The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

GOP: Palin's not ready, but will be soon; McCain moves to quash 'Troopergate'

by: Pam Spaulding

Sat Sep 06, 2008 at 12:30:00 PM EDT

Republicans, who insisted that Sarah Palin, with her "executive experience" is ready on day one to step in as POTUS if McCain kicks it, are now actually saying she's not ready and is cramming up in Alaska to be able to answer questions from the press.

I have a hard time with the term "GOP strategist" when advice like this is supposed to represent smart thinking by experts. Todd Harris, GOP strategist:

"If she goes out and makes a mistake, that is something that [voters will] care about, and that's something that will haunt [McCain] for awhile, so I think this is a smart move."

The Jed Report nails it:

This has got to be one of the craziest messaging decisions ever: Harris is conceding that Palin's not even ready to be a vice presidential candidate, let alone be president.
And in a development on the Troopergate scandal, McCain's peeps are now moving in to quash the probe into Palin's role. If you can't vet, the cover it up, right Mr. Straight Talk Express? (Newsweek):
Key Alaska allies of John McCain are trying to derail a politically charged investigation into Gov. Sarah Palin's firing of her public safety commissioner in order to prevent a so-called "October surprise" that would produce embarrassing information about the vice presidential candidate on the eve of the election.

In a move endorsed by the McCain campaign Friday, John Coghill, the GOP chairman of the state House Rules Committee, wrote a letter seeking a meeting of Alaska's bipartisan Legislative Council in order to remove the Democratic state senator in charge of the so-called "troopergate" investigation.

This is a nice reminder of the kind of change McCain wants to bring to Washington. No change.

For your entertainment, Sarah's fans -- McCain/Palin's America, interviewed by Samantha Bee of The Daily Show at the RNC. It's below the fold.

Is Palin a Racist?
This article from the LA Prorgesisve is deeply disturbing, if it's accurate.  Given the coverage of "Macaca," I hope it's explored by other journalists:

"In order to maintain an untenable position, you have to be actively ignorant."  The Colbert Report

Holy Mother of Potatos
Did she actually say that?  If this is real...if they can prove she said that...I need to sit down.

Palin's racism must to be investigated
I sent it to tips here and to Joan Walsh at Salon.com and I think people should send it everywhere they can think of, asking journalists and bloggers to check it out.

It really isn't a surprise
She is Babbitt(Sinclair Lweis' character) with boobs, Warren Harding without experience or Nan Britton, a character from a Dukes of Hazzard episode set in Alaska. I don't want the mother-in-law of a "rednecked f*cker" likely to end up in the White House.

It is one thing for the inhabitant of the Tombstne Arizone of the North to take a collective mental walk off of the pier and make her governor; it is entirely another to leave this tundra trailer trash in charge of fiscal and foreign policy.

Maura, trenchant as always.

Quoting Mencken, Palin certainly is a start of the booboisie.

WOW!
and yet, not at all surprising- either the content or the arrogance of showing such ignorance publically.

Even Daily Kos has taken the story down.
The story's originator didn't check one thing.
Palin's husband is of Eskimo ancestry.

That makes the whole "Arctic Arabs" racism schtick a little dodgy.

Now even Daily Kos doesn't buy it, because it's, you know, stuff that's been made up.

Heck, even I'm starting to think this whole thing is a plan by my Dark Master, Rove, to get the Left to discredit itself. They'll believe anything, as long as it's anti-Palin. Personally, I thought the Incest allegations were the low point, but I may be wrong.

There is no situation so complex it can't get even worse

Not ready for reporters
but surely could step in as commander of the free world!! Maybe we should send the press to Iraq and they can paparazzi the enemy to surrender!

The Alaska Independence Party, you remember that some of those folks want to suceed from the union, well Palin's hubby was a member, not her though.
John Coghill was chairman of the AIP back in 1994.

Coghill resigned the chairmanship after being charged with mismanaging the Party's finances.

Thank you thank you thank you for that Daily Show vid Pam...you just made my day!

What October "Surprise?"
Sorry, there is no surprise here.  She was under investigation before he named her.  He fully vetted her remember.  And now he's moving to quash this politically motivated surprise?

These people's heads are spinning so fast they can't even remember events that happened one week ago.

I think McCain is now claiming
that, as part of the divorce settlement, the ex brother-in-law gave explicit permission for anyone to access all of his personnel records and use them however they wished.

Featuring a comprehensive training program
I love how the Republicans have basically resorted to referring to the job of vice-president as on-the-job training for POTUS.  She's not ready yet, but rest assured, once she's in office and has had time to watch the training videos, she'll be ready to go.

"Why Martha!  Your Sunday chapel dress!"

President? OMIGOSH, you gotta be "ready on Day One!" for terrorists!!
Veep? Eh, don't worry 'bout it... here's a DVD and a handbook to walk ya through the open book test later on. Really read it only if you feel like it, but that's not required at all.

WTF?

Doing what I can
I'm volunteering with the local Democratic party and with the local Obama campaign.  I'm donating what money I can.  I will do what I can to help put a Democratic in the White House.  (Wish I could get a Dem House Rep, but my Rep is Boehner - very little chance there).

But if McCain/Palin win the election in November I think I will hide under a rock and do my best to survive the next four years.

Hmm...Can I be VP?
Let's see:
I've dealt with larger sums of money than the Alaska Budget.

I have had final policy say on security and counter-terrorism forces for the consortium that number more than the Alaska National Guard.

We have branches of the banks that I've worked for larger than the town that Palin was mayor of.

I have experience in negotiations with governments in Europe as well both Americas.

I've invesigated war crimes and crimes against humanity.

I've investigated international financial scandals.

Previous experience working on economic development issues for a government.

My work constantly takes into consideration international tensions, risks, terrorism, alliances, energy issues, etc.

My god! I wouldn't even need a cheney briefing....
I am more qualified than Palin!

McCain/Hennessey 08(with some major platform changes)
"Vote for The Maverick and Maura"

BTW...I wouldn't even consider hiring someone as inexperienced as Sarah Palin....and she would have been in my office the day following her prayers for a god ordained gas pipeline facing a cold stare from my ice blue eyes.

Hennessey on fighting Al-Queda

Palin: It's not her experience, it's her polices.
Nuf said.

She addressed a gathering of treasonous Alaskans
that Independence Party, by video.
I believe that the last time that members of a state government supported sesessionists they were locked up unceremoniously by the then President of the United States Abraham Lincoln, who suspended habeus corpus to do so.

Palin supports treason, in wartime.
I am sorry, but that is how it is.
She is a state governor who supported traitors.
My God, doesn't the Miss Congeniality of Mt McKinley have enough strikes to be out?(if she is what those traitors in Alaska call congeniality, what is rudeness?)

I'm glad to see the repig love affair with Palin
Pin the ENTIRE FUTURE of the GOP on this redneck COMMON vicious HOC-key mom. She is an accident waiting to happen,(not just a fender bender) this will be a freeway 30 vehicle pile up on sleet in rush hour with several vehicles filled with toxins and nuclear waste.
There are REAL intellectuals in the Conservative realm (that I disagree with, but I know they have some mental heft and agility) who have GOT to see this collision about to happen. The minute REAL journalists question Palin the lack of knowledge will be evident to the dumbest remaining 23% Bush backer still in Bum- F*ck, Idaho.

Krauthammer on Palin
The Palin Puzzle
McCain had been steadily gaining on Obama (before the inevitable convention bounce) and had the race in a dead heat in a year in which the generic Democrat is running ten points ahead of the generic Republican. He had succeeded in making this a referendum on Obama. The devastating line of attack was, "Is he ready to lead?"

The Palin selection completely undercuts the argument about Obama's inexperience and readiness to lead -- on the theory that because Palin is a maverick and a corruption fighter, she bolsters McCain's claim to be the reformer in this campaign. In her rollout today, Palin spoke a lot about change. McCain is now trying to steal "change" from Obama, a contest McCain will lose in an overwhelmingly Democratic year with an overwhelmingly unpopular incumbent Republican administration. At the same time, he's weakening his strong suit -- readiness vs. unreadiness.

The McCain campaign is reveling in the fact that Palin is a game changer. But why a game changer when you've been gaining? To gratuitously undercut the remarkably successful "Is he ready to lead" line of attack seems near suicidal.

more Palin commentary
"According to news reports, Palin was diverted away from a fundraiser for a pro-life group headed up by Phyllis Schlafly so she could attend a grilling session conducted jointly by AIPAC and Lieberman, but this hardly seemed necessary. After all, the woman has a little Israeli flag in her office. I'm sure, however, her interrogators gave her a few useful pointers. Maybe they asked her about that pastor who came to her church and delivered a sermon explaining that Jews were doomed to suffer eternally from terrorist attacks in Israel until and unless they accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Yes, the lady has her own Jeremiah Wright. As Rachel Maddow remarked the other day - in between bouts of panicky hysteria over Palin's instant stardom - the parallels between Palin and Obama are pretty striking.

The McCainiacs chose Palin out of jealousy: they wanted an Obama of their own, and since they couldn't have one, they settled on Palin - the Bizarro Obama. Yes, she's fresh, new, a self-anointed outsider in this Year of the Maverick - but she's the complete opposite of Obama in every other imaginable way. She's aggressive, even a bit snarly, while he's soft-spoken and calm, a reversal of gender roles well-suited to Bizarro World - albeit one the writers for Superman Comics in the late-fifties and early sixties never imagined."

Palin as a game changer
The funny thing is, he hates that everyone thinks of him as McSame as Bush but then he selects a running mate that is cut from the same political cloth as W.  The only change to the game is that Palin may be more dedicated to a burgeoning theocracy and seems less open to dissent than King George (think of her as the fundamentalist protestant version of Queen Mary I).

Palin sKoOlEd by Neo-Cons
Two questions for Palin worshippers
Posted by Paul Mulshine September 04, 2008 8:49PM

Sure, she did a good job of reading a speech before an audience of supporters. But I didn't hear a lot in there on some of the key questions of this campaign. So I invite you to weigh in with predictions on how Palin will handle the following questions.

ONE: What are the chance she will oppose the neoconservatives on their immigration amnesty? Both George W. Bush and John McCain are ardent advocates of an amnesty that would permit as many as 12 million illegal immigrants to stay in the country. Here's my prediction of the chance that Palin will come out against the McCain-Kennedy bill between now and Election Day: Zero.

What's your prediction?

TWO: What are the chances she will oppose the neoconservatives on their liberal internationalist foreign policy?

Both the traditional conservatives such as Pat Buchanan and the libertarians who post on the Lew Rockwell blog have expressed worries that Palin will fall into the nutty neocon policies that led George W. Bush into his nation-building exercise in Iraq.

Buchanan recently wrote: "Look for the neocons to move with all deliberate speed to take her into their camp by pressing upon her advisers and staff, and steering her into the AEI-Weekly Standard-War Party orbit."

As for the libertarians, they worry that Palin will endorse the Bush/McCain policy of endless wars fought for the benefit of foreigners rather than Americans.

Again I put the chances Palin will stand up to the neocons in favor of traditional conservative values at zero. But if you've got any evidence she is truly willing to stand up against the open-borders/endless-nation-building crowd, please feel free to post it.

As a Neocon..
I don't know enough to make a guess about the Immigrant situation.

Yes, considering her world travel and having seen some of the area, I fully expect her to be a NeoCon Internationalist, as am I. But maybe that's hope speaking, rather than expectation.

Democratic women against Palin
Politicians such as Kathleen Sebelius, the governor of Kansas, Claire McCaskill, the Missouri senator, and Janet Napolitano, the governor of Arizona, have made the case that women could in good conscience vote for Obama rather than Clinton.

Now they are using the same tactics against Palin. Sebelius regards herself as every bit as authentically all-American as the governor of Alaska.

"I live in the American heartland. I don't know of any mayor in any small town in Kansas who hires a lobbyist and goes after earmarks [congressional funding for projects] the way Sarah Palin did," she said. If Clinton is uncertain about going for Palin's jugular, she may like to recall the words of a woman delegate at the Republican convention who described Palin as "more of a woman than Hillary and more of a man than Hillary".

If Clinton fails to stop her now, she could get trampled.

Sullivan on Palin
President. Sarah. Palin. (Gulp).
06 Sep 2008 11:57 pm

Like a lot of us, Sam Harris is having a hard time going to sleep at night:

As many people have noted, placing Palin on the ticket has made these final months of the already overlong 2008 campaign much more interesting. Is Palin remotely qualified to be president of the United States? No. But that's precisely what is so interesting. McCain not only has thrown all sensible concerns about good governance aside merely to pander to a sliver of female and masses of conservative Christian voters, he has turned this period of American history into an episode of high-stakes reality television: Don't look now, but our cousin Sarah just became leader of the free world! Tune in next week and watch her get sassy with Pakistan!...

McCain has so little respect for the presidency of the United States that he is willing to put the girl next door (soon, too, to be a grandma) into office beside him. He has so little respect for the average American voter that he thinks this reckless and cynical ploy will work.

And it might.
~Andrew Sullivan

Too Late for Pakistan and Sarah
Pakistan reserves right of retaliation against US from crooks and liers,
Following a couple of very high-profile attacks on suspected terrorists into Pakistan in recent days - both of which the Pakistanis say hit civilians instead - the Pakistani military has said it reserves the right to strike back

General Tariq Majid, chairman of Pakistan's Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, said cross-border strikes such as the one on Wednesday would alienate ethnic Pashtuns, who live on both sides of the border, and be counter-productive. "Pakistan reserves the right to appropriately retaliate," he told visiting German Defense Minister Franz Josef Jung.

This middle east situation is getting more FUBAR while we have Bush in charge being the Commander/Decider Guy.  The thought of McCain and over experienced Palin in charge scares the Sh!t out of me.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.
