The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Westboro Baptist to picket Tony Snow's funeral

by: Pam Spaulding

Thu Jul 17, 2008 at 07:00:00 AM EDT

The Phelps hate machine continues its tour of shame, bringing misery this time to the family of former White House Press Secretary and Faux News talking head Tony Snow. While I had no patience for his "racism is a distant memory" POV, certainly Snow's family deserves respect in a time of mourning. But Fred and his crew aren't partisan. Everyone is on the hell express for somehow being a part of the Sodomite Agenda. From the Westboro Baptist Church schedule for July 17.
National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception 400 Michigan Ave. NE Tony Snow (Press Secretary for 6 "B" George W. Bush) is dead, YES! He had a platform, he was given some small talent by his creator. He was an unfaithful steward, and is now residing in hell. Each opportunity he had to faithfully Report what the servants at WBC had to tell this country/world, Tony Snow besmerched and vilified the words of God and the people of God. Thereby being a party to the crime of passing laws to make the preaching of the gospel to this adulterous and sinful generation = criminal activity. That is a very bad monkey!

This is what the Lord Jesus Christ said about hypocritical heretical "scribes": Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Matthew 23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows? houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. ...

You see there is nothing worse than a scribe who has gone away from their primary duty to faithfully report the facts as they ARE! And how appropriate that this brute, vain beast of a brat was raised Catholic, but then determined like his forefathers that oops! he'd rather be a filthy Episcopalian, instead. God hates Tony Snow, and that is why he is now burning in hell.

You mean they aren't still in deep mourning for Jesse Helms? I thought they were all still locked away doing the 'sackcloth and ashes' lamentation thing for 30 days... are they allowed to come back out in public yet?

Pay Attention
They did not care for Jesse Helms either.

It seems
they don't care for anyone outside their immediate family.  The rest of the world is all sodomites and sodomy-enablers I gather.

A lovely irony

I like it when the Right Wingnuts start either burning (or being burned by) their own:  it is, indeed, a lovely irony.

I know - don't speak ill of the dead.

Well, he's dead.

Good!

Even the right wingers think Phelps is a screwball
He's been very useful, however, because he makes their extremist blatherings seem reasonable and sane by comparison. I will admit to a generous helping of schadenfreude that Phelps has slipped his leash and is causing the right a tremendous amount of pain and embarassment.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même merde.

[ Parent ]
Not exactly
The right wingers PRETEND that they think Phelps is a screwball.  Their theological view that god used to protect america but does not do so much anymore because america has turned evil, mostly because of homosexuality, is a view held by many, including dead Jerry Falwell and alive (?) Pat Robertson.  The beliefs are the same, the Phelps just aren't  concerned about bad PR so they don't back down when they get hammered publically for saying what they believe.

[ Parent ]
bad monkey?
does this mean they believe in evolution?

Could someone explain to me what spices and herbs have to do with this?
Mint, anise and cumin? It sounds like some recipe for one of Cindy McCain's Trollop-House Cookies.

It means "paying attention to inconsequentials and not to important matters"
Mint, anise and cummin were used in the sacrifice rituals and so were part of what observant Jews could tithe to the Temple as a way of showing their religious devotion. Within the larger context of his tongue-lashing the religious scholars, Jesus here is saying that they were being careful about the herb tithe but ignoring far more important matters.

The irony of Phelps using this passage is priceless, as he (in my opinion) is EXACTLY the kind of person that Jesus was condemning.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même merde.

The person who is most insistent he speaks for Jesus...
...is the person who actually knows the least about Jesus.

At some point
WBC has to reach a critical mass of insanity and collapse into a psychotic black hole. I just keep wondering when it will happen.

I wish I cared about either Tony Snow's funeral or this protest
I don't

I wouldn't actively speak negatively about Tony Snow after his death, or cause his family pain, but I'm simply filled with apathy towards this event, or any related protest.
I don't recall Tony Snow speaking out when PWA's funerals were the only target of Phelp's rabid hate...you get back what you put out there.

Who pays for them?
WBC is supposedly a small church in a small community with a small congregation. So, who pays for these trips to protest funerals that they keep going to? No matter how they get there, it costs lots of money to travel these days either by plane or land-based vehicle. They have to sleep somewhere, and eat, so the cost of each trip must add up to be quite a little bit.

In the next 6 weeks they will be in: Fayetteville, NC; Washington, DC; Bltimore, MD; Nicholasville, KY; Orlando, FL;  Denver, CO; and St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN. Where is the money coming from for all these trips? Obviously Phelps isn't raising money from the pulpit, because he's never there.

Under the section on their web site labeled "Love Crusades" (that sounds like something from the 60's) there's a  picture of a guy holding a sign saying "God Hates the USA". Ah, love is hate, hate is love. If nothing else I love the irony.

They're attornies
and they sue at the drop of a hat, over anything and everything.

Cause any fool knows, a dog needs a home; a shelter from pigs on the wing

They also have a habit...
...of sending out press releases announcing upcoming protests and then not showing up.

UNSUBSCRIBE PHELPS
I honestly wish I could avoid hearing about Phelps altogether.  This group is the Paris(ite) Hilton of the anti-gay world - it really only exists to be photographed and gossiped about.  They thrive on attention, and no one is willing to turn a blind eye.

They're not even significant to conservatives anymore.  They're a weirdo cult.  Why do they still get press?

Tony Snow was in town two months ago
fundraising for our local Focus on the Anus branch to amend the constitution and bar gays from marrying.

He was deeply mourned by our local bigots - I guess they just aren't bigoted enough

Where to send a statement of support?
Those of us who have seen the Westboro folks in action might like to send Tony's family condolence and a statement of love and support.  I want to say to the Snows that we know that, just like Westboro's other picket victims, Tony Snow is holy and deserving and blessed.  Even if he didn't always show us the same loving recognition!  Seriously, tho, anybody have any ideas?

I don't agree that Tony snow is (or was) holy, deserving, or blessed.  All evidence seems to the contrary.  But don't worry too much about his family.  These protests do not interfere with funerals... if they did, then they would be illegal... they happen down the street.  If they don't want to see the protest, they can look the other way.  Which is what everyone should do rather than continue to give attention to these strange calvinist/primative baptist beliefs that should have gone out of style decades ago.
