My psychologist spouse has been saying he thinks McCain's fatigue, confusion, emotional pain and all the rest of it may be part of his re-experiencing his POW captivity.

When you watch tape of McCain in Vietnam, he looks and sounds eerily like he does now: a broken man.  The trap he has found himself (the press turning, the polls sinking) in might quite readily be working as a sort of worm hole to send him back to those years when he was cornered, desperate, and humiliated.

Going out on a limb here, Maybe,,,,

  I believe McCain has vengence on the brain from after being a POW for 5 1/2 years.  His Bomb Iran song, how he always talks pro-war his non thought through answer is always yes.  His wanting to continue the Iraq war.  The willingness to send the military any place for war.  He views the Presidency as his final step to get even.  He gets angry at anyone who gets in his way.  That cruel look he has, the wicked laugh he has.   Remember after the VP debate how he was out on the trail, 'How about Sarah Palin, than that laugh, he he he he he.'

 His attacks on Obama have no direction.  The Bill Ayers attack is a perfect example.  It is like someone in the room said, 'John we have this we'  And John 'screams use it!' before he even knows what it is.  Now today the Aters attacks were not even used by Bible Spice.

 Look at his all of a sudden mortgage bail out plan he let loose last night.  No one knew the plan much less about the how it would be implemented. He didn't even consider what reaction the conservative base would have.  He said it because he thought it would help get him elected.  

 Bible Spice got the republican base energized, McCain was in the lead and attacks where over lipstick and other non issues.  McCain thought he would sail into the White House.  His dream was going to come true, he would be in command of launching bombs.  All that came to a screeching halt when the economy tanked.

 McCain was in denial as he was planning on who and where he would bomb first.  This is the only way to explain that many who have known McCain for so long say this is not the McCain they once knew.  This would explain his campaign changing direction every other day.  Flailing around like a child throwing a temper tantrum until the child gets what the child wants.

 This 'Prisoners' remark pushes me closer to believing I am right.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Obama challenges McCain...say it to my face

in a Charlie Gibson interview

"Obama also said he was surprised some of those attacks weren't brought up by his opponent at the debate Tuesday night at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.

"I am surprised that, you know, we've been seeing some pretty over-the-top attacks coming out of the McCain campaign over the last several days, that he wasn't willing to say it to my face. But I guess we've got one last debate. So presumably, if he ends up feeling that he needs to, he will raise it during the debate."

VERY cagey Barack challenge McCain to show he has "a pair", in the FINAL DEBATE which would be politically suicidal for McGrampy to go blatantly NASTY just before the election.
So McNasty either looks castrated, or a grumpy curmugeon

or maybe option three, is McNasty loses his temper, we call this the NUCLEAR OPTION.
Remind me never to play chess with Barack, he has killer instincts in strategy.

Technically, he's correct.

We have been prisoners for the last seven and a half years.

Depending on who wins, we will be be released on Jan 21, 2009. Otherwise, our sentence be extended for four more years.
