The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

SC: HS principal quits over mandate to allow gay-straight alliance

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed May 21, 2008 at 19:00:00 PM EDT

(Read South Carolinian Alvin McEwan's take on this, "Principal in my state gets it right and wrong.")

Irmo High School Principal Eddie Walker prayed on it, and he decided he just can't go on in his job if there is a gay-straight alliance formed at his school. (QNotes):

In a letter sent to the student body and faculty, and obtained by WIS News 10 Columbia, Irmo High School Principal Eddie Walker wrote, "The formation of this club conflicts with my professional beliefs in that we do not have other clubs at Irmo High school based on sexual orientation, sexual preference, or sexual activity. In fact our sex education curriculum is abstinence based. I feel the formation of a Gay/Straight Alliance Club at Irmo High school implies that students joining the club will have chosen to or will choose to engage in sexual activity with members of the same sex, opposite sex, or members of both sexes."

..."It is a shame that the principal at Irmo High School in South Carolina decided to place religion-based bigotry and discrimination over his former commitment to his students and staff," Faith In America Executive Director Brent Childers said in a prepared statement. "We truly believe it is unfortunate that this principal cannot see the immense harm that is caused when a social climate of rejection, condemnation and violence is justified with misguided religious belief. To make such a choice over simply allowing gay youth a forum to meet and talk, alludes to the apparent deep-seated prejudice that must exist in the religious mindset of this person."

Q-Notes has Walker's letter.

Being a homosexual
to him is all about sex. That's all they all think about. All the haters. They don't see the human being. They don't think we have feelings. The GSA is not a group that sits around having sex, dumbass! Oh, sorry, not nice. Maybe we should send some literature about the GSA to Mr Walker so he will know what it's all about.

I think it's best...
that he is no longer around children.  I hope he enjoys his retirement.

[ Parent ]
I have to agree
He is really doing us all a favor.

[ Parent ]
Considering Irmo and Lexington County....
he probably objects to any young'ns cavorting in a non-Christian manner. Here's hoping he finds a worse job in some BFE backwater in South Cack.

[ Parent ]
He's right about one thing...

students ... will have chosen to or will choose to engage in sexual activity with members of the same sex, opposite sex, or members of both sexes.

You know, I think it is pretty likely that the students will eventually choose to have sex with the same or opposite sex or both.  Most people eventually do.

Unfortunately for them, the "abstinence-based curriculum" he's boasting of ain't exactly preparing them for it.

And for the gay kids, being told both "wait until you're married" and "the thought of you marrying is abhorrent" doesn't really give them much to go on.

Maybe
he thinks that all the kids will join the clergy of the Catholic Church.  That way they won't ever ... oh ... wait ... never mind.

Boo Hoo Kitty
is all I can say...get a life, get a clue...

at least he is moving on and knocking off the oppression at this school.

unfortunately he will probably be rewarded with a job at some fundie school.

Given his religious belief
he made the right decision. Buh-bye.

You can lead a fool to knowledge, but you can't make him think.

What a

Butthead.

Question:  What does an atheist do when they fall to the floor and start "speaking in tongues"?

Answer: Get a CAT scan.

one down...
about a million to go!

don't let the door
....

I graduated from Camden HS 20 miles from there

I respect this guy ... he is NOT demanding special accomadations for his religious beliefs.  He understands the law, he can't work within the law, he quits.  Ya gotta respect that.

Of course, he is NOT quitting until 2009 ... probably needs an extra year for retirement benefits or the such!  LOL

And yall are 100% on target ... the guy does not understand GSA's ... that they are NOT about sexual activity.  He does not understand that his bigotry is the very reason GSA's need to exist in the first place.

The blog cited in the main story is a good read.  It is a black man in SC who is an author and a blogger.  No friend of Peter's either.  Take a read ...

You're Right Dagon
He probably is waiting for his retirement to kick in. Can't let our morality interfere with that. And as the principal of Irmo High School, he is probably making big bucks. If it is the school I'm thinking of, they are a big school. Our high school band used to compete against theirs.

[ Parent ]
Thats what all in the public forum...

should do if their personal beliefs get in the way of doing their job and supporting equality in this country.

I wouldn't personally work in a porn movie house, but I sure have spent enough  time in a few, so there in, I don't work in an employ that I can't separate my personals from the job whatever you may constru from that.

I think he did right by quiting and I also agree that most kids will experiment with sex with friends of all genders, it's human nature to explore and they need to be loved and supported in their understanding of themselves, not treated with disdain or castigated in any way. They're already doing it, what planet is he from? I started in elementary school. Hide and seek was fun with a girl from down the street and a couple of boys hanging around the school on a saturday ended up in some exploration. Children need to understand and love themselves. We are all human and thats the vision these kinds of people forget when they can no longer perfrom their duties in a public employment.

I'd rather be a lion for one day, than a sheep for my entire life.

good for him for being honest enough to quit!
although as Dagon said, ya hafta wonder just how pressing an issue it really is for him if he's not leaving until 2009.  as for this:
we do not have other clubs at Irmo High school based on sexual orientation, sexual preference, or sexual activity.
so is he saying they never have prom, homecoming king and queen, dances, female cheerleaders for the boys teams, school plays depicting heterosexual people, reading assignments stating the sex-partnerhood status (married?) or sexual residue (children?) of famous people? because all those things are props for [hetero]sexuality, pure and simple.

A friend of mine from
The College of Charleston went to Irmo. Academically it's actually ranked high in the state. In the end the school may be better off. The district should hire a principal who is supportive of GSA's. The resignation is also much preferred to him staying and railing against the club, making LGBT students targets of abuse. I think his religious beliefs are misguided but he has the right to them and made the right decision to quit.

IT'S JUST WEIRD.
Opps, sorry, at work LABELING! lol
If he's quitting for those reasons.. he needs some education.

http://EQFL.org

how typical
To pass judgement before actually talking to young people about the club, getting literature and sitting in on an actual meeting.
GOD FORBID...he actually learn something! God forbid that young people lead the way in showing that gay and straight folks CAN get along and this prepares young people for a future without hate crimes, risk of assault and bullying and a loving, relationship with the gay children they might have someday.

Some religious people are seriously too arrogant to realize when THEY don't know everything and are a liability to civilized interaction.

"My mind is made up!
Don't try to confuse me with facts!"

[ Parent ]
He should go
be principal of a fundamentalist private christian school. God knows there are plenty in South Carolina. Pun intended! Public schools mean just that, "public". Diversity is part of the package.
