Noose found at Secret Service training center

Let me say this another way: The folks in charge of keeping the President safe are putting race before competence.

And the lead story is the NOOSE?

Is this thing on!!??!?

Not that a noose in one's workplace is a good thing, mind you, but an admission form my employer that the color of my skin will affect my likelihood of getting ahead in that job is the far more powerful statement.

But wait, there's more!

All they have to do with the files is to redact home addresses and social security numbers, duh. The agent blamed for the noose is maliciously dim, either in thinking it up himself or letting him be set up as a distraction. But I blame the superiors more.  

I'm sure white privilege is hoping that eventually they will just go ahead and kill Senator Obama.  He was suppose to be dead by now - they called the watch off at his stump speech in Texas.

Letting folks go thru the detectors w/o frisking and checking them.  The local police was forced to and they didn't like it.  Yeah, Senator Obama was supposed to have seen his demise then.

I was a lifelong and proud Independent from when I was first eligible to vote in 1984 onward. Maine had the first Ind governor, Jim Longley, when I was a kid and his was one of my first political influences. I have never missed a vote, even in "off" seasons. I've supported both Rep and Dem candidates, never having any problem with not aligning myself to either party. Even though I helped the 2006 Maine DNC and candidates in Augusta...

But when I heard of the Secret Service walking away and not protecting Barack Obama last February, I was so shaken and angered that even though Maine had already held its caucuses, I went to our town office and finally declared myself a Democrat.

This story equally infuriates me. I know Pam's approach to be a correct path of calm, reason, erasure of ignorance, and open conversations. But how on Earth we eliminate this sort of threat, which is so damned pervasive and "protected" by even our government... ugh.

We need laws, where this is seen as an open threat and a crime, prosecutable and punishable as if it were a gun brought to a workplace. With higher penalties for Federal offenses like this.
