The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend: "a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."
He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior."
(CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)
Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).
"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008
Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:
A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist." (Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)
"A nutty lesbian blogger." (MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)
Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

who monitors yours Bevis ?? Just thought I would drop you a line,so the rest of your life is not wasted.
It's pretty significant that a McCain emissary dared to be seen hobnobbing with the Log Cabin Republicans, considering the strong anti-gay public position of the McCain/Palin ticket (and the watchful eye of Daddy D and the professional "Christian" set).
Steve Schmidt, a senior campaign strategist for the McCain campaign, dropped by a LCR luncheon during the convention to share with them that he has a gay sister, and to "pay my respect and the campaign's respect to your organization and to your group."
In his brief remarks, Schmidt weaved in a personal anecdote about his lesbian sister and her relationship to him, his wife, and his children. "On a personal level, my sister and her partner are an important part of my life and our children's life," he said. "I admire your group and your organization and I encourage you to keep fighting for what you believe in because the day is going to come."
This convention marks the first in history that Log Cabin Republicans, an LGBT rights organization, have been fully credentialed official guests of the GOP host committee, and Schmidt is not the only high-profile party figure to address the group. Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, RNC treasurer Tim Morgan, and McCain political director Mike DuHaime - the first hire made by Schmidt after he took the helm in July - have all spoken at Log Cabin events this week.
It's important to note, however, that Schmidt didn't discuss McCain's opposition to any pro-LGBT legislation, and his support for state marriage amendments, and carefully avoided the LCR's mission to advance equality. He indicated only that "over time" more equality for gays "will be reached." Yeah, but it won't be thanks to the GOP as long as the fundies are have them by the short ones. The Republicans have been an obstacle to progress, not a partner.
There's video via Think Progress (w/partial transcript):
On a personal level, my sister and her partner are an important part of my life and our children's life. I admire your group and your organization, and I encourage you to keep fighting for what you believe in because the day is going to come. You are an important part of our party.
We as the Republicans are the party of freedom and as the party we strive to reach that goal and we'll keep fighting as a party to reach it in full. And I think over time it will be reached. And you are an important part of this party.
Man, who wants to be this guy's LGBT brother or sister? It's the classic GOP response - in person, individually, they have no problem with gay folks. They'll work with/for them, treat them on a personal basis as fair as the next person. But they can still sleep like a baby at night as they work during the day to curtail or block civil equality.
Bonus: Check out this article about gay Republicans trawling the clubs and defending McCain/Palin. A snippet is after the jump.
A gay Republican might be an oxymoron to some. Don't tell that to Steve Majors, 28, a California delegate from Los Angeles. Majors and his friends -- all gay and some delegates -- hit the town each night after the convention.
...Majors' GOP comrades, especially Jeff Guillory, a member of the gay Log Cabin Republicans, enjoyed debating the issues, challenging gay liberals with, "What have the Democrats done for you?"
...Majors said Sarah Palin's positions on gay-rights issues -- which have drawn fire from gay groups -- are important, but voting for a candidate who is pro-gay isn't everything to him. "It doesn't define me," he said.
OK. Problem 1: Democrats have been lazy and spineless, but they haven't attempted to legislate what few rights we have away, and, in fact have at the state and local levels led the way in expanding rights. The GOP's record, aside from moderates in states where it's so Blue that being anti-gay is a career killer, is a big goose egg.
Problem 2: The "it doesn't define me" nonsense. I'm not sure WTF this means -- the wallet is more important than civil rights? The right to privacy and illegal search and seizure (oops, the Bush admin's assailed that for you), the War on Terror? For those of us committed to elected people who will advance rights -- and understand the importance of putting someone in the White House who will appoint pro-equality justices to the Supreme Court, it's not being LGBT that defines us, but that many of our civil rights and liberties are under attack as a result of the GOP being in power for so long.
These guys are so short-sighted (or in denial) that it's frightening.
