Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Latest On How The AFA Is Working For "Yes On Prop 8" Campaign

by: Autumn Sandeen

Wed Aug 13, 2008 at 00:00:00 AM EDT

AFA's Yes On Prop8 Pastors Conference CallConservative, political Christianity is working their religious right constituency to repeal marriage equality in California. Today (August 12, 2008), the American Family Association (AFA) has confronted marriage equality on two fronts:

The first is the AFA Action Alert from Jim Garlow (Pastor, Skyline Church, San Diego, CA Pastors
Rapid Response Team). The AFA is organizing a California Statewide Pastors Conference Call on Wednesday, August 27 at 10 AM. Some of what they want to accomplish on the call:

• Voter Identification Phase (August) - to find out who, among the 16 million CA registered voters, are for Proposition 8 and who are undecided. This canvassing will begin on August 16, and will continue on August 23 and September 6. If you have those within your congregation who would like to participate, please ask them to email protectmarriageCA@4sd.net by early next week including all their contact information, including email, phone, address and zip code.

• Advocacy Phase (September) - returning to those who are for Proposition 8 and those who are undecided. INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED IN THE AUGUST 27 CONFERENCE CALL.

• "Get Out the Vote" Phase (October) - returning to those who are for Proposition 8. INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED IN THE AUGUST 27 CONFERENCE CALL.

Some of the ways they're going to identify voters, besides cold calls:

[Below the fold: More on the AFA Action Alert, and the OneNewsNow article entitled 'Deceptive' tactics continue to undermine Prop. 8]

Autumn Sandeen :: Latest On How The AFA Is Working For "Yes On Prop 8" Campaign
• We invite you to join with us in a campaign to call every church attendee in California during the next few weeks, encouraging those not currently a registered voter to become one with vote-by-mail status. To do this, we encourage you to call every family in your own church database - from those who have attended once or twice in the last few years to those who are active members.

• To help you with this volunteer phoning campaign, we have hired an organization with great expertise in church outreach phoning campaigns, and they will be providing a training opportunity for you and your church phoning team. The training will be simple, user friendly, and can be completed online at your convenience. Everything is planned to make this as understandable and doable as possible.

This online training can take place for your church as soon as you, as the pastor, appoint a "Campaign Director" for your congregation - a layperson or member of your staff who will oversee the phoning campaign. We suggest you select a dependable person with good people and leadership skills, and with time to organize and oversee the team of volunteers who will make the phone calls for your church. Remember - every church is important - no matter the size. We could win this campaign by just one vote, so every person in your church counts

In the second way the AFA is working their religious right constituency to repeal marriage equality in California, OneNewsNow posted the article 'Deceptive' tactics continue to undermine Prop. 8. "Christian" commentator and "reporter" Jeff Johnson characterized his, and apparently the AFA's, beliefs about how the supporters of marriage equality are being deceptive:

Protect Marriage No On Prop 8 Bumper Sticker
First it was California Attorney General Jerry Brown changing the ballot title -- from defining marriage as between one man and one woman, to eliminating the right of same-sex couples to marry. Now an unidentified supporter of same-sex marriage has printed bumper stickers that inaccurately encourage people to "Preserve Marriage: Vote NO on Prop. 8."

But a "no" vote on Proposition 8 would not preserve marriage; it would, in fact, allow the redefinition of real marriage to include counterfeit unions between homosexual couples.

... "It's one thing for the opposition to make their case with commercials persuading people to be against it [Prop. 8] because they favor homosexual marriage and those kinds of things," says the attorney. "But it's another thing to be outright deceptive -- and this is the epitome of political deceptive practices that have no business in any campaign."

"Christian" Jeff Johnson believes that protecting marriage is voting to limit marriage between one man and one woman, verses protecting the California current legal status quo of marriage being between a Party A and a Party B -- and therefore it's deceptive to say that voting No on Prop 8 is protecting marriage. Remember, he wrote earlier in his piece that "same sex unions" are "counterfeit unions," so he no doubt believes that one can't really protect a "counterfeit union" in the first place.

I don't think I'm telling anyone anything unexpected. We who support marriage equality should have expected, and actually have expected the "Christian" scouring of church membership roles to find/identify our opposition voters. The AFA has no proplem at all mixing their faith and their conservative "Christian" politics.

Not only put the bumper sticker on the car,
Add a Fish Decal as well.  I know that many would think that adding the Fish might be deceptive, but who says you can't believe and be for protecting all Legal Marriages at the same time.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

You mean the fish
N'Chips one?  :)

I'm fond of the Darwin Fish n/t

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même merde.

Don't like this sticker
The reason I don't like it is that fair-minded people may see this as a sticker put out by the wing-nuts and actually vote YES.

I know it isn't a real product, but if it ever becomes one, it could present a problem.

[ Parent ]
I was just reading about the
bumper sticker on
Good as You

Alright, first off: The bumper sticker that's raising their ire is not an official item. It's not the product of a Prop. 8 group. It is a sticker that a random person has created on Zazzle.com, one of those online retailers where everyday people can create whatever they want (within reason). That is what these folks are now railing against -- an everyday citizen's personal art product!

Keep stirring the pot fundies....your toil is our entertainment.

The one I found...

...was on Cafe Press. Don't know which bumper sticker came first, but obviously it's a popular thought. :P

Oh...very popular
I see a lot of them there.
Hope those stickers sell by the millions and cause more fundie head explosion!

[ Parent ]
This is good

I'm just learning how to insert images....this is great practice

The bumper sticker
..is no less deceptive than the petition for "equality" that the CCL circulated in Maine, which sought to erase us from lawbooks entirely. As always, it's ok for them to deceive even when one of their organizations is doing it openly and officially, but one individual citizen's snarky tit-for-tat is more than they can handle. If their argument is so solid, what is there to worry about?
In addition, I had never even heard of this website they found it on. I'm betting all they have done by pointing it out is to make sure a few thousand more of them will be sold to LGBT's who see the AFA's own press about it. Hilarious.
I think this 'deception', is a great tactic for combating their endless propaganda. Once all the rhetoric and epigrams become meaningless, maybe people will actually be forced to consider what they are doing to gay families with a yes vote.

Fundamentalist Agenda?
The Fundamentalist Christian groups are always quoting "The Homosexual Agenda."  However, I would like to point out that, apparently, they have quite an agenda of their own!

The "Christian" media often put "transgender" between quotation marks...
...so since I personally question how Christ-like most of these conservative "Christian" media types really are, I've decided to follow their unoficial styleguide and put "Christian" between quotation marks when I feel it's appropriate.

[ Parent ]
Great idea
It's actually accurate.  The idea that these people have anything to do with any kind of authentic Christianity is laughable.  So now they are  the "Christians."  I hope the "Christians" don't take offense.

[ Parent ]
Thanks Autumn!
I've often thought about sending the AFA my battered old Strunk and White with the section on use of quotation marks tabbed with post-it notes.

[ Parent ]
"No on 8" really does protect marriage in CA
And I'm not just speaking of same-sex marriages. If prop 8 passes it will be civil unions for all in California.

Ask The Experts
"But it's another thing to be outright deceptive -- and this is the epitome of political deceptive practices that have no business in any campaign."

And they know politcally decpetive, after all they wrote the book on it.
What was that saying? "Whenever you point a finger, remember there are three pointing back at you."
