The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Oklahoma paper publishes unhinged Kern letter to the editor

by: Pam Spaulding

Sat Mar 29, 2008 at 11:30:00 AM EDT

(Note to Blenders: Oklahomans for Equality and Cimarron Alliance are on the frontlines as Wildmon's American Family Association, the Family Resource Council, the Thomas More Law Center and the rest of the professional "Christian" set are backing Kern. A "Christian Free Speech" rally in her Kern's defense will be held at the state capital on Wed. Laura Belmonte president, OkEq is grateful for the advice and letters/calls of support, but you probably won't be surprised that between OkEq and Cimarron -- the two largest and oldest LGBT rights groups in Oklahoma -- there are only 2.5 staff members with tiny combined annual budgets, with  volunteers trying to effect change -- help them out if you can.)

It appears that State Rep. Sally Kern is desperately trying to rally her base with behavior and commentary even more asinine and hateful -- if that is even possible.

In a local publication, The Bethany (OK) Tribune, there is a letter to the editor under her name that is completely off the deep end. A snippet:

Anyone who thinks there is no homosexual agenda need only look here in Oklahoma to the newly formed Equal Rights Project created to help elect candidates by bridging the gay/straight community. The Equal Rights Project states "We felt we were uniquely qualified to help those running in the South and the Bible Belt. Running in these communities is much different than in California and New York. Our idea was to train, educate and support all candidates who support equal rights for all."

Homosexuals are already citizens who have equal rights. They want "special rights" for the acceptance of their deviant lifestyle. I'm thankful that Oklahoma is different than California and New York. I pray it stays that way.

The entire letter is below the fold, along with an account by a local who saw her speak and spew more bigotry.
Pam Spaulding :: Oklahoma paper publishes unhinged Kern letter to the editor
Out comes the junk science again:
Here are some facts for my recent comments about the homosexual agenda. Health Issues: According to the CDC, men who have sex with men (MSM) have an HIV prevalence 60 times higher than the general population. The CDC found that MSM comprise only 1-2 percent of the population yet account for 64 percent of all syphilis cases. "The International Journal of Epidemiology" states that the mortality rate for those engaging in homosexual relations before age 20 have their life expectancy reduced by as much as 30 years. The CDC found both Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B disproportionately affects MSM. The study "The Longevity of Homosexuals" found that the average lifespan for lesbians is only slightly higher than that of homosexual men.

Homosexuals insist they are born gay, yet a study by Dr. Neil Whitehead and Briar Whitehead on various cultures states: "If homosexuality were influenced by genes, it would appear in every culture, but in 29 of 79 cultures surveyed in 1952, homosexuality was rare or absent." Regarding homosexual couples and domestic violence, a recent study by the Canadian government states that "violence was twice as common among homosexual couples compared with heterosexual couples." The American College of Pediatricians cites studies (that report), "Violence among homosexual partners is two to three times more common than among married heterosexual couples."

The homosexual agenda's influence on education is evident from their own organization's literature. Re-authorization of the federal Head Start program assesses children based on the radical ideas of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Head Start curricula and assessments include gender issues, diversity and multiculturalism. A homosexual advocacy group, Safe Schools Coalition, has books for ages 2 to 8 promoting homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism.

The book, "Tackling Gay Issues in Schools," for K-12 gives teachers reasons for including homosexual, bisexual and transsexual lifestyles in schools. The Gay Straight Alliance offers instruction on teaching homosexuality in every subject. The Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN) has materials promoting the homosexual lifestyle. The National Education Association is sending all 16,000 public school districts in the U.S. a 24-page pro-homosexual booklet telling students that homosexuality is normal. "It's Elementary" is a training video used in schools to persuade children that the homosexual lifestyle is normal. There is a homosexual agenda in our schools.

Sally Kern, District 84
Oklahoma State Representative

The Tribune, by the way is, according to its web site, is a community leader and advocate" published by former Journalism teacher and Putnam City school board member Gloria Quaid. The paper can be contacted here, where you can also submit a letter to the editor.

***

Oklahoman Michael Heaton actually went to hear Mrs. Kern at a meeting of the University of Central Oklahoma's College Republicans the other night. About 75 people showed up to watch Sally Kern let her religious bigotry flag fly high.

The best stuff was during the Q&A when she called those who did not believe in Christianity, "infidels," and that Islam is a real danger to America because Christianity is the only path to salvation, and that if we doubted the "Homosexual lifestyle" was bad for people's health, all we had to do was look at the CDC website. Likewise, If we doubted that gays are indoctrinating kids in school, just Google search "homosexual agenda" and behold the proof that pops up. Additionally, she really did seem to lay it on Islam rather hard tonight, even though she couldn't even pronounce the word "Sharia." I had to help her out with that one from the audience. (Just wait for the audio).

She was well challenged during the Q&A, and she only got one softball question that I counted. When given the opportunity (again) to apologize, she refused, and at least two students got up, left, and flipped her off on the way out. I'm glad they gave her their best gay face.
He has a lot more to say about the event -- read the rest.

Pro-Sally Rally planned
The Oklahoma Conservative Political Action Committee sent out an email promoting the upcoming rally, and it's a doozy.

...Victory Fund
Just got a letter from the Victory Fund claiming vistory over Sally. I have replied with this thread and comments.  Hope they listen as victory apparently not even close.

....read Michael
He not only went to hear her, he was with her in the elevator! Its a good blog, but her 'portrait' is the best part.

she has guts
she doesn't give up does she?  why is she is so homo-obsessed?

http://www.queersunited.blogspot.com

Why?
It gets her brownie points with her redneck constituants, that's why.  Any politician's primary goal is staying in office, no matter who you have to trash to do it.  And, pulling out the gay boogy-man is a classic, sure-fire,  tactic.

[ Parent ]
Perhaps because
she and her ilk really do believe that homosexuality is a choice.  Unfortunately, not everyone has the luxury of being bisexual.
She's probably so homo-obsessed because she probably has had some sinful thoughts about the women around her and she is upset about that.  She can't stop thinking about homos because she keeps getting tempted.  Fundie Christianity does weird things to people's brains and their self image.  If she would just feel free to accept or even enjoy the thought of a nice evening with a pretty lady she would probably be a much healthier (mentally) person.  If she would ever act on those feelings, even more so.  Alas, these militant christianists don't see it that way.  They think that it's the gays who are mentally ill, not themselves.  I also think that we can include The Peter in this.  People don't generally get obsessed with things that don't involve them, let alone make a career out of it.  With Wrong Tall Sally, it's also probably for votes.

My America includes LGBT families.

[ Parent ]
oh my
not everyone has the luxury of being bisexual.

That statement just made me smile :)

Of course, bisexuals probably piss folks like her off more.  In their mind, a bisexual is even more perverted because they are really heterosexuals who choose to engage in acts of perversion with someone of the same sex.

Considering their obsession is about sex and they think homosexuality is purely a sexual thing, I can only presume they have no personal experience with loving intimate relationships and that their "sacred" marriages are nothing but contracts for a woman to give a man heirs as a way to pay for her room and board.

The Good Ol' Daze
"If homosexuality were influenced by genes, it would appear in every culture, but in 29 of 79 cultures surveyed in 1952, homosexuality was rare or absent."

I betcha that most people deemed worthy of surveying in 1952 would have said there was no racial segregation in America then.

Sally Kern's good ol' daze.

Where it will stop, only she knows.

If I lived in a country where I'd be killed if I was accused of being gay
I'd probably keep quiet about it, also.

Glad to see she's applying the most rigorous standards she knows how to ensure the truth of the matters she alleges.

If I lived in Oklahoma, I'd be demandinig a recall as she's clearly unfit for duty. I'm glad I don't live in Oklahoma, given the public face of that state = bigotry.

[ Parent ]
I used to work with a fellow...
from another country, and he said he didn't understand why America had homosexuals. He claimed that in his country, there were none, evidenced by the fact that everyone got married and had children. I was somewhat familiar with the culture. What he failed to recognize was that in his country, parents arrange marriages for their children, picking the spouses, once they determined "it's time". Without protest, the children would come home, get married, and eventually produce the requisite number of children. But guess what, even with all that, there still are people there who prefer be with and have sex with the same gender.

[ Parent ]
Proof that Kern uses bad studies. And Paul Cameron is one of them.
Now we are getting to the point of which i am talking about. Kern in her letter said:

"The International Journal of Epidemiology" states that the mortality rate for those engaging in homosexual relations before age 20 have their life expectancy reduced by as much as 30 years."

However, in 2001, the authors of the study in question wrote a letter to the editor of the International Journal of Epidemiology saying that their work was being distorted by the religious right. I guess Kern didn't get the letter.

And what Canadian government study is she talking about?

Finally that study she cited - "The Longevity of Homosexuals" - is from our friend Paul Cameron

[ Parent ]
Found the study...
See my link below. It's not the study's fault, but how she and others at Conservepedia chose to use the data for "sound bite" purposes.

From what I see so far
This is the place where I think Sally picked up most of her lies/facts.

http://www.conservapedia.com/H...

I've already downloaded the pdf file of the Canadian Survey (2006) and have made it to page 14 of the 97 page booklet . I've only seen one tiny mention of same sex violence. It just said that same sex relationships were included as part of the study on violence against women. The bulk of the booklet seems to be dealing with violence against women by their male partners. The study is about violence against women and includes common-law relationships as well as marriage. The above webiste only listed the booklet as a reference but didn't give any page numbers so I guess I'm reading the whole booklet to find the spot they are using. If I had done a reference like this in school, I'd have failed.

[ Parent ]
There's a Homosexual Organization?
And it publishes an Agenda?

Why am I always left off the important mailing list about these things.

They probably want dues or something, though.

How come straight people always know about this stuff but no one tells the queers?

Conservepedia entry
http://www.conservapedia.com/H...

This is where her "information" came from. Refererence #1, the 2004 General Social Survey, is 97 pages. I went through the entire pdf and found on pg 16:

"The data from the 2004 General Social Survey (GSS) on victimization related to spousal violence include a small number of same sex relationships; however, the numbers were too small to make statistically reliable estimates separately for women and men."

Pg 38:

"Violence perpetrated in same sex couples is an important area of study but very little data exist to describe the extent or nature of the problem. The 2004 GSS inquired about sexual orientation and results showed that spousal violence was twice as common among homosexual couples compared with hetero couples: 15% to 7% respectively. It was not possible to calculate rates of spousal violence for male and female couples separately due to low sample sizes."

Now, one thing I remember from being a lab tech for almost 15 years is statistics and how easily they can get skewed! If they had questioned 2 couples and 1 happened to have had an issue, that could have been reported as 50%!!

Had they had been able to interview the same number of couples, the 15% vs 7% would have been valid for comparison. But twice within the same quoted report , it is clearly stated the author's admission that few same sex couples were used to compile the data and more in-depth research needs to be done to give an accurate picture.

BTW...
...the whole reason I went through the document in the first place is because what she was saying just plain went so contrary to my life's experience. I realize people are people and violence is fairly prevalent within all groups, but I have had far too many gay couples for long-term next-door neighbors, friends, and coworkers and have never ONCE seen/heard/suspected any sort of violence within their homes.

And goodness knows, rowhouse walls are NOT sound-proof! ;)

Thanks
I hadn't made it that far yet.

[ Parent ]
No problem
I actually enjoyed taking "statistics" (which is pretty dry mathematical stuff) in college and was able to scan through the entire thing quickly, but where it's a pdf, had to scribble down verbatum sections rather than cut 'n paste. Bleah.

Too bad Kern et al couldn't/wouldn't do the same, eh? But hunting out the truth doesn't help their "cause" so much as feeding their lies and vitriol to the masses. These are truly evil sick people.

Open comment to Sally
GO F--K YOURSELF YOU LOUSY C_NT!  In fact, why don't you get the Peter, Daddy D, Bam-Bam Barber, Tony Perkins, and the rest of the Christofascists together and have a nice, big holy orgy in the process!!

Note to Pam. . .Sorry for the language, but I've had my fill of Sally & Company's ignorant rantings!

Now now...
Sex is for fun, not hate! :) I wouldn't wish them any pleasure whatsoever, which is probably half of their problem in the first place.

They do seem awfully sex obsessed
I don't spend any time contemplating what straight people do in their bedrooms. (And as long as they keep it behind closed doors, it's fine with me...)

This crowd is amazingly obsessed with gay sex. (I wonder if they realize that many of the things they're obsessed with aren't acts limited to gay people...probably not...they don't seem big on discerning analysis.)

[ Parent ]
Not to Worry Louise
They'd probably all be wearing chastity belts anyway!

[ Parent ]
They're having it as we speak.
They don't just hate gay people, they LOVE to hate gay people. They get an orgasmic rush every time they publicly spew their anti-gay bile, and a full-on whenever they find a new anti-gay convert.

[ Parent ]
My Goodness!
Have you looked at what this Conservapedia site says about Homosexuality? According to this site, I should have died thirty or more years ago. And I should have so many things wrong with me that my doctor should be able to take a holiday to some exotic port once a month just from having me as a patient. I should have HIV (of course), every STD known to man, parasites, Hepatitis, I'm more likely to have a smoking habit, more likely to be a brutal murderer, more likely to be obese than a het(and bulimic at the same time), more likely to be suffering from psychiatric problems such as suicide, depression, bulimia, antisocial personality disorder, and substance abuse, more likely to either be a pedophile or at least be accepting of pedophiles (or according to the article, if I don't like pedophiles, it's because I look at pedophiles as competition), more likely to tolerate or participate in public indecency... The list goes on and on. Oh, and someone let them get a hold of our Homosexual Agenda because they seem to have a copy of it published there. And you guys...you are even worse off than us lesbians because you have all of the above and more.
Honestly, they must have some really obsessed homophobic people over there. I can't believe what I'm actually reading, especially the fact that they have tried to make it look like some high brow, referenced material that must be true. They are SICK  people at Conservapedia.

It is my greatest hope...
...that Sally Kern rides this spotlight for all it's worth and NEVER shuts up about her hate for the "homosexual agenda".

Someone really should give her an even bigger megaphone than some local letter to the editor.

The more people that hear her impossibly ignorant comments, the more the world will wake up and see this issue for what it is really about -- bigotry, plain and simple.

"To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best day and night to make you like everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight and never stop fighting." -E.E. Cummings

...seconded.
Hope her 'story' is broadcast FAR AND WIDE.

It's the Hammer of JUSTICE,
It's the Bell of FREEDOM,
It's the Song about LOVE between,
my Brothers and my Sisters
...All over this Land.

Sally Kern...
With people like her as teachers it's no wonder the education system sucks so bad. I've seen rocks that were smarter. There's cats and dogs with more intelligence than that lady has.
