The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Clinton told to 'desist from repeating' false health care horror story

by: Pam Spaulding

Sat Apr 05, 2008 at 19:00:00 PM EDT

I simply do not understand this. With all the true health care nightmares out there to use to illustrate why the system is broken, why does Hillary Clinton and her staff let her tell complete fables on the campaign trail?

In this case it's not sniper fire legends, but a tale being told that an uninsured woman in Ohio was denied care by a hospital because she couldn't cough up $100 -- and her baby died. The hospital has now gone public telling Clinton to stop using this story on the stump. Her high-paid staff draining those dwindling donations never bothered to vet the story to stop their candidate from repeating yet another fantasy yarn. (NYT):

Over the last five weeks, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York has featured in her campaign stump speeches the story of a health care horror: an uninsured pregnant woman who lost her baby and died herself after being denied care by an Ohio hospital because she could not come up with a $100 fee.

The woman, Trina Bachtel, did die last August, two weeks after her baby boy was stillborn at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio. But hospital administrators said Friday that Ms. Bachtel was under the care of an obstetrics practice affiliated with the hospital, that she was never refused treatment and that she was, in fact, insured.

"We implore the Clinton campaign to immediately desist from repeating this story," said Rick Castrop, chief executive officer of the O'Bleness Health System.

More below the fold.

Linda M. Weiss, a spokeswoman for the not-for-profit hospital, said the Clinton campaign had never contacted the hospital to check the accuracy of the story, which Mrs. Clinton had first heard from a Meigs County, Ohio, sheriff's deputy in late February.

A Clinton spokesman, Mo Elleithee, said candidates would frequently retell stories relayed to them, vetting them when possible. "In this case, we did try but were not able to fully vet it," Mr. Elleithee said. "If the hospital claims it did not happen that way, we respect that."

I love that non-apology -- as if the hospital was the fantasist in question. The Jed Report:
How do you manage to tell a story like this without bothering to check any of the facts?

Is this the cavalier approach towards the truth that she would take as president?

She is an exceptionally good prevaricator, but in the age of the internet even the best will trip themselves up, especially once their tendencies become well-known. And clearly, her tendencies have become well-known.

You have to watch the video. The confidence with which Clinton tells her story is astounding -- you'd never know that she was making most of it up as she went along.

This drip...drip...drip effect on perceptions of Clinton's honesty is showing up in the polls here in NC; our primary is on May 6.
A new poll in North Carolina - which after the April 22 Pennsylvania primary, is the next big prize on the campaign trail - says a key element in Obama's success is that the state's voters value trust over experience. The survey for the Charlotte Observer/WCNC-TV reported that only 25 percent of voters gave high marks to Clinton for trustworthiness compared to 48 percent for Obama and 54 percent for Arizona Sen. John McCain. Nearly 9 in 10 voters said trust would be a major factor in deciding how they would vote.

Surveys in North Carolina have consistently shown Obama with a big lead over Clinton, and that was underscored again today in a new Rasmussen Reports poll. The poll, conducted April 3, says Obama's lead over Clinton has now soared to 56 percent to 33 percent.

***

And is there anyone out there that can clear up this mystery for me -- why hasn't Clinton campaign "strategist" Mark Penn been fired yet? I'm serious -- the latest gaffe is that it was revealed that the Colombian government was a client of his firm -- and he met with officials to discuss a trade pact, an agreement that Hillary opposes. What an embarrassment -- Penn had to trot out and call it an "error in judgment," which then resulted in the Colombian government drop kicking him for showing a "lack of respect."

Again, this kind of dumb mistake/conflict of interest reeks of amateur hour -- a campaign that keeps shooting itself in the foot, so incompetent that Obama doesn't have to lift a finger. It's not as though Obama hasn't made big mistakes, but he hasn't had a continuous string of missteps like this, the kind that most seasoned political professionals avoid. It's surprising (and distressing) on many levels, since she and her husband have a lot of experience under political fire, you'd think that would translate into running a tight operation free of leaks and obvious gaffes.  If you had told me a year ago that her campaign operation was going to be this shabby, I wouldn't have believed you.

What kind of dirt does Penn have on Bill and Hillary to keep his job? Really, anyone who f*cked up this much in the real world would have lost their job by now.

The real story...
As I understand it, this poor woman actually died from sniper fire while trying to get to one of Hillary's rallys.

Question:  What does an atheist do when they fall to the floor and start "speaking in tongues"?

Answer: Get a CAT scan.

PTSD
Clinton got the facts wrong because her memory is blurred after that traumatic incident where she was shot at by Sinbad during a mud-wrestling match with Sheryl Crow.  It was in Slovenia, I think.  Transylvania, maybe.  One of the "-nia" countries.  Oh, I remember now: Pennsylvania.

The answer to your question is simple, Pam
The Clintons are used to working in government, so it has just never occurred to them that it is possible to fire someone for being incompetent.  They figured that they were just stuck with him.

As far as never vetting the story, I believe that Hillary was told about this poor woman and her baby at 3 AM one night, and didn't want to tell anyone that she was so groggy when she answered the phone that she forgot to write down the details.

I love the smell of truthiness in the morning
Why is this so shocking or agitating? It's like seeing a headline read: Clinton opens mouth, lies fall out. Nothing new, it's what most people expect by now. Where anybody got the notion that either Clinton is a truth teller is beyond me.

Mark Penn's firm is very good at playing heads I win, tails you lose. Remember his people are also running the McCain campaign. Working both sides of the fence is what he does.

Colombia was quick to act because they know where the wind is blowing. Why pay Penn more money when it's so highly unlikely that either of his clients will win? They get rid of an underperforming leech and score some damage control for themselves.

Mark Penn
Pam, I have a different question about Penn and the Clinton campaign.  Didn't recent reports about her indebtedness show that Penn was owed 2.5 million?  And hadn't he earned almost that already?  Given his uneven performance in her less-than-juggernaut campaign, how does he pull down such huge fees?  He doesn't seem worth the expenditure

But I'd also be curious to know about the Obama and McCain campaigns.  How much are they paying their consultants?

McCains entire staff is made up of lobbyists
Hey Lev,

I saw a breakdown of the top aides to the campaigns - McHypocrite wins the prize -

http://www.washingtonpost.com/...

Quoting from the article:

"His campaign manager, Rick Davis, co-founded a lobbying firm whose clients have included Verizon and SBC Telecommunications. His chief political adviser, Charles R. Black Jr., is chairman of one of Washington's lobbying powerhouses, BKSH and Associates, which has represented AT&T, Alcoa, JPMorgan and U.S. Airways."

As for Obama, who has made a point of not accepting donations fron lobbyists -

WSJ March 1 2008

http://online.wsj.com/public/a...

"Stumping in Ohio last weekend, he also criticized presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain for putting lobbyists "in charge of his campaign," the Associated Press reported. McCain campaign manager Rick Davis and top adviser Charlie Black are registered lobbyists.

That doesn't mean Sen. Obama has shunned lobbyists altogether. Business lobbyists often are the most knowledgeable people on policy issues, and since many got their start on Capitol Hill or at federal regulatory agencies, they often have strong grasps of both politics and policy -- expertise that presidential campaigns, including Sen. Obama's, need.

Daniel Shapiro, who advises Sen. Obama on foreign policy issues, is registered to lobby on behalf of the American Petroleum Institute and other corporate clients. Broderick Johnson, a friend and informal political adviser, heads up the lobbying arm in Washington of the Bryan Cave LLP law firm, where he represents Verizon and Shell Oil, among other clients."

Personally I don't believe that it would make good sense NOT to speak with lobbyists - as evil as many of them are, they certainly do know the issues.

Clinton Campaign -

Woweewowwowow! Its a feeding frenzy for lobbyists!

From Judicial Watch -

http://www.judicialwatch.org/b...

"In keeping with the Clinton family tradition of proudly accepting cash from the shadiest of sources, Hillary Clinton has raised more money from lobbyists than any other presidential candidate-Democrat or Republican.

The former First Lady took $823,097 from registered lobbyists and members of their firms last year, nearly double the amount of the second-biggest recipient (Republican presidential candidate John McCain) who accepted $416,321 from lobbyists in 2007.

Illinois Senator Barack Obama, Clinton's incredibly strong rival for the Democratic nomination, doesn't take cash from registered lobbyists but he did accept nearly $100,000 from employees of firms that do quite a bit of lobbying."

I cannot see any way a campaign can be held responsible for contributions from employees - how many of us here have worked in jobs for companies we were politically opposed to in the course of our lives?

The same logic which says that employee contributions = 'bought by the employing company' would have us believe Hillarie's argument that people who voted for her in the primaries in Ohio, California, Florida, Michigan, etc will not vote for Obama in November.  Somehow - if Clinton  is not the nominee, all these voters will go to McCain?  Huh?

So far it seems that Obama remains mostly clean and Clinton and McCain are simply running traditional bought and paid for "business as usual" campaigns.

Nonono...
you're just Hillary bashing!! Sniff- you're just being MEAN!!

Facts do NOT matter. Getting a woman as POTUS does. By any means AT ALL.

Whoops; did I say that out loud??

Girl Power
That's the excuse, I mean reason, that my sister-in-law gave for voting for Hilary in the MA primary... "girl power." Besides it being a stupid phrase, it was not a very intelligent reason in my view... I wonder if she's changed her opinions of Hilary since then.
I never cared for H.C. so no change there.
