicopter or when I get out of his tank.'"

Now help me out here -- why lie about this? It doesn't make any sense, and only allows for this nonsense to be raised in the general election if she were to be the Dem nominee. I know pols can be professional prevaricators, but usually it's to their benefit, not their embarrassment.

If you think the above is bad, a media conference call today with the Clinton team managed to make things worse. Howard Wolfson actually said that Hillary "misspoke" about the Bosnia daredevil trip. It's pretty hard watching that video and seeing a mere slip of the tongue. Come on, people. You don't tout experience that you don't have. Though based on the campaigning so far, it's less about whether something is true or not, it's whether you can do damage to your opponent, which the GOP does so well. Swift Boating works, regardless of who's doing it. That's what they pay the big bucks to the consultants for.

UPDATE: Keith Olbermann breaks it down.

Padding, and what for?
Okay, even if she had landed under sniper fire and did run with her head down (what, no helmets or vests?), how does this constitute "foreign policy experience"?

On other blogs I've seen diehard Clintonistas say, "Well, at least she went to Bosnia."  And yes, it's great that she has traveled widely as First Lady, given that Bush entered office never having been anywhere outside the U.S. but Mexico.  But her travels have been ceremonial for the most part--as they always are for First Ladies--and in Bosnia she had no substantive role to play.  I read over the weekend someone in her campaign admitted that she didn't have security clearance and she didn't attend NSC meetings, but she did call people frequently to find out "what was going on" and to "express her opinion."  And I'm sure those she called listened dutifully and answered as much as they could--but again, so what?  She's curious?  Well good.  Then why wasn't she more curious about Iraq?  Why was she so gullible when Senators far more experienced and knowledgeable like Byrd distrusted the president and the coming war?  Oh, I get it, she just ducked her head and ran....

Oh, well, I'm glad I had a mindless break from all this hypocrisy yesterday and went to see 10,000 B.C. which stars someone totally hot from The Covenant (Steven Strait)and is a rousing old-style adventure.  It doesn't have the wit or timing of Raiders of the Lost Ark, but it's a one and half popcorn tub spirited romp, stealing from Star Gate, Apocalypto, even LOTR.

Boy that was stupid!
My mother is also a compulsive exagerator...seemingly incapable of simply remembering things as they actually happened.

This behaviour is disturbing, and should give everyone pause.

There is spin.  Fine.

There is campaigning.  Also fine.

When shit is made up out of whole cloth - especially shit which is easily disproved (just saw Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC who was on the same plane call it 'fantasy') - very bad.

This is one of those times when you sort of wish a campaign aide would tackle the candidate to stop them from saying more.

Question:  What does an atheist do when they fall to the floor and start "speaking in tongues"?

Answer: Get a CAT scan.

Where are the journos?
Has anybody gotten to Clinton directly and asked her to substantiate her claims given that those on the tour deny them?

Has anyone checked what she said about Bosnia in her autobiography?

Can't view the video, but...
....I was with a unit in Bosnia in 1996, and I seem to recall a rather uneventful trip just about anywhere.

No bad news please, we're the Clintons
I think they're both too much like Bush, our weakest president in history. Can't admit it if they made a mistake; are furious if staff brings news that's outside the heroic narrative... President Clinton did his bull sessions with under 25's staffers (like who's going to contradict him and they think he's brilliant since he's willing to spend all this time with them) and then her long time friend and confidant, Patty Solis Doyle scared to tell her they're running out of money until they actually do. Bush and the Clintons surround themselves with loyal sycophants rather than grown-ups...Really disappointed in her. Expected more (don't know why though)

You know...
I did, too! I really did. I was so for her running quite awhile ago when she was just throwing out the idea of doing it/not. I've been dying for a lady prez since I was a kid--hell, any other perspective than the old white haired dudes we keep getting, but a lady prez, bring it!

I'm not sure when I changed opinions, but it was definitely around the time I thought "Huh, I expected so much more than this."

Thanks for reminding me of "Expected more..." I really did. Shame. I could joke "Expected so little and got even less." but that's not really all that fair or true.

Curses! My million dollar ideas foiled again: "God Bless Your Brand!" http://www.christvertising.com/

Didn't want her to run
My hope was that she would keep running for Senate, stay there, become a power base, bring in more women and change the face of the Senate forever.

But psychologically, I don't think she could have avoided a run, both to claim her own place on the stage since the Senate ain't big enough, and also as a way of coping with the tremendous shame of his impeachment etc. etc. etc.

Wouldn't it have been nice if she had been in therapy with someone who had said, "You know, you don't have to run for President to deal with your shame--there are other ways!"

Thanks for my best laugh of the day!
The sheer ridiculousness of this is amazing!  My 2-year-old tells better stories!

Hillary is a Liar
Just like her husband.  Whereas I respected his presidency, his handling of the Lewinski issue was spineless and opportunistic, just as was his handling of DADT.  Bill wanted to be loved, hence his prevaricating.  Hillary wants to be elected, hence hers. What disgusts me as that she will make such egregious claims to her role in Bosnia and in Ulster in the face of documented evidence to the contrary and still expect the electorate to belive her.  The woman has no respect for the American public.  Are her supporters stoopid?  Clearly she seems to think they are.

Sinbad and Cheryl Crow for president
They have just as much foreign policy experience for being on the same USO tour.

"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." -- Thomas Jefferson

I would just like to point out something...
And I am not a die hard Hillary supporter, so please don't attack me.

You don't get to hear the whole speech. Maybe spend a little less on graphics and "funny" sound bites and a little more on substance.

"But it was a moment of great pride for me to visit our troops, not only in our main base as Tuzla, but also at two outposts where they were serving in so many capacities to deactivate and remove landmines, to hunt and seek out those who had not complied with the Dayton Accords and put down their arms, and to build relationships with the people that might lead to a peace for them and their children." http://www.hillaryclinton.com/...

There is a good chance she was referring to any number of other places in Bosnia. Since she did go to.....other places, not just the main air port in Tuzla (that they show in the news clip). Unless Sinbad was with her 24 hours, seven days a week?

I'm just saying, using TV clips I can PROVE without a doubt that something is true, even if its not. Did you know people can fly? I've got a dozen clips of people flying without any machine or other means. Just their own super powers! I can even put little fake quotes in between to prove it.

her camp isn't trying to wiggle out of this one
I don't think there's any doubt they know they are caught on this as a lie, though of course that word isn't used, so it's now down to spin.

Thanks, just read that
I think there still is a chance that the attacks on Hillary are not called for. In all honesty.

Also (just an aside, nothing to do with the questions about HIllary...i.e. I am not attacking the reporter in order to defend anything Hillary said or did).
Also Ann Sannerthe author of the article.....I know her from some where.
until I figure it out, (I want to say Fox News) here are some of her previous works, http://www.thefreelibrary.com/...
See if you notice a pattern. Look at the negative articles about Democratic party members verse some really nasty republican articles. Look at the "Huckabee distances himself" article and than any of the democratic articles. Why did she end the articles so differently, we learned that trick in one of my Poli-Sci/media classes.

also
The Washington Post as your source?!?

Media Matters for America (a liberal group that watches conservative miss-information in the media) has a special link to every false "fact" printed by the Washington Post (I counted 39-40 pieces, so far, labeled as mis-information, just in 2008 alone.) Not exactly the best place to get your news about any Democratic nominee.

Next you'll tell me you use Focus on the Family as the source for all facts about the LGBT community.

I didn't mean you in the above rant :)

Just, when a negative (or even possibly negative) article about Hillary comes out, the blogs seem to get certain people commenting.

It's all attack Hillary, her husband and in a couple of cases I've seen, attack their daughter. Not by republicans, but by Obama supporters. Some posts seethe with a underlining venom that makes me feel ill. I used to joke about the Ron Paul supporters in my Political Science classes, how they were so fanatical that I was worried one or more would do something (Virginia Tech like).

Now I'm worried about some of the Obama supporters. He's a great guy and a possible great president; but people get a grip! He's (as far as I know) still human and not worthy of this level of fanatical devotion. Save your bile for the republicans ;)

The same can be said for HRC supporters, y'know
Mostly because the primaries have gone on too long. Also because a lot of political amateurs who only get interested in the process once every 4 years don't know the difference between an opponent and an enemy. A lot of it is perception too. The current political climate sees alternate views as attacks, when it's really just an opposing viewpoint. I try to focus on the actual issues, it keeps the discussion more honest and the rage down.

The biggest takeaway from this primary is that I was right in 2004; Howard Dean would not have made a good president.

Well, yes.
According to her official first lady schedule, she was only in Bosnia for 9 hours. From Salon,

On Wednesday, the National Archives released 11,046 pages of Clinton's schedule as first lady. These include her schedule for March 25, 1996, during her one-day trip to Bosnia.

Clinton was set to land at Tuzla Air Base at 8:45 a.m. And if a sniper was about, it's a good thing the welcome ceremony was canceled, since it included U.S. ambassador John Menzies, a seventh-grade class and an 8-year-old Bosnian girl who was supposed to read Clinton a poem.

She did then go to a meeting with Acting President Ejup Ganic, which lasted 10 minutes. This was followed by a "roundtable discussion" moderated by Menzies from 9:35 to 10:45. Clinton was then supposed to meet with some nongovernmental organizations for 30 minutes.

She then received a very important-sounding "Task Force Eagle" briefing. It lasted 15 minutes. Next, Clinton got an hourlong tour of a military camp, lunch with the troops and a second hourlong tour of another military camp. (Travel between locations took some time, too.)

By 3:45 it was time for a show for the troops back at Tuzla, with entertainment provided by singer Sheryl Crow and comedian Sinbad. Her flight was set to leave at 5:45 p.m.

In case you like primary documents, here's a PDF of the official record of her schedule that day.
