Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

WA: Obama supporter's car keyed with bigoted statements

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Jul 29, 2008 at 06:00:00 AM EDT

A Vancouver woman had a Barack Obama sign in her yard, and that was all that was needed to set off some sleazebag(s) to key her car in the driveway of her home. (KPTV also has video):
The words "white power" and "I'm gay" were etched into the car of Karen Wastradowski last Saturday. Wastradowski had left her car in the driveway of her home when the vandals struck.

She filed a report with Vancouver police. Wastradowski said a blue "Elect Obama" sign in her yard could have caused the crime.

Jon DeVore of Horse's Ass said this about the climate in that area:
There are a couple of things worth noting here. Yes, Clark County has its share of unrepentant bigots. Earlier this year the son of a Battle Ground city council member was charged with cyberstalking over virulently racist emails sent to a black council member and other community members. So while vandalism is not exactly an unusual thing during the summer months, it's also not acceptable to just shrug off racist defacement of private property as "just kids being kids." They learned it somewhere.

...In a larger sense, if someone can't place a yard sign for a major party candidate in front of their home without this sort of thing happening, we don't really have much of a democracy.

UPDATE: I've got an Obama sticker on my car and it hasn't been defaced. The yard signs are hard to come by around here, but I'd put one out if I had one.

Also, maybe you recall my post from last November, when I put some new badges and stickers on my car.

I asked this question:

Kate and I are thinking of starting a pool to see how long this stays on the car before some wingnut around here removes it. Any guesses?
Guess what? They are all still there, intact.

Fully expect
that when I place large "OBAMA!!" signs on my corner lot property that similar could occur to us (re: "white Power"). Or the signs destroyed, plantings ripped up.

And I will put up more signs... and more signs... and same as this woman, call the police every time.

There's gonna be ALOT of similar incidences this political season...

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

.

Great! Yes, despite what so many Blenders obviously think about the South, and North Carolina, it is NOT a hotbed of "Deliverance" extras and Bible-toting Fundies. And note that the above incident happened in Vancouver, not, say, Alabama.

Every time something happens, I just add another sticker
I have several stickers on my car...  First there was a pink triangle, and after my car got keyed, I added a gay pride variant of the Canadian flag (in Michigan), and suprisingly enough, that's made it just fine.  My "GOD save us from your followers" decal just got removed last week, but oddly enough, the pride decals and the rest of the car were untouched.

So now, I'm replacing it with something more incendiary, and adding something new besides.

I don't have a lawn, or I'd have an Obama sign on it.  This political season's gonna get worse before it gets better.

the good news is
that despite all the race and racist talk in this campaign, this is the first incident of this level i've heard of.  washington state definitely has a problem with bigots.  it is, after all, the home of ken hutcherson.  but i find it encouraging that we've gotten so far with so little racial violence and property damage.  (or should i say so little extra violence?  the racists underpinnings of our society haven't changed, sadly.)

Lurleen on Twitter

And in tulsa the week before a GLBT Home and truck burned and vanalized
A mans Truck was spray painted and burned. His house spray painted with GMG
GAY MUST GO.  and  We will be back and Get OUT. and a Aryan nations Z with the line thru in a circle sprayed on the house.

But only one station covered this gay terrorist act. So here is a Link to the  Only TV  station  to cover the attack.

When one is in a public place one has freedom of speech. However ya can't yell fire in a theater.  I think with the volatile settings now people like  Mike Savage should be held to the grist mill for their call to and egging on these acts of violence and terrorism against  the GLBT and liberal churches.

dumb funny little story
I am a little guilty to admit that I once defaced a sticker on someone's car.

It was 2006 near my apartment building in the District of Columbia, and I was coming back from a bar, a little drunk and with friends I sort of wanted to impress.  An SUV with a "W 04" sticker on the back was parked in front of my building.

Now, the District is 90% Dem, so I felt a little personally affronted by a person with such views coming to my neighborhood.  Of course, they didn't take the Metro, no, they had to drive their SUV up from Prince George county in VA.

So without thinking, in what I now recognize as stereotypical group male behavior, I swiped my key through the sticker.  (Not the paint! I'm not that bad.)  My friends snickered, but ... weren't that impressed.  Good for my friends.  Bad for me.

I still snicker impishly a little, though. >;)

Thought of something
I have seen DAMNED FEW McCain stickers... wonder if they're waiting for after convention? Unusual.

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

Saw this while stuck in I-40 traffic...
On a lady's Jeep Liberty: an Obama 08 sticker with a Confederate Flag/Not Hate sticker on the back.
