Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Arizona: marriage amendment won't be on the ballot

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Jun 25, 2008 at 18:57:38 PM EDT

Great news -- the Arizona Senate, in a 14-11 vote, rejected the ballot initiative to amend the state's constitution to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman. I wonder what McSame will say about his home state turning this away, after all, he backed the bigoted state amendment the first time around -- and it was rejected by voters.

Jim Burroway notes that Equality Arizona says the measure could still come up again in this legislative session (but it is almost over); it's a desperate attempt by the GOP to force a vote.

The AZCentral site has over 100 comments in response to the news. See a few below the fold.

Pam Spaulding :: Arizona: marriage amendment won't be on the ballot
Well I am certainly glad to see that our legislature is busy protecting gays and lesbians from themselves. This is certainly far more important than passing a budget and keeping state government running. And far far more important the (how many now?) billions of dollars shortfall. Go Team!! I am voting against every one of them next election.

someone actually think a ban on gay marraige she be added as an amendment? looks like someone needs to take a 2nd look over that pesky little CONSTITUTION which talks about EQUAL RIGHTS oh ya and don't forget SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND what was that word?? OH YA, STATE! can't have your cake and eat it too bible thumpers! sorry move along!

Bet the AZ Supreme Court overturns the state law within 4 months.

gays, illegals and the fat old sheriff. lets change the channel folks.

Ok, is it just me, or should our state legislature have better things to concern themselves with? Perhaps actually running the state, and doing the jobs they are paid to do? How about focusing on a budget deficit? Enough of this nonsense and back to work, or we are voting out any of you up for re-election in November.

RugbyJoe and dolea559, please don't vote out the ones who were forced into this vote and voted "no". Only vote out the bigots who initiated this stupid amendment in the first place - they are the only ones who are to blame here. I agree with you - the legislature should be focusing on things that really matter, not on trying to ban the legal status of relationships when those relationships WILL EXIST no matter what they do.

Oh, I can hear the knees of all the self avowed Christians hitting the floor for impromptu prayer. And I continue to wonder how a gay couple's marriage affects anyone else's life??? I agree with everyone here who has said that our State government has MUCH more to do!!

Equality for All!! The persuit of Happiness is Universal no matter who you all. Glad some people are now realizing that. Hate will only destroy. Life is too short to judge others.

and I hope the state law gets overturned. I don't see why anyone feels it necessary to concern themselves with who other people fall in love with. If someone doesn't approve of gay marriage, that's their business. Buts its not up to them to decide no one else can have one.

The only reason the need for a constitutional amendment is needed is because some whacked out liberal judge will pass case-law and the next thing you know the voters don't get to decide this issue. The problem is that Case Law is becoming The Law. Judges are getting "God-Complexes" and pontificating new laws that you and I will have to observe. Worse yet... unless you are an active trial attorney you won't even be aware of the next law case law ruling is or how it affects you until it's too late.

I agree there are a lot more crucial issues facing our state and country right now, but if there is no ammendment to the state constitution, activist judges will "go through the back door" (no pun intended) to legalize gay marriage in Arizona within a couple of years. Guaranteed! Personally, I would like the definition of marriage to remain unchanged as it has been since the dawn of modern civilization, and let another term be found for gay unions that would denote the same rights and responsibilities of a "marriage". I think the citizens of Arizona ought to be able to voice their opinion on this unprecedented alteration of our cultural values.

EOFFICER, the whole reason that we have a representative democracy, as opposed to a full-out democracy, is to protect the minorities from majority rule that runs over the minorities like a rabbit getting pummeled by a Mac truck. The initiative/referendum process sidesteps the representative democratic process and should be banned! Giving the vote to a simple "majority" is just plain silly.

Think of it this way: What if the right to slavery were left to a simple majority back in the 1860s? And what if the ban on interracial marriage were left to a simple majority in the 1960s? And what if the woman's right to vote were left to a simple majority back in the early 1900s (the only eligible voters for which were MEN)? Now tell me that the simple majority rule is the "right" way to go....THINK ABOUT IT!

Yeah! Government should stay out of consenting adults bedrooms and lives!

I guess Janet does not want a wife!

Thank God They ( Perverts) can't multiply but then again they can and do recruit ! BARF !

It's Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

You know how they separate the men from the boys in San Francisco? With a crowbar.....

Nice comments
There were a few grumblings about "activist judges" and the like, but overall, that was a really refreshing set of comments from the vox populi!  This fills me with optimism that people may just be coming around on this issue!

woot!
this is fantastic news!  one, it allows arizonans to add their energies to the efforts opposing the hate amendments in CA and FL.  second, it shows that mccain is out of touch with his own state.  but most importantly, arizona lgbt's won't be further persecuted, and the people of arizona won't go down in history as being the worst sort of haters.

It isn't over - don't celebrate yet
Please remember that this isn't the first time that this has been "dead" and has come back.

There just weren't enough Repubs in the house to pass it, but they specifically voted that it could be reconsidered - so if you live in AZ contact your State Senator and tell them NO

McCain and equality
I wonder what McSame will say about his home state turning this away, after all, he backed the bigoted state amendment the first time around -- and it was rejected by voters.
Which is exactly opposite of his position on the MLK Jr. holiday.  At least he's consistent with his bigotry.  We do know where he stands on human rights issues.

My America includes LGBT families.

Update
they have announced that they plan to re-vote on Friday when one of the Repub bigots who was not present returns from her vacation.

It is still too close to call
