Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Clinton Loaned Her Campaign $6.4 Million Last Month

by: Autumn Sandeen

Wed May 07, 2008 at 10:30:00 AM EDT

If one of the metrics for the success of a particular presidential campaign is how much the candidate can fundraise and spend, then the Sen. Clinton loaning her campaign $6.4 million this past month -- adding to the $5 million she had already had loaned her campaign previously -- probably isn't a good metric for the continued viability of the Clinton campaign.

WASHINGTON (AP) - A campaign aide says Hillary Rodham Clinton lent herself $6.4 million in the past month.

Politically wounded and financially strapped, Clinton plunged back into the presidential campaign Wednesday even as Barack Obama declared that Tuesday's primary results left him with a "clear path to victory."

Obama beat Clinton soundly in North Carolina and fell just short in an Indiana cliffhanger, a rebound for the Illinois senator that presented Clinton with fast-dwindling chances to deny him the Democratic presidential nomination.

The loan more than doubles Clinton's personal investment in her bid for the Democratic nomination. She gave her campaign $5 million earlier this year.

Clinton has been struggling financially behind the record fundraising of her Democratic rival, Barack Obama...

I just listened to MSNBC this morning, where Howard Wolfson confirmed this AP story. And, he said Sen. Clinton is prepared to loan her campaign even more later, if required.

I know I wonder how much longer Sen. Clinton can or should go on with a significantly self-financed campaign, especially given results like North Carolina's and Indiana's primary results last night.

Electability - The 2008 code word for "A black man can't be elected"
I am getting really, really tired of hearing the Clinton campaign claiming that America isn't ready to elect a Black man as President.  Yet that is exactly what they are saying every time they use the "electability" argument.  Hell, they don't even try to hide it.  For example:
(The Clinton campaign) said the results showed that Clinton continued to gain the support of the white, working-class voters they contend will be key to winning Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio and other swing states in November.

Yep.  According to them, White is the key to winning.  Says a lot about how Mrs. Clinton views her fellow Americans, doesn't it?
One candidate wants to fool Americans with phony issues such as flag pins and middle names and the other wants to draw Americans together to work on the real problems that face our country.
Can America see beyond skin color yet?  Yes we can!

A large portion of American CAN'T see beyond skin color.
The question is, were those people likely to vote Democratic in the first place?

"electability" was also used in 2004
when all the major candidates were white.  some people might be trying to send a bigoted message by using the term, but it isn't necessarily so.  it's also been applied to hillary clinton, btw.

A Legend in her Own Mind
Which explains the self-financing.

The contrast between the two candidates couldn't have been greater last night.  Obama's speech was uplifting, even poetic (and pundits asking for policy proposals were living in a fantasy world and had no sense of the moment).

Clinton's speech was pedestrian, tired, stale.  But most alarming was how Bill Clinton could not stay out of the frame.  He was constantly hovering behind her, and my spouse said sagely: "See that? That's a Clinton presidency.  He'll always be right there, dogging every word and footstep, and the press will always be asking him his opinion of what she says and does."

As for "white, working class voters," the only sensible comment I heard all night last night was from analyst Jeffrey Toobin on CNN ho cut through all the bullshit and said, "Hey! Democrats don't do well with that demographic anyway--what's the surprise?"

Yet they natter on and on about this without spending equal time on Hillary's pathetic showing among a Democratic core constituency: back voters.  Pam has treated that bleed, and I also highly recommend this column for Huffpost which uses facts. not spin:

Clinton's a Working Class Hero (NYT)
With Right Props and Stops, Clinton Transforms Into Working-Class Hero

"She's a working mom," Tracy Zettel, who works for a health insurance company, said Saturday while waiting for Mrs. Clinton to appear in Cary, N.C. "That's what I am."

"A good ol' girl," Clyde Swedenberg, owner of a small jewelry store, called her in Lakeside Park, N.C.

After listening to her speak in Fort Wayne, Ind., on Sunday, Joe Jakacky, a warehouse worker, remarked that Mrs. Clinton had started out just like he did, in a menial job.

I'm a working mom. I don't have $6.4 million.

According to the article, her "menial job" experience was in college (Wellesley, yep, that's very working class), though her biography never mentioned it, nor has she ever before told this tale. Though Daddy paid for tuition, he refused to pay more than that.

"If I wanted a book or a cup of coffee, I had to pay for it with money I made," she said Monday at a community college in Greenville, N.C. She never says the name Wellesley.

Clinton apparently views her fellow white, working-class Americans as "useful idiots" who are easily, willingly fooled. Everything she says is code for "It's MY turn, dammit! And I'm not leaving until I prove it!"

Having menial jobs for a while doesn't mean
one is or has much knowledge of the working class. I had a number of menial jobs of the fast food variety when I was in high school and college, but there was never any doubt in my family that I would go to college.

McGovern: pack it in, Hil
So what will it take to get her to see the light (besides the empty wallet)?
Former South Darkota Senator George McGovern has reversed his endorsement of Senator Hillary Clinton and urged her to drop out of the race for president following her showing in Indiana and North Carolina.

McGovern says he now endorses Barack Obama. He was the Democratic nominee in 1972, when he lost to then-President Richard Nixon.

McGovern himself was instrumental in the current nominating process, which weighs caucuses and primaries more heavily than superdelegates. The 85-year-old Democrat was named chairman of a Democratic Commission on Party Structure and Delegate Selection in 1969. In part, due to his urging, the commission cut back the power of party officials and insiders and increased the roles of caucuses and primaries.

Good!
I hope she and Bill end up as financially bankrupt as they are ethically bankrupt.

Hillary-hate
I am really sick of the Hillary-hate and misogyny on left wing blogs. I come here because Pam is on the side of blacks, gays, and women and find Obama-land here too.
Hillary is a strong woman, for women and children, has better health care plans, is better for working people. No she's not black but no one called the Clintons racist until Obama's people started whining.
A good debate on the pros and cons of who to support is great but Hillary is not evil and Obama is far from perfect. His sexist digs at Hillary and his arrogant childish ploys and whining are not very attractive.

Hillary is NOT for this woman or her children
You want good debate and I agree. But the language you chose regarding Obama is tinged with Obama-hate. In other  words, as people express who they support, we all tend to reveal some passion about it - "Obama-land", "whining", "arrogant childish", etc.

Let it be noted that as a lesbian with 4 children, in a committed relationship and as a small business owner -- there is nothing in Sen. Clinton's policies, past, present or promised, that supports me or my children.

I worked for my mildly successful business without the help or support of a rich father, or politically successful husband. When I write that fatter and fatter self-employment, etc. tax check to support a tyrannical government - I want to support someone who won't do politics as usual.

Hillary is disingenuous at best. And the "elitist" charge against Obama is laughable, except that people actually fall for it.

What "hate"?
After reading your comment I went back and re-read everything before it and couldn't find anything I would call hateful.

Paul in SF... I wasn't calling any comment "hateful"
Just to be clear, I was responding to Carolyn in Baltimore's post about "Hillary-hate", which she expressed using words that I think are tinged with "Obama-hate" -- with that phrase chosen as a counterpoint to Carolyn's phrase. Not hateful words, but having the same type of bite to them that Carolyn says she is tired of hearing directed at Hillary.

By the way, your post above about the "electability" code word was an astute and accurate observation, imho.

It goes both ways
LAwaters27, makes some good points.  Your arguement would come across better if you weren't doing the same thing that you blame others of doing.  And can you give specific examples where Obama lobbed sexist attacks against Hillary Clinton?  Or where he has whinned?  I think we are all passionate about the people we support, and if you are going to discuss politics, you should be prepared that others won't always support the candidate that you like.

There's nothing sexist about criticizing Hillary Clinton for pandering, going along with the polls, or not being afraid to throw an entire race under the bus.  Nor criticizing her for continuously changing the goal posts in this contests or the rules.  One minute the popular vote should be the decider the next big state wins.  One day all votes should count, but not those cast in caucuses.  You can't fault people for being upset about these things.

[ Parent ]
Exactly my point
Cadence, that's exactly what I meant -- thanks! And I agree, the old politics of "say anything just to get elected" is a huge part of the problem. Nothing can be trusted. All that posturing and posing and nothing ever actually gets done. The power grabs and then fighting to stay in -- or get back in -- power. It's maddening.

I've said elsewhere that Hillary does not represent me as a woman, nor does she offer any policy that actually helps me, my partner or our children. On global issues, she will "obliterate" - hardly the way to rebuild our relationships.

I'm tired of criticisms of her candidacy being labeled sexism. Does that mean that we have to be nicer to her because she's female? Isn't that just sexism "dressed up and playing nicely"?

I'm no fan of the Clinton's. She almost won me over after her early appearance on Logo. But it didn't last. She can't hide her true political nature for long.

Hope Bill has more speaking engagements lined up

At this rate they will be broke in 10 weeks LOLOL

Question:  What does an atheist do when they fall to the floor and start "speaking in tongues"?

Answer: Get a CAT scan.
