The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Gannon: 'I knew Scott better than any other White House correspondent or Washington reporter'

by: Pam Spaulding

Thu May 29, 2008 at 14:30:00 PM EDT

Is there some good old fashioned gay-baiting in the air as the GOP wipes its collective spittle-laden chin over Scott McClellan? Take a look at the musings of former Talon News White House "reporter" Jeff Gannon.
Add me to the growing list of those who are having great difficulty understanding McClellan's motives. I spent two years as a White House reporter, much of it during McClellan's reign. At no time did Scott ever indicate, either publicly or privately, he had the misgivings he expressed in this book.

What I hear about the book does not sound like the Scott McClellan I knew for two years. I can say without fear of contradiction, that I knew Scott better than any other White House correspondent or Washington reporter.

My, my, start up the popcorn popper...Howie Klein already has.
Today the dead-enders still clinging to the hem of Bush's ermine have worked themselves up into a frothy frenzy of righteous indignation over the revelations-- none that are new to anyone who pays even a little attention-- in Scott McClellan's book. It's "total crap." He's a "traitor," a "turncoat," and a "Benedict Arnold." One Bush Regime propaganda tool has even managed to blame their bete noir, George Soros, and the always helpful National Review points out that Scotty is and has always been an agent of Hamas. Yesterday we wondered why none of the Regimebots had been calling Scotty a homo. Well, today the first shot in that direction from the Bush Regime's in-house male prostitute, Gannon/Guckert.

No homo-hunting yet...but I thought I'd give you a peek at some of the Freeper thread headlines regarding Scott McClellan's tell all book...

Actual Freeper Quotes

The WORST Press Secy....EVER....EVER!! What an INCOMPETENT BOOB!! Hillary and Media Matters must have FLIPPED him!!

We knew Scott McClellan was a pussy. Now we know he's a shameless opportunist.

Scott you still suck.

These kiss and tell books about an administration before it is over, don't do us any service IMO. If we're talking about criminality, that's differenct, but if we're talking about how a president chooses to conduct his policies, that's up to him until he is out of office. Then tell all you want. And let the chips fall where they will.

I wish W had chosen Ann Coulter to be his press secretary.

Yep GWB made some very bad choices for a number of positions, this prick McClellan, Rice, Tenant, Powell, etc...

I blame Bush for hiring this guy. I read somewhere that the only reason he was hired was because his family had backed Bush and he had worked for him on one of the campaigns. When you watched him, you could tell he was grossly incompetent. At times, the way he spoke and expressed himself made Bush look like Shakespeare.

Another one of those selfless individuals who "retire" from public service and then try to make a buck on it. Thanks Scott, now hit the road, ya backstabbing bum!

Leaving bogus claims in book aside (have not seen it), McClellan was a horrible press secretary. Every time he went in front of the press he looked like he was ready to cry. He could not think on his feet (not as clueless as Obama, but very close). I would like to know who recommended this moron for the job in the first place.

I hope that GWB has learned that loyalty to incompetent hacks like this isn't all it's cracked up to be. Has GWB ever publicly humiliated or criticized anyone he has appointed, whether he asked them to resign or not? I can't think of any examples, yet so many of these people who didn't do a very good job for his administration end up trashing him.

Exactly. McClellan is a little worm. If it weren't for W and Karen Hughes giving him his shot at the big time he'd still be riding his mommy's coat tails in Texas politics.

And let me add....if somebody wants to know what skills a great press secretary would possess...then take a look at Tony Snow.

I hope that after Bush leaves office that he writes a book and its only topic is what a complete idiot McClellan was (and is).

You know what? The more I sit here and think about this, the angrier I am. What a back stabbing, lowlife, self promoting, sorry excuse for a human being. He's certainly no gentleman. Grrrrrr.........

Scotty was, and still is, a weasely, incompetent, a$$.

A turd on a stick would have made a better spokesman.

I think Tony's replacement, Dana is fabulous also!! Maybe better..

The minute Ari Fleisher stepped down as Press Secretary, the Bush Administration started floundering. You could walk down to the local bar and find people who would have been a far more competent and effective Press Secretary than Scott McClellan. He was the worst, and one of the Bush Administration's biggest failures was their inability to properly explain and defend their actions related to the war in Iraq. McClellan was the idiot who failed most miserably and timidly.

McClellans DAD was the one who said LBJ had JFK assassinated.....which I DO believe.

McClellan was terrible in that position and he is mad about his sad reputation as an effective press secretary. His book will NOT be on my purchase list. Shame on Scotty. I hope he gets shunned by all republicans, as he deserves to be, IF these stories are true. You never know with the media anymore, if they are "reporting" fact or propaganda.

I am not goint to attack McCllellan just because he is attacking President Bush. Almost all the things that he is supposed to be saying here, have been said about Bush right here on FR. I only wonder if he goes and tackles any of the spending bill decisions in the book. Perhaps people are satisfied with Katrina response and did not attack Bush here, but poor war planning, terrible execution, and frustatingly slow to adjusting to realities on ground are realities. Its foolish to deny that. I however completely disagree with his accusation that Bush went into "permanent campaign mode".

NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH. One reason W is in trouble and legacy is in jeapordy IS the fact that he DID NOT SELL HIS VIEWS ENOUGH. He didn't remain in touch with the general public. He isolated himself and retreated to the Oval office and once that connection was broken between President and the people, and on the other hand media was barraging the people with ghastly images and statistics everyday, what other result can one expect? W did not do a good job of educating people on the issues. So McClellan is way off base if he is going to accuse Bush of just being a propoganda artist. Their are no facts to back that up. I have hoped and prayed that W would come out and address those issue everyday. He didn't and he doesn't.

I also don't like innuendo. For instance, he implies Rove and Scooter Libby went behind closed doors to "collude". He says "I have no idea what they discussed, but it seemed suspicious for these two, whom I had never noticed spending any one-on-one time together, to go behind closed doors and visit privately. ...". Gee Scott, maybe they discussed your incompetence in getting the message out. Maybe McClellan is a black helicopter kind of guy. McClellan has NO idea why they met but he knows it had to be nefarious.

"At no time did Scott ever indicate...he had the misgivings"
I heard Ari Fleischer say the same thing yesterday on the radio.  Guess they all got the same press packet.  Sadly, I have yet to hear a journalist suggest that perhaps Scott learned/figured out some damning stuff after he left the White House.  ya think?  duh!

Note that they describe McClellan as a snitch, a backstabber and as faithless
Now the Junta's "in-house male prostitute" is trying to smear him with innuendo that he "knew" (wink, wink) McClellan very well.

But notice the overwhelming silence when it comes to saying that McClellan is lying.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même merde.

The "Non-denial Denial"
Was how it was phrased in All the President's Men. Hearing Scotty on Countdown right now sounds way too much like a modern-day John Dean.

Why didn't he say something back then?
Every time I hear the Uriah Heepish questions from the "puzzled" and "troubled" current and former White House officials--"Why didn't he tell us how he felt?"--it makes me gag.

Okay, you're young, at the center of power, you come from a GOP family, you're intent on making a career in GOP politics or rather continuing the one that's been successful so far, so naturally, if you have doubts or questions about your boss's honesty and ethics, you broadcast them to everyone you work with, right?  You risk getting fired, you risk retribution and the end of your career by taking on a super popular President who is a family friend? You plunge into the void, having seen how mean and vindictive the administration you work for has been to former cabinet offers et al. when they've left and become critical?

Yeah, right.

But, Lev...
The current White House staffers are the ones who are hurt right now so we need to be more sympathetic: Betrayal hurts the ones you love most and usually makes the rest of us really, really happy.

Indeed
As a friend said this morning at the gym:

I have a week's worth of schadenfreude!

And as one says in German, Na so was!

I just hope
that this latest batch of schadenfreude is low carb, because it is so addictively delicious!

Tell him

Oh...
Oh, so NOW Scott McClellan is incompetent. Right, I'm all caught up!

You know, I do really hate to admit it, but I've always thought he kinda cute in that sappy, dorky, chipmunky way. He's the dude I'd drunkenly pick up at a bar and wake up next to the next morning. Oh, Regret, how you know me so well.

Well, actually, he's the type to be out waving for a cab, barely having his pants on, after having himself a happy ending leaving me frustrated, alone, and drunk. Was it me? Something I said or did? But I'm the pretty one...sniff.

Bars' still open? No. Sad.

Oh, yeah, I've had this all worked out.

Now that's funny
It's just a shame Wonkette's been a mess today. I long for their snark on this story.

Everybody's known Scottie is gay for a long time. He's been spotted often enough in Austin's gay bars. And his mother has never made it a secret that one of her boys is gay.

[ Parent ]
Betting
He's also a horrible kisser. All furtive and nervous. Possibly a face licker. The absolute worst of all is: "How am I doing?"

He's definitely all the above so that means I have to go out with him immediately so I can either feel good about myself or need to beat myself up.

Depends on my mood...kinda like how I see myself riding a Metrobus: Either it's for convenience/necessity or to feel pretty. It's give or take with me, babe.

I have to admit...
I think Ann Coulter would actually be a perfect press secretary for this vile administration.

I thought she was already?

I suspect
that she's really Dana Perino without a lot of makeup

Schizophrenic
There has been a seemingly endless parade of administration flacks on cable news for the last day and a half.  And, as usual, they're saying everything they can think of, hoping some of it sticks, blithely oblivious to the fact they're contradicting each other.

The standard line seems to be this "Why didn't he speak up then?" baloney.  But any number of others have claimed dismissively that Scotty was never really part of the "inner circle"--in which case he would hardly have had any chance to speak up in a context that would have been meaningful.  Come one, folks, which way do you want to have it?  Either he  should have found his voice and made a difference, or he was too unimportant to do that.  Can't be both.

Parenthetically, I have to note that I heard rumors that little Scotty was "secretly gay" back then he was still at the WH.  And the Gannon/Guckert connection only fueled them more.  It wouldn't surprise me; I'm never surprised when any right-wing hack turns out to be a closet case (or otherwise hypocritical).

Cynic, n.  A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be.
-Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary

I'm "puzzled and sad"

Why don't we get faxed daily "talking points" like Hannity, Rush, and O'Reilly always seem to have?

I spent about 2 years listening to nothing but Fox radio and Fox TV - Hannity, Rush, that fascist child abuser Boortz, Gallager, and of course that schoolyard bully Ingram...

Every day, all day, straight from the script...frequently they had the same guests on the same day and would ask ***word for word*** the identical questions...and listen to the identical answers.

It would be funny if only it were not so damned effective.

Question:  What does an atheist do when they fall to the floor and start "speaking in tongues"?

Answer: Get a CAT scan.

Gannon
So will we ever learn who got him into the White House and how?  How many times he was there?  It seems the press was only able to follow the story a few weeks and then got bored or tired or moved on to something really important, most likely Paris Hilton.

This is one of the Class B Bush scandals I want to see exposed in full glory when the next administration takes over.

If Clinton's press room had housed a male escort, the rightwinger would have called down the wrath of Pat Robinson, but when it's the GOP, it's okay.

"In order to maintain an untenable position, you have to be actively ignorant."  The Colbert Report

My Secret Revenge Fantasy
Is 1/21/09, when all the civil servants who had to work for the Bush administration political hacks all pull their damaging files out of their hiding places and turn them over to the Justice Dept/press. Maybe those who worked in the White House press office will finally have to admit how/when they provided over 200 day passes for Mr. Guckert.

[ Parent ]
I'll Lay $50 Bucks...
Bush doesn't even know about Scotty's indiscretion. He doesn't read the papers or watch TV. At this point I am almost positive he spends most of his time in the bunker receiving glowing reports of the Army's complete victories while reviewing the scale model of his plans for "New Baghdad".

But hey, let's face it, this is the closest thing we're gonna get to a "Cancer growing on the Presidency" moment.

As for the press, the speed at which they rolled over without intimidation, public flogging, detention, mass arrest and extermination would've made Goebbels green with envy.

Ah, the hilarity that isthe Free Republic.
They loved him when he was saying things that they wanted to hear, now he's not and they are comically angry.  What a loyal bunch, they have no room to talk, do they?
As for what the squawking heads are doing, it really does look like they are trying to discredit him tacitly, so that they don't lose the next IQ level above the freepers and above.  They don't necessarily have a overwhelming need to believe that Bush is the messiah so the WH has a lot to lose with them, from a how history will remember the Boob in Chief perspective and the GOP wanting to keep a few more seats in Congress than they probably will.
