The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Daddy D lays out his priorities - and shares his glorious view of Palin

by: Pam Spaulding

Mon Oct 06, 2008 at 21:15:00 PM EDT

The press releases haven't exactly been churning out of the Focus on Your Family machine at breakneck speed these days, so it's news when Daddy D features some of his bleatings. In his latest newsletter, he reiterates the importance of the Supreme Court in this election, something we know the right has been focusing on like a laser beam. It's all they have since they are losing the culture wars.
Let's start with the need to elect a pro-family, pro-life President. The importance of this objective cannot be overstated. Between 2009 and 2012, there will likely be two or more opportunities for the President to nominate new justices to the Supreme Court. Some court watchers say there could be as many as four resignations. That alone should give us serious pause as we consider for whom to cast our votes. In the months ahead, the Supreme Court will likely hand down rulings that will impact America for generations to come. We need a President who will nominate conservative, strict-constructionist judges to the Court. If that doesn't happen, the highest court in the land could become stacked-even more than it already is-with justices who will endeavor to legislate from the bench and impose a liberal agenda on the nation. It will likely affect the definition of marriage, religious freedom, and the protection (or lack thereof) of life in the womb.

...I am now supportive of Senator John McCain and his bid for the presidency. This is not because I am beholden to the Senator from Arizona or to the Republican Party. Anyone who has even a passing familiarity with my views knows that I have agonized at times during this election process, and have been strongly critical of Senator McCain and the Republican Party on numerous occasions.

And then he shares his terror about an Obama presidency:
The longer the campaign continues, the more concerned I have become with Barack Obama's liberal views. Certainly, he is an attractive and very charismatic candidate who has embarked on a campaign of historical proportions. However, the majority of his policies represent the antithesis of principles I hold dear. Senator Obama's record is more  liberal than that of any other Democrat in the Senate-and that's saying something!

...It is a matter of historic significance that Barack Obama has become the first African-American to capture the nomination of a major political party for the office of President of the United States. I applaud that remarkable accomplishment. Nevertheless, I cannot support his candidacy because the positions he holds on moral, social and family issues place him at the extreme left of the political spectrum. What the Senator believes and the policies he would seek to implement are on a collision course with the biblical principles and beliefs I have fought to defend for more than 35 years.

I can't wait for you to read Daddy D's defense of Sarah Palin. It's below the fold.

Turning the corner, the significance of Governor Palin to the 2008 presidential race is also worthy of further consideration. Here is a woman who is a deeply committed Christian, and who is pro-life not only with regard to her policies, but in her personal life. She and her husband welcomed their latest child, Trig, into the world even though he was diagnosed with Down syndrome while still in the womb. Approximately 90 percent of babies with Down syndrome are aborted, but Governor Palin carried her precious child to term and now loves and cares for him despite the challenges associated with a special needs child.

Similarly, her teenage daughter, Bristol, who became pregnant out of wedlock, could have bowed to cultural pressure to seek an abortion. Instead, she and the father plan to get married and raise their child together. Governor Palin has been married for 20 years, and by all accounts, she is a portrait of Christian motherhood and womanhood.

As for Governor Palin's qualifications to be Vice President of the United States and to assume the mantle of President, should that ever become necessary, she is much better suited for the job than the talking heads on the liberal Left would have you believe. She came out of nowhere to win the Alaskan gubernatorial race against a powerful incumbent. While in office, she bravely fought widespread corruption-including that within her own party-in the face of great opposition. Govenor Palin's critics suggest that her experience as mayor of a "small town" is somehow a liability, but it is an asset. In fact, her time as Mayor of Wasilla and then as Governor of Alaska gives her a greater degree of executive experience than Senator Barack Obama can claim. Her qualifications to be Vice President, I would submit, exceed those of Senator Barack Obama, who spent only 143 working days in the U.S. Senate prior to announcing his run for President. He authored no significant legislation during that time.

I'm sure you have heard the shrill voices from the political Left decrying Mrs. Palin for any and every reason under the sun. They gloat over the pregnancy of her daughter Bristol and claim it as "evidence" that abstinence education, which Sarah Palin strongly supports, is somehow a sham.

Ummmm...yes, it is. Boy, was that a flaming pile of crap. I need an air freshener behind that load he dropped.

Just wondering how often Palin sees this "precious child" and how hands-on she is in caring for him.  After all, she has "special needs" too - she needs to keep up the daily lies for McCrackity on the stump.  How does "her precious child" fit into the picture, I wonder.  Picture of motherhood?  Not by my reckoning.

Hail Palin, full of grace...
As much infamous antipathy the fundies like Dr Dobson posses towards women in general and the Catholic  Marianist adoration of the Virgin, Sweet Baby James Dobson seems to ahve enthroned a new Madonna.....

What Will Daddy D Tell His Flock
When they start having trouble feeding their children?

Seriously, we're on the precipice of a new Great Depression and they just can't help being worried about issues that have never mattered to the elite.

I caught Kenneth Copeland by accident the other morning while channel surfing. He was urging his flock NOT to pay any attention to economic issues as they were to be 'given up to God.' The far more important issue was electing a "Godly" President and I bet you can guess who he meant.

Someday the hungry may descend on Rev. Copeland's church and I wonder what he'll tell them then?

Hopefully, when (and if) the time comes...
...they'll tell him exactly where to stick his so-called ministry.

they'll blame it on the Jews
and then try to bring back slavery

I am more afraid
of their giving a Christofascist, say, a President Palin, absolute power out of sheer panic generated by the economic emergency. Then, the leadership will have to find an internal enemy to scapegoat. Want to bet who they choose? It won't be the Jews, either...

Well, this is Great News
If, in fact, there is a possibility of nominating up to four Supreme Court nominees and if Democrats win the White House and both houses of Congress, does any one else smell a SCOTUS ruling on our civil rights?

I have been hammering on the importance of SCOTUS appointments for >8 years
 - and a lot of people said that I was over-concerned. They didn't really pay attention to my statement that dominance of the appellate courts and SCOTUS was the MAIN long term goal of the religious conservatives who want their wimmin in the kitchen and gays in prison or dead.

Dobson is innumerate
Dobson claims 90% of all Down's Syndrome fetuses are aborted. Wrong - women are offered a blood test (soon to be replaced by a blood test plus ultrasound) as part of the standard prenatal care regimen, to screen for DS. All methods of screening have false positives, so the required second step is an invasive test such as chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis. Then, if the DS is confirmed, the woman makes a choice about abortion. Women refuse the first blood test, may take the first test and then decide that they will use the information to prepare for the medical care of the newborn, or may take the first and second tests. Dobson is talking about the group that takes both the first and second test. When the woman is offered the second test, which in a small percentage of cases can cause miscarriage, the woman is only allowed to proceed with the test if she is seriously considering abortion based on the results of the second test. In other words, the group Dobson is talking about is a SELF-SELECTED SUBSET of women planning abortion - and even they change their minds.

My guess is that the pregnant daughter is the designated caregiver for Trig.

Thanks for spelling this out
I recall my wife had the amniocentesis test due to her age. I don't recall the other tests, perhaps that long ago they weren't available yet.

I do recall that the risk involved meant that an abortion was all but certain if the test produced a positive result. Why have the test otherwise?

So you are correct. Thanks for supplying these details.

[ Parent ]
Bill...not 'all but certain.'

It is true only women who might elect abortion, in a sense, are offered amniocentisis or CVS, but that is because the procedure itself can cause an abortion, and couples need to be very aware of that. Even after the test is safely done, and many things other than DS are looked for, especially in women with multiple misacarriages etc. it is another whole discussion and decision and procedure to proceed to abortion.

termination isn't the certain outcome of positive results for significant abnormalities
Some people who wouldn't consider abortion do have the tests to be better prepared for their special needs child; some docs recommend the tests for older mothers who wouldn't terminate to be better prepared to deal with issues/complications that can arise in late term pregnancy and delivery.

Dobson's Propaganda of Fear, Fear and Fear!
I hope that most Americans are smart enough to realize that McCain / Pailin represents a failure on many fronts and votes Obama into office. Should Obama win, where will these wingnuts go? They'll stay in the good ole USA, bitch'n, moaning & complaining because no other country on the planet would allow them to relocate there from the US. The Supreme Court "replacements" should be there to represent the little people and not the desires of a Theocracy movement.

Sarah Palin is indeed a "a portrait of Christian motherhood and womanhood."
If you dumb down the entire theology of Christianity to be anti-gay and anti-abortion, ignoring the rest. That certainly seems to be Palin's schtick - has she ever, ever, discussed her faith in any terms other than the "social conservative" agenda? Say what you will about Obama's faith, he has made it clear how he believes his faith has made him a better, more inclusive leader and therefore more qualified to be President. Palin's seems to have only narrowed her focus.

I'm really bad...
When I read what Dobson wrote about Palin, I didn't smash my keyboard.  But I visualized him as the Marcellus Williams character in Pulp Fiction, in the back room of the pawn shop before Bruce Willis came back to rescue him...

Shot Gun Wedding
Similarly, her teenage daughter, Bristol, who became pregnant out of wedlock, could have bowed to cultural pressure to seek an abortion. Instead, she and the father plan to get married and raise their child together.

I guess Grand Ayatollah Dobson didn't get a chance to see Levi's MySpace page before the McPalin camp forced him to take it down.

What about
Bowing to cultural pressure to marry and raise the child together?

Stay home on November 4th,,
I wish all his followers would stay home and pray that McSame/Bible Spice get elected.  See if god answers their prayers.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Actually, we have a plan
My spouse and I decided that if Obama wins, we are taking off on the 5th to celebrate.  If Amendment 8 passes, we are taking off on the 5th to mourn.  I have never taken a day off work, but Nov. 5th will be a day to take off.

I used the SCOTUS argument
to get my mother to change her vote to Obama. While she tries to be supportive of me personally, my mother doesn't really understand the civil rights issues the LGBT community faces. She does understand the importance of a balanced supreme court, though; she just hadn't thought of it in terms of this election. When I explained things to her, she said, "We can survive 4 years with a bad president. We can't survive 50 years with an ultra-conservative Supreme Court." Go, Mom!
