The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

SC: 'I Believe' license plates get the thumbs up

by: Pam Spaulding

Sorry, SC Blenders, but your state is two for two today on the wingnut scoreboard after the GSA story. How about a state-sanctioned religious license plate -- no worries about church-state conflict in the Palmetto State:
South Carolina's lieutenant governor announced Thursday that he is willing to put up $4,000 of his own money so his state can become the first in the nation to issue "I Believe" license plates with the image of a cross and a stained glass window.

...The bills mean South Carolinians attending local government meetings could soon see the Ten Commandments and the Lord's Prayer posted on walls, pray without fear of being sued and drive home in cars with the "I Believe" plates.

Civil rights groups are considering lawsuits. An attorney for the New York-based American Jewish Congress, Mark Stern, said the bills are an obvious endorsement of religion by legislators in an election year. His group is looking to sue over the plates.

..."This is an example of the government's underhanded attempts to endorse one particular religious viewpoint over all others under the guise of neutral education," said T. Jeremy Gunn, director of the ACLU's Program of Freedom of Religion and Belief. "Religion belongs where it prospers best: with individuals, families and religious communities."

I was really hoping for SC to secede from the U.S. with the launch of the Christian Exodus movement, but that really never got off of the ground. The organizers decided to pack their bags and head out to Idaho, a less populous state to take over, and with perhaps more sympatico Aryan Nation residents.

If memory serves
the First Amendment of the United States Constitution prevents the federal and the state governments from giving precedence to a specific religious viewpoint.

This would appear to be an example of willful and egergious defiance of that prohibition.

The federal district courts would be compelled to stop this, though it makes good political hay for the Republican right, which is probably the intent, to portray liberals attacking religion and family values, while the Godly Republicans are just trying to give people a license plate to go with the Jesus fish on the back of their cars.

Personally, I would not file any protest, but then demand a Pagan Lesbian license plate, using the "We Believe" plate with the crucifix as the basis for making the demand.

the beauty of an atheist plate is that
since there is no atheist dogma and therefore no generally recognizable symbol, everyone gets to design their own individual illustration.  state-sanctioned customized plates for every SC atheist!  i love it!  i'm gonna move there.

Atheist plates
Mine would just have the number and state.  ;^)

My America includes LGBT families.

[ Parent ]
I would like to have custom phrases. Mine would read...
"Freedom of Non-Religion" or maybe "A Right To Disbelieve"

Plus ça change, plus c'est la mĂªme merde.

How about
"In God I Distrust"?

I want
two naked women witches dancing around a fire with pentacle tatoos on them, and a logo reading "All Acts of Love and Pleasure"

If SC does the "I Believe" plate then we will be legally able to force this.

That too.
With a picture of the Constitution?  That seems to be low on the list of things that are important to the people who would get an "I Believe" plate.

My America includes LGBT families.

I will
never set foot in South Carolina. Ever. I'm sure that there are some wonderful people living there. Just not enough of them for me

Warning Sign.
I have no doubt that these plates are state sponcered religion, the same as the Choose Life Plates in Flor-DUH.

But one thing they are is a Warning Sign to other drivers.

KEEP AWAY FROM ME!!!  The same as the Jeebus Fish, avoid those idiot drivers as well.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

I want a PFLAG plate,
Have to come up with a design, but I am sure I will get a lot of grief from the wingers.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

McCain: "America Established as a Christian Nation"
Off-topic?  Perhaps.  But wow, I just came across this.

The GOP candidate is a thoroughly unamerican religious bigot.

You realize, of course, that this
is a not so subtle play to the "Obama is a Muslim educated in a madrassa" crowd?

A few thoughts on this
First, since they've allowed plates with a cross, they certainly must also allow those with a crescent, a star of David, a flaming chalice, yin yan, an image of the virgin Mary, etc.  Otherwise, it raises (federal) constitutional questions.

At a more basic level, it just tells me which drivers I need to treat with courtesy when I'm on the road and those I can feel free to cut off in traffic, tailgate, lay on the horn, and just otherwise be obnoxious toward.  Does SC have a front license plate?  If so, I can drive 10 mph under the speed limit if I see one of these in the rear view mirror.  If on a multi-lane highway, I can prevent them from passing me too.  It tickles me when the sanctimonious can't make a turn where they want to and have to pull a youie, thus endangering themselves.

They're going to need their jeebus.........

i feel a sticker campaigh coming on...
in the spirit of all those "In & Out Burger" stickers being customized into "In & Out urge", what can we do with
I BELIEVE?

These options come to mind:
I BE  EVE
I BELIE
I   LIE

And then the best of all:
I B L E E
It is gibberish of course, but it'll keep people guessing. ;)

Also, I want a sticker depicting a rock shattering glass to paste over a corner of that lovely stained glass window.

Now, who can we place on that cross?  Linda Blair?  Bobby Jindahl?

I hope I can buy Muslum license plate...
in South Carolina. No law against that is there?

I'd rather be a lion for one day, than a sheep for my entire life.

Yep...
I think a pentagram would look absolutely smashing on my license plate, maybe superimposed on a nice lavender triangle....sorry, they will have no choice about...

Hate stops a beating heart.

Not just lavender
You have to include colors for the four elements, too.  :-)

A nice Thor's Hammer for the Asatru would be a plate idea.  And something Celtic for the Reconstructionists.  Oh, and maybe the Kaballic Tree of Life for the Ceremonial Magicians.

This is fun!

One big reason why the SC State Legislators are pushing the proposed law...
allowing prayer before town hall meetings is because of what happened in the town of Great Falls several years ago.

http://www.witchvox.com/va/dt_...

BTW: Lt. Governor André Bauer is a embarrassment to the state of South Carolina already without this steaming pile to add to it. Remember when he was pulled over on several occasions for speeding? LOL :>)

been to SC
to Cayce and Columbia...and downed nearly a half dozen of Hardees cinnamon raisin biscuits in one sitting and that's about all I remember about being in SC.

Guess there's really no reason for me to think much of it, now is there?
The biscuits and all this bad news, pretty much all of it is stomach ache inducing.

Murderer of gay teen gets off easy
South Carolina's problems run even deeper than GSA's and license plates: Their courts want us dead with no repercussions.

I hope everyone saw this post on BTB Wednesday:

This makes me want to riot.

we ought to have been
in the streets protesting. Our accomadationist, collaborationist and elitist leadership has killed off our radicalism in favour of the illusion that they have the power to make change using smoke filled rooms.

When other minority members get killed and someone walks, people rise up and demand change.

We just get a request for more money for the HRC...

And if McCain gets elected and gets 3 SCOTUS nominees
We will be a Christian Theocracy in 20 years...

Among other things which will make your heads explode.

Question:  What does an atheist do when they fall to the floor and start "speaking in tongues"?

Answer: Get a CAT scan.

As James Pettigrew of Charleston said after SC seceeded...
Too large to be a lunatic asylum, too small to be an independent republic.

Before the loonies try to go all Fort Sumter again, please let me go rescue my mom and dad from Columbia before the feds put up a blockade on Interstate 20...

Do you suppose
the the Domionists will ask the Federal Government to surrender Ft Sumter for use as a reparative therapy camp next?

Being Taxed for Religious Beliefs
Most states require extra fees for specialized plates, so what the people who get these plates do not understand is that, if that is the case here, they will be taxed by the state for their religious beliefs.

In the end, if you believe that a license plate is going to get you one step closer to God, then you need some serious help. I have never understood why people of supposed faith must let everyone else know of their faith. Real faith and real beliefs are what you do when no one else is watching.

I think I will ask for a sackcloth and ashes plate
You know, just to remove any lingering doubt over exactly how badly this kind of display runs afoul of Christ's rather strong suggestion that you refrain from big street-corner displays of "piety." Think it'll fly?

depends...
on whether you put it on a new bmw or an old rattletrap.
