Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Get well soon, Morgan Freeman

by: Pam Spaulding

Mon Aug 04, 2008 at 22:00:00 PM EDT

I wish Morgan Freeman a speedy recovery. He's always been a favorite of mine.
Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman was in "good spirits" and confident of making a full recovery after a serious car crash left him with multiple broken bones, his spokeswoman said Monday.

The 71-year-old star, who won an Academy Award for his role in 2004's "Million Dollar Baby," was being treated in hospital in Memphis following the single vehicle accident late Sunday near Ruleville, Mississippi.

Freeman's spokeswoman Donna Lee told AFP in a statement Freeman had suffered a "broken arm, elbow and minor shoulder damage" but was talking and in "good spirits" when she spoke to the actor earlier Monday.

...Freeman, who is currently starring in Batman blockbuster "The Dark Knight" was hospitalized after the car he was driving went off the road and flipped several times reports said, citing the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Hey Barack - he played quite a convincing POTUS in Deep Impact (1997), and I loved him in Glory (1989; I can't watch the last half hour without crying). But little Pam remembers him fondly as Easy Reader on the PBS kids series The Electric Company (1971-1977). He probably doesn't cite that credit much these days. Get well soon.

He's a favorite of mine too!
I didn't actually remember him from Electric Company until a bit later when I was wondering why he always looked a bit familiar.  As soon as I saw that he was on it, remembered him.  He is one of the best actors out there, hopefully he will get well quickly.

My America includes LGBT families.

The most prolific actor of his generation
Morgan Freeman has also secured his place as one of the best and most prolific actors of all time.  He is in a total of 87 films and television shows throughout his illustrious career. The notable films being Glory, Unforgiven, Seven, Million Dollar Baby, just to highlight a few.  He has been in a few exceptionally poor movies, but even in poor movies his performance never is always consistently good.   Very few actors in their life have played the range of characters Morgan Freeman has, from a civil war soldier, to the president and god. No actor portrays maturity, grace, and compassion quite like him. Get well soon Morgan.  He is a shining light on the silver screen. You are one of my favorites.

He's one of my favorites too.
So I was also saddened to hear the news that he'd been hurt.

I agree with tfeminist, who notes above: "No actor portrays maturity, grace, and compassion quite like him."

He always brings such an engaging depth to his roles. And I had just caught "Deep Impact" again a couple weeks ago, and I rarely watch movies more than once, but I was still impressed by his performance, and perked up any time he came on screen.

I also remember him from the Electric Company. When he finally resurfaced YEARS later, every time I saw him in a movie, it reminded me of the EC. Anyway, I did a search on YouTube, and there's a bunch of clips of him from the Electric Company that are available -- for you youngins if interested, and blast from the past for we 'older' folk -- enjoy.

HappyCat's Family wishes him well
He has been one of my favorite actors.  A very kind gentleman he is.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Indeed he is a prolific actor
and a favorite of mine as well. I first actually noticed him as an  actor to watch out for when I saw 'Driving Miss Daisy', and kept my eyes out for him since. I was thinking of that when I read the above, and immediately followed through on of  the imdb links above to follow through on to his biography/filmography. He's listed in TWO movies that are announced/in production. May he get well soon!

It's tradition, that makes it okay. Hip-hip hurray it's weasel stomping day!

Get well soon Easy Reader!

Favorite Actor
He's always been one of my favorite actors too.  I love his voice and to hear him be a narrator.  One of his most memorable performances for me is "Lean On Me".

I looked at his credits at IMDB.COM and I couldn't believe how many accomplishments he has and projects he's currently doing.

Get Well Morgan!

That's one other thing I forgot to mention..
He's the type of person, or at least in the celebrity sense, that just EVERYONE seems to love.

For all I know though, he could be an anti-gay bigot (or even a racist for that matter), but it's almost as though his prolific personal genuineness cuts through even the medium of the screen -- and that that's why everyone feels the same way about him. (I'm generalizing, I know, I apologize.)

Like when Steve Irwin (the crocodile hunter guy) got killed, or the disappointment many of us felt about Brad and Jennifer's break up.

Ok, that last example's not so deep, but my point being, some people just come across as super genuine, and whether that's true or not of Morgan, it's definitely the way I feel about him.

Little Donica remembers "The Electric Company" too
and one of the coolest kids shows casts ever, thanks to Morgan. I was really upset to read about his accident and serious condition. Godspeed, Morgan and get well.

Lil Louise, too...
...back in the days of 4 channels (NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS), no cable/VCR/DVDs and nothing but the "static show" and Indian head from 1 to until 5:30am.

Kids don't believe that is all real, of course...

"It goes on one at a time, it starts when you care to act, it starts when you do it again after they said no, it starts when you say We and know who you mean, and each day you mean one more."

Favorite of mine, too.
I remember him on EC! That was my absolute favorite show when I was a kid. I can honestly say he has never given a performance I didn't like--and that is saying a lot, because I am a really harsh critic.

Get well soon, Mr. Freeman!

Way more complicated.
Reading back on Electric Company (I did not know show..no kids at time and just newly wed.)  I found this report.  Just goes to show how truly complicated our paths through life can be, and how much we can learn along the way.
Morgan Freeman's Battle With Booze

24 April 2001 | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Actor Morgan Freeman's rise to fame in Hollywood was almost thwarted by years of alcoholism. The star of The Shawshank Redemption says he sank into an alcoholic depression in the early 1970s because he felt that his career had stalled, after years playing the father on the children's TV show The Electric Company. Freeman says, "That job literally drove me to drink -- it was so undemanding. I thought this was all I would ever get. I'd been getting drunk every weekend since I was 18." He explains the turning point came when he woke up in a doorway after a drunken binge and thought to himself, "You're lying facedown drunk. This will never do! I had to take control of myself." The actor then stopped drinking, started going on auditions and finally landed the movie roles that raised his Hollywood stature. His 1980 marriage to second wife Myrna Colley-Lee brought new responsibility when his wife suggested they raise one of his granddaughters Kedina Hines as their own. But Freeman says he has no regrets about his wild past. He admits, "I'm just glad to be alive."

And here he is given another chance.

It's the Hammer of JUSTICE,
It's the Bell of FREEDOM,
It's the Song about LOVE between,
my Brothers and my Sisters
...All over this Land.

Yes, Easy Reader....
..was one of my favorite memories from "The Electric Company" as well.

Let us not all forget that, though he plays a great God, and a great narrator, and a great POTUS, and a great friend...he also can be a good villain as well, though not always thoroughly evil.

Cases in point: "Dreamcatcher" and "Hard Rain."  Freeman headed the black ops team that fought aliens in "Dreamcatcher" and had few qualms about offing humans who had been exposed to them.  And in "Hard Rain" he was the mastermind of a heist during a bad storm (eerily similar to the storm we had last night here in Indiana).

My point?  Brotha is versatile.  Our prayers are with him.

Playing the bad guy
I just got around to seeing "Nurse Betty" recently (I'm a bit behind in watching hit movies, the other day was "Braveheart") and he sure was a nasty guy in that one, but with a heart of gold.  I had no idea that Chris Rock could do serious acting, and he really did come across as creepy, without a heart at all, let alone one of gold!
As for the storm, are you in the northern part of IN?  We has a real nasty storm come through last night here in the Chicago suburbs and then the city itself.  People at the Cubs game had to be moved indoors and a window apparently got blown out in the Hancock building.  We didn't get much damage but entire trees are down in my mother's neighborhood and the city was going around collecting and mulching some of the ones that could be easily removed.  A tornado did touch down not far from her but still far enough that it wasn't what caused the damage.  How'd you do in your area?

My America includes LGBT families.
