The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Vitter and Craig co-sponsor Federal Marriage Amendment

by: Pam Spaulding

Fri Jun 27, 2008 at 14:15:00 PM EDT

The "I'm not sh*tting you" news of the day. Here are two guys who should have hung their hypocritical heads in shame after embarrassing their party, but they just can't help themselves - they hate TEH GAYZ that much. (PageOneQ):
Two United States Senators implicated in extramarital sexual activity have named themselves as co-sponsors of S. J. RES. 43, dubbed the Marriage Protection Amendment. If ratified, the bill would amend the United States Constitution to state that marriage "shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman."  Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID), who was arrested June 11, 2007 on charges of lewd conduct in a Minneapolis airport terminal, is co-sponsoring the amendment along with Sen. David Vitter (R-LA).

In July of 2007, Vitter was identified as a client of a prostitution firm owned by the late Deborah Jeane Palfrey, commonly known as The DC Madam.

Here's the full text of S. J. RES. 43. The critical language:
Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman. Neither this Constitution, nor the constitution of any State, shall be construed to require that marriage or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon any union other than the union of a man and a woman.
As far as I'm concerned, this is a great development for the Democrats, who can hold up Craig and Vitter as the poster children for the kind of pious hypocrisy that cost the GOP the House and Senate in 2006. Thanks, boys for your whoring and cruising around to remind everyone why you and your womb controlling, LGBT-hating party need to be bounced out of power.

Sponsor:
Sen Wicker, Roger F. [MS] (introduced 6/25/2008)

The full list of co-sponsors, no surprises here:
Sen Allard, Wayne [CO]  - 6/25/2008
Sen Brownback, Sam [KS]  - 6/25/2008
Sen Craig, Larry E. [ID]  - 6/25/2008
Sen Enzi, Michael B. [WY]  - 6/26/2008
Sen Inhofe, James M. [OK]  - 6/25/2008
Sen Roberts, Pat [KS]  - 6/25/2008
Sen Shelby, Richard C. [AL]  - 6/25/2008
Sen Thune, John [SD]  - 6/25/2008
Sen Vitter, David [LA]  - 6/25/2008

truth is indeed stranger than fiction.
but what happened to whatsername in CO that Angie Paccione ran against last time?  why isn't she jumping on the hate wagon?

the answer
Musgrave, she's probally sponsoring the house of representatives version of that bill.

[ Parent ]
Last ditch effort by Musgrave and Allard,
Allard is retireing, Mark Udall is the Dem running for that seat.  Musgrave has the reputation now of being a right wing kook and from what I gather she is in danger of losing her seat as well.

The elections here in Colorado are going to be interesting.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

...keep us posted HappyCat.
Wouldn't it be great to take a jillion...well even 10 or 20 repulican seats, both senate and house this November too? Who keeps track of all that best?

and this line at PageOneQ says it all
At the end of the article...
A voice mail left for Craig spokesperson Susan Irby went unreturned. Attempts to contact Vitter's press secretary Joel DiGrado were unsuccessful.
What?! They don't have anything to say about the sponsorship of the bill? Don't they want to hold a joint press conference?

Where would they hold the press conference?
In the men's room? Adjoining stalls?

Okay, who in the WH press corp knows "tippety tappety Morse Code"?

Gannon might...
but he's not part of the press whore corps any longer.

Wow.
We thought that the 108th and 109th Congresses were unbridled orgies of greed, stupidity, and hypocrisy.  These guys didn't get the memo that this was over, did they?  It's still there guys, yes, just not so blatant.

My America includes LGBT families.

Oh the irony
Isn't it great that the Republican Convention is in Minneapolis-St.Paul.  I guess Larry will be returning to his ole cruising grounds.  We should throw him a party.

Prime Example
In case anybody was looking for reasons why Republicans should stay the minority party in the House and Senate, this bull crap is a prime example.

The economy is quickly going to Hell in a hand basket and they're worried about gays getting married?

Nuff said.

Will one Senator please add some sanity to this,
Like a protect Marriage Amendment bbanning Divorce.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

I don't think you understand how this will affect people like Sen. Craig
Same sex marriage will destroy a cherished institution.

If gays get married, there won't be so many guys looking to hook up in bathrooms any more. And old-school closeted homosexuals (Humphries, 1975) will have no sexual outlet.

Calling Senator Obama
Come on, man.

You don't get a better invitation than this.

Are you going to stand on the sidelines and just watch us get smeared by these ridiculous, ridiculous men over and over again?

The ball is in your court.  The microphone is in front of you.  History and logic are on your side.

Good God man...what would it take?

Larry Craig?!?!!  Scary Larry toilet Fairy??
Vitter the shitter??  Diaper Dan??

Indeed - if Craig has his way...
...predatory senators will be able to walk into public bathrooms!

There need to be a dem press conference now!!!
OK, now is the opportunity for the democratic leadership to hold a press conference and blast these hypocrites!  We are waiting!  Come on people, we are waiting!

I have a sick feeling
a sick and familiar feeling...there will be responses...probably.

Here is what they will be:

The economy is in the toilet and this what the Republicans do instead of helping.

Support the troops!  What about ending the war?  This is what the Republicans do to make the world safe?

Stock market is dying!  Oil oil everywhere, but not a drop to drink!  Why don't the republicans want to help soccer mom usa drive her SUV instead of wasting time on this??

Everything - including the kitchen sink - as a rebuttal except for one direct mention of the illegitimacy of the attacks, the contradictions of the participants or the harm that is perpetuated on the subjects of this outrageous bigotry.

And why would there be no direct repsonse??  Because it would be too dicey to support the rights of minorities in the greatest democracy in the world...and we let them get away with it.

Wrap those handcuffs around your fist America and hit us again...you might as well...

[ Parent ]
Yep
The party line is going to be that gay rights (and conversely, "protecting marriage") is a side issue and a distraction.  While I agree that "protecting" marriage from homosexual people is a distraction, the fight for equality isn't.  But, as you said, why risk it, when you can point at $4+ gas?  Everyone hates expensive gasoline, but only some people hate discrimination.  It's just too dicey.

[ Parent ]
Just say "Ho!"
Lobbyists for the self-loathing and for commercial sex workers must be ecstatic...or was it "orgasmic?"... over this proposal.  Imagine all of the cock and tail Craig would not have scored had his suitors had the option of a codified male partnership.  Besides, more money paid for sex and silence is good for the economy, right?

The usual suspects...
No surprise on who made the list. Does anyone else get the gay vibes from John Thune?

I'm glad to see that these losers have America's priorities in order.

They Had No Choice
Reaction Formation occurs when a person feels an urge to do or say something and then actually does or says something that is effectively the opposite of what they really want. It also appears as a defense against a feared social punishment. If I fear that I will be criticized for something, I very visibly act in a way that shows I am personally a long way from the feared position.

"In order to maintain an untenable position, you have to be actively ignorant."  The Colbert Report

Then shouldn't they try to pass an amendment
banning prostitution & same sex public restroom whoring?

[ Parent ]
Theere are already laws against those
They're trying to reign in their own outlaw impulses, so they're glorifying the kind of marriage they can't psychologically commit do/live with.  It's pretty obvious, and pretty common for the GOP which raves about defending marriage as if it's Troy besieged by the Greeks.

"In order to maintain an untenable position, you have to be actively ignorant."  The Colbert Report

[ Parent ]
Perhaps we could get Senator Clinton
to add a line amending the bill to include banning divorce and remarriage. The Dems could vote for inclusion and then the Republicans would have to scuttle their own bill....

For interesting and creative takes on it.

Here's just how it all happened..in the Sacred Senate Halls..and bathrooms.
Thought you'd want the inside story, so here it is from GoodAsYou.

Two nameless men, both of whom have been accused of extramarital activity that goes against their self-professed roles as "family values" guys, walk into a Senate chamber. One man says to the other, "Hey, you know what would be fun? If we team up to co-sponsor a measure that's designed to 'protect the sanctity of marriage.'" The second guy replies, "Cool, I'm in!" So the two start walking (with wide stances) towards the bill's chief sponsor to tell them the good news.

On the way to the sponsor's office (and after stopping at a bathroom stall for...relief), one of the men stops dead in his tracks, and in the most "Eurkea!-like" moments of clarity, yells, "Wait a minute! Won't this look silly at best, hypocritical at worst? I mean the reason why our names are so well known is because of our alleged ::wink, wink:: indiscretions? Couldn't this hurt our side's credibility a little bit? Especially in this rapidly changing political world?"

The second man quickly grabs the first guy by the shoulders, looks him square in the eyes, and sternly says, "Dude. Relax. Just clam down!" At this point the second guy pulls an ID card out of his pocket and asks the first, "Now tell me, what does this say?" The first man looks up and meekly replies, "Right wing of the Republican Party." The second man continues, "Okay, and what do we so expertly and cleverly do with hypocrisy on the far right side of the Republican Party?" To which the first guy, with a relaxed and easy smile now coming over his face, self-assuredly blurts out, "REDEMPTION! We rebrand it as redemption! We just say some stuff about the lord healing our heart and then we never again talk about the bad stuff we did. And then we take a holier-than-thou approach and preach 'pro-family' virtues, regardless of whether or not we've actually followed them ourselves ::sigh:: How could I have forgotten guiding tenet #442?!"

The first guy smiles at the second and in a brotherly fashion says, "It's okay, you knucklehead. We all have our moments of clarity that must be pushed aside in favor of political strategy. Now come on, you -- we've got to go get our name on this gay ban. After all, some of your former lovers might wanna marry their partners, and we CANNOT have that!"

"No we CANNOT," laughs the first guy. "Oh hey, that reminds me -- here's that change for a one hundred dollar bill you needed. What's that for anyway -- did you need to tip the girl who delivers your lunch?"

Second guy: "Huh? What? Uhm...oh yea, lunch. Lunch. Yea, that's what she delivers. Lunch.... .... ... Hey, so, nice weather today, huh?"

Something vaguely familiar about this...
Strom Thurmond was a segregationist who had extramarital sex with a black woman which resulted in a daughter.

What is it with these hypocrites?

Look, if you're going to be a bigot, be a full time bigot. None of this sex with the "enemy" on the downlow stuff.

For shame!
You're all being far too harsh on these poor, victimized men! Of course they're the natural sponsors - because out of the whole Senate, who better knows just how much the institution of marriage needs protecting?  These men know first-hand the filthy temptations (both homo and hetero) that besiege our nation's married men every day, every night, REFUSING TO GO AWAY, LURKING there in their brains like CANCER, filling them unbidden with images of HOT MUSCLEMEN and STRICT DOMINATRIX WOMEN who make them wear diapers and suck on things they shouldn't?!!!

Excuse me, I have to go lie down for a bit.

You crack me the heck up
Happy Pride, sweetie.

This is an attempt at rehabilitating themselves with the GOP...
Nothing more, and nobody need worry about the FMA passing, it won't.

This is just them putting their "pro-family" boots back on in front of the "Christian" folk.  It's nothing more than theater.

IF California can survive...
November's ballot initiative, then even the federal marriage amendment won't be enough to stop marriage equality... It only prevents courts from finding a right in the constitution.  It does not support elected officials in states from allowing marriage equality.  California, New York, Vermont, and New Jersey will have legislative votes for equality within the next couple of years... and it will spread from there.  The cat is out of the proverbial bag, and the FMA is too late.  (Plus, it isn't going to get 2/3.)

yup, if it failed when w was at his peak of power,

You GUARANTEE all coverage of Minnesota RNC Convention will have bathroom and diaper jokes drowning out any other message.

about McGreevy and Spitzer......
of course, Dina McGreevy will have to do one of her "message to the wife" interviews.

About the only thing that I am grateful to my ex for is his refusal, despite being enmired in and serving dutifully the Christian right, to do an interview concerning me...though I came out after we divorced...
