Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Cindy shops for condos while John tells average joes to stop taking vacations

by: Pam Spaulding

Yeah, baby --  the McCain parade of million dollar homes that he cannot remember anything about continues. TPM found out that Cindy McCain's luxurious ability to drop a couple of mil to purchase a second condo in Coronado, CA (because the other was too crowded), occurred right when her hubby McCain was telling audiences that homeowners struggling to make their mortgage payments, needed to cut that vacation travel budget (that they don't have).
It turns out that a few months ago, a McCain family corporation closed on a second multi-million-dollar beach condo in exclusive Coronado, California, at around the same time that John McCain offered his somewhat tone-deaf observation that struggling homeowners were "working at second jobs" and "skipping a vacation" in order to make mortgage payments on time.

Cindy McCain discussed the timing of the second condo purchase in a June interview with Vogue magazine (not online) that's newly relevant in light of the explosive controversy over John McCain's inability to recall how many homes the McCains own.

And in another fun fact that could pour fuel on this controversy, Cindy told her interviewer that the reason they needed a second beach condo in the Coronado building was that the first was too crowded because her kids were staying there and as a result she "couldn't get in the place."

Cindy continued: "So I bought another one."

"Another one" cost her $2.7 mil of her pocket change. She closed on that condo during the same week McCain was saying this:
And 51 million homeowners are doing what's necessary: working at second jobs, skipping a vacation, and managing their budgets to make their payments on time.
Yes, all you hard working people out there need to tighten those belts for his 100-year war.

To be fair...
...it's a lot easier to remember:

  • The number zero
  • The one I used to own before foreclosure

I know having to go bankrupt when I became disabled was one of the hardest pills to take

I enjoyed the tidbit...
...also at TPM, that McCain spent close to $300k on household servants in 2007.  I guess when you've got so many households, that kind of spending is necessary.

"Our Liberties We Prize and Our Rights We Will Maintain" -- Iowa state motto

Read Richistan by Robert Frank
McCain and his wife are in the middle tier of America's wealthiest citizens (their cohort is about 2 million people). And catering to them is a whole new class of "servants" who style themselves as household managers and take extensive training in catering to the super rich.  $307,000 sounds about right, given the book, which makes fascinating reading.

dont know don't care
McCain doesn't know how many houses he has
and doesn't care how many houses you have

maybe we can parley this to don't ask don't tell, put on your thinking caps.

I'm now fascinated by this bit Digby turned up
When McCain was asked about his "anything under $5 million a year is middle class":

"I define rich in other ways besides income," he said. "Some people are wealthy and rich in their lives and their children and their ability to educate them. Others are poor if they're billionaires."

Wow
With that I can fill enough paper bags to set them on fire on the front porches of homes all across America.

maybe he really doesn't remember - Reagan redux?
Maybe he's getting early signs of dementia, or maybe he's so unconnected with Cindy that he hasn't been to some of them, or maybe he knows but also wants to slide past the interviewer and viewers/readers...

I'm beginning to think the same thing Nancy.
I hope the voters will take stock of these "senior moments" too before casting a vote for him.

I've Been Thinking It
for a while now. He has quite a few of the signs.

Out of touch
TPM (I think) said today (or was it Kos?) That Dems pushing the meme of McCain being out of touch with average citizens who don't have seven homes will also reinforce the belief that he's too old to be Prez.  I welcome his move to announce his VP on his 72nd birthday!  Way to go, alteh cocker.
