Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Feeling left out of the game, Dobson finally sucks it up for McCain

by: Pam Spaulding

Mon Jul 21, 2008 at 10:00:00 AM EDT

"Speaking as a private individual, I would not vote for John McCain under any circumstances."
-- James Dobson, founder Focus on the Anus, January 13, 2007
Gee, you mean Bob Barr isn't a candidate Dobson can get behind in a protest vote against McCain? Bring out the tiny violin...

So much for principles and convictions from the moralist of Colorado Springs.  With McCain crossing the finish line, Daddy D's fear of his shrinking political influence in the 2008 election is the magic circumstance that caused this flip-flop.

The spectre of Barack Obama in the White House has caused Dobson to soil his diaper:

"I never thought I would hear myself saying this," Dobson said in a radio broadcast to be broadcast Monday. "... While I am not endorsing Senator John McCain, the possibility is there that I might."

To continue ... "Barack Obama contradicts and threatens everything I believe about the institution of the family and what is best for the nation. His radical positions on life, marriage and national security force me to reevaluate the candidacy of our only other choice, John McCain."

Another reason Dobson is trying to get back in the game is the frightening prospect (from his perspective) that other evangelicals are going to step into the limelight and relegate him to the shadows. In the WaPo, a prime example of the eclipse of Dobson is news that megachurch pastor and author Rick Warren has landed the coup of the political season:
The Rev. Rick Warren has persuaded the candidates to attend a forum at his Saddleback Church, in Lake Forest, Calif., on Aug. 16. In an interview, Mr. Warren said over the weekend that the presidential candidates would appear together for a moment but that he would interview them in succession at his megachurch.

...Mr. Warren, the author of the best-selling book "The Purpose-Driven Life," said he had called each man personally to invite him to his event, which will focus on how they make decisions and on some of Mr. Warren's main areas of focus, like AIDS, poverty and the environment.

...I'm not going to give them any gotcha questions," Mr. Warren said, adding that a typical query would be, "What's the most difficult decision you've had to make, and how did you make it?"

Uh oh. No beating on the gay straw man, no talk about men in women's bathrooms...you mean discussion of actual issues from an evangelical perspective instead of fire and brimstone? No wonder Dobson has his Pampers bunched up. Warren's move is going to shove Dobson off the stage. Watch to see how Daddy D handles Rick Warren.

Dobson should read Jefferson
When he called Obabma unamerican because his view of how religion should operate in the public sphere and denigrated Obama's persona religous beliefs.

"I think he's deliberately distorting the traditional understanding of the Bible to fit his own worldview, his own confused theology," Dobson said.

"... He is dragging biblical understanding through the gutter."

He obviously has either has no idea who some of the founders were and their views and actions.

"Making good on a promise to a friend to summarize his views on Christianity, Thomas Jefferson set to work with scissors, snipping out every miracle and inconsistency he could find in the New Testament Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John."

"In Jefferson's version of the Gospels, for example, Jesus is still wrapped in swaddling clothes after his birth in Bethlehem. But there's no angel telling shepherds watching their flocks by night that a savior has been born. Jefferson retains Jesus' crucifixion but ends the text with his burial, not with the resurrection.

Stripping miracles from the story of Jesus was among the ambitious projects of a man with a famously restless mind. At 71, he read Plato's "Republic" in the original Greek and found it lackluster."

Perhaps we can ask Daddy D to address Jeffersons unfitness to lead the coutry?

Please note..
Democratic Politicians Please Note: Even if you come out against equal marriage rights for political reasons, you are still attacked by the anti-gay hate groups as being "against marriage."

So why not actually do what's right?

A cynical answer...
So why not actually do what's right?

Here's a really cynical answer, that I raise only as a possibility:

Perhaps the Democratic Party leadership realizes that if the party actually delivered on the promise of LGBT equality under the law, they'd lose a voting block.  I think many LGBT folks vote Democratic out of a combination of: 1) the promise that this time around they might actually see some progress; and 2) the fact that the Republicans like to play up homophobia to attract their bigot base.  We're "safe" votes that require no action that might piss off corporate backers.  If we actually had equal rights under the law, the Democratic Party might have to replace those safe votes with ones they would have to earn by enacting populist reform.

I can't see into the minds of leadership, so I won't claim this as true.  It does seem to predict what actually happens when politicians sit down in their various capitols, but then so do a lot of other hypotheses.

Dishonest GOP Demagogue for Jesus
I'm interested in learning what the bible says about "national security" and how Senator Obama's approach is radical.

"Our Liberties We Prize and Our Rights We Will Maintain" -- Iowa state motto

Rick Warren and Homosexuality
While Warren is infinitely better than Dr. Dobson and the FotF crowd, and doesn't actively seek out the destruction of homosexuals, it should be known that he does think of homosexuals as being in need of reparative therapy due to their sin. Warren has stated publicly that homosexuality is sin and that homosexuals need to "recover" from the "hurts, hangups and habits" of homosexuality. He stated on Larry King's show that homos need to convert to heterosexuality, and his church even has their own version of conversion therapy, like what is offered by Exodus International, known as Celebrate Recovery.

Warren plays the game of saying that he's not anti-gay, such as when he states that he's not a homophobe because he and his wife ate dinner at a gay couple's house. He invited one of the founders of Act Up to attend his church's Celebrate Recovery conference, acting like this somehow made him gay friendly, despite the fact that the conference was telling the Act Up member that they had to convert to heterosexuality to be justified in the eyes of God and man.

Warren may be causing a bit of concern among his evangelical brethren, but the LGBT community shouldn't be fooled into thinking that automatically makes him our ally.

no illusions about Warren
We don't have to see Warren as an ally; the fact is he's a rising influence in the MSM as Dobson wanes means FoF will start bleeding support, and gravitas among the "professional Christian" set -- and that benefits all of us. Dobson will not be able to scare pols into kissing his ring, and he knows it.

[ Parent ]
One to keep an eye on though, as he's definitely not an ally.
Talk to Action: Ugandan Media: Rick Warren Denounces Gay Rights:
Dr [Rick] Warren said that homosexuality is not a natural way of life and thus not a human right. "We shall not tolerate this aspect at all," Dr Warren said.
Warren was speaking in support of Ugandan Anglicans who intend to boycott the forthcoming Lambeth Conference, and this harsh rejection of tolerance for gays and lesbians may have serious consequences in a country where homosexuals face harrassment and and the threat of imprisonment.

pucker up Daddy Dobson
Ann Coulter will hold McSame's (lower) cheeks apart, so you can plant a wet sloppy kiss there.
