The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

NC parking lot owner - no spaces for Obama supporters

by: Pam Spaulding

Fri Oct 10, 2008 at 16:30:00 PM EDT

What kind of bigot crackpot businessman is this? In Gibsonville, NC, Tim Henderson has decided his distaste for Barack Obama should be channeled into bias against his supporters who wish to use his parking lot. Yes, McCain/Palin, this is your Base.
"I don't know how many ways you can interpret it. If you're an Obama supporter, you've got an Obama sticker on your car, you're not welcome to park here," says Henderson.

Henderson's a McCain supporter who insists he won't tow anyone off his lot for political reasons; he's just throwing a little humor into the presidential race.

"I don't expect to go after anyone with a baseball bat. I would grin at 'em and laugh and ask 'em if they could read English," says Henderson.

But some people who park on his lot don't find it so funny.

"This is ridiculous," says Dave Dicke. Dicke works at a state agency across the street. The agency's employees have had an agreement to park on Henderson's lot for years. Some of them have Obama stickers on their private vehicles.

Henderson had planned to leave the signs up through election day, but yesterday afternoon, the mayor of the city, Lenny Williams, said that the signs will be removed as a result of an agreement with the lot owner. I wonder how that conversation went.

As usual, the comments on the story yielded some choice opinions. See those after the jump.

He has as much right to have that sign on his lot if he owns it as the people who have those stickers have the right to display the stickers on their cars! You go old man! McCain rocks!

I think someone who post a sign like that is just trying to get attenion and try to make people mad. If you act like it doesn't bother you, then he would be wasting his time wouldn't he. Get a life.

Ignorant. This is the kind of act that reminds us that we are in the South. What is the lot owners plan when Obama wins the election?

cwwillia wrote:
I live in Gibsonville and know the owner of this lot. This is his private property, yet he allows these government workers and local restaurant patrons to park here free of charge. He is PERFECTLY within his right to express his political opinions on his own property. This is no different than posting a political sign in your own front yard.

scottyvnc wrote:
It is his right to display the signs on his property. It is not against the law for this man to display his ignorance. Why doesn't he simply put some McCain signs in his lot??

christina0929 wrote:
I think he is entitled to post a sign due to freedom of speech. Afterall, it is a private parking lot therefore, he can do with it whatever he chooses. I am just glad to see someone standup for what they believe in.

HE IS STUPID! SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! WHAT CAN BE DONE? maybe he just wants some publicity and he got his 45 min of fame. now can people find somewhere else to vote where they are wanted. i knew that they were going to throw some s#$% in the gamee. you dont have to like obama but what he is saying is real and for the middle class people. mccain/palin is not for middle class, they are for the rich. just like bush, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer (poorer is not a word) but that is the best way that i can describe what is going on in the world. someone needs to close his building down. please feel free to contact me anytime.

I think this is WRONG anyway you look at this. I could understand it if the Obama voters were trying to persuade him or anyone else to support Obama. Their pretty much show who they support. Now if he put support or vote for McCain signs up that would be totally different. Some government and city employees have depended on this locate for years. That's ridiculous. So what's gonna happen if Obama wins this election? And according to the views of people during the debates and general surveys he has a good chance. I feel like a lot of this negative comments and gestures has nothing to do with what kind of changes and good this man may can bring to the United States but the mere fact that he's African American and if he wins he won't only run the country, but regardless to how long he runs office a BLACK man ran our coutry. Look at the bigger picture listen to what plans each one of these men have.

He said it was to put humor into the political scene, well its not funny. It may be his right to display his sign but If you own your car you have the same right to sticker it up with what ever or whom ever you support. What a pinhead to quote Bill O'Riley

These radical far right hippies just can't control themselves.

UT's policy was evenhandedly wrong.
It applied not just to Obama signs and McCain signs but any sign. The University Democrats and the College Republicans even joined forces in opposing the policy. The VP for Legal Affairs claims the University could do it for aesthetic reasons and that because it applies to all signage that it is valid; however, the President of the University is the former Dean of the University of Texas School of Law (one of the top law schools in the country for constitutional law) and he suspended the rule for it to be re-evaluated because he knows it wouldn't ever hold up in court. "Aesthetic codes" do not negate the First Amendment and the University, as a state institution, is bound by the First Amendment. Bill Powers ain't dumb. He may cover for his VP of Legal Affairs in claiming they would win, but he has to know they wouldn't, especially since the father of one of the students is a lawyer. The protections of the First Amendment are at their zenith when it comes to protection of political speech. Hell, under Texas law, even HOA's can't ban political signs. All DHFS and the university did was embarrass themselves.

That said, having been a resident in the University of Texas a little more than a decade ago, let me say that the bigwigs in the Division of Housing and Food Services are probably the most bureaucratic, anal-retentive assholes on campus. I had several run ins with them (as did several friends) and eventually moved out of University housing being fed up with them. In the most egregious of my encounters with them, they refused three times to replace the lock on my room door after it failed three times and prevented me from getting into my room...even after I pointed out that if it instead locked me in (which it could) and there were a fire, their asses would end up in jail. The repairman told me on two of his repair visits that the issue was a recurring one with the lock mechanisms and was not very uncommon and becoming more frequent in the dorms that had those locks seeing how the locks were way past the point of when they should be replaced. DHFS even had the head resident try to convince me "there are procedures we must follow before we can authorize the replacement of the lock"  even though the lock was definitely the problem. That was after my roommate and I had swapped out our keeys with the office for the second time. He kinda changed his tune when I pointed out the fire possibility and it wasn't until he and the repairman complained about the danger of the situation on the fourth incident that it was replaced.  The University did end up replacing all the locks on the room doors in my dorm the following semester. I believe my experience probably expedited the replacements, which would normally be done in the summer.

Yeah, he doesn't have the right to suppress others
This business owner was infringing on the rights of his customers to express their political opinions -- not just expresssing his own.

The mayor probably has the ability to revoke his business permit in this case.

he does have the right to post the signs and refuse service
but I bet you 10 to 1 that if people boycotted his lot for this, the wing-nuts would be all over it complaining that the liberals were unfairly trying to put him out of business.

[ Parent ]
No. It isn't about posting the signs
He is discriminating against people who have Obama bumper stickers.

He can't do that.

That is the same as posting a sign that reads, "No Blacks"!

He can post a sign that reads, "Vote for McCain."

But, he can't refuse service to people because of their political views, their race, religion, or anything else that is protected under state and federal laws.

This country has reverted to 1964
The depth of the racial divide in this country is beginning to mirror the Grand Canyon...

I feel like I'm watching a George Wallace campaign, not a 21st century political discourse.

My God but I fear for Obama and his family.

Question:  What does an atheist do when they fall to the floor and start "speaking in tongues"?

Answer: Get a CAT scan.

injecting humor?
"you're not welcome to park here"

HA HA HA HA ha, what a funny joke!  HA HA HA HA!

He should write for saturday night live!

I got some other funny phrases!

"No coloreds allowed!"

Oh ha ha ha ha ha!

< / sarcasm >

My entirely speculative reconstruction of the conversation between the mayor and this guy
"Hey, assclown! Take the freakin' sign down or you will be in a world of hurt come business license renewal time."

What a wonderful example of an American to the world.
To quote the great Bugs Bunny, "What a maroon!"

If I lived there I would find somewhere else to park - permanently.  He doesn't like my political views, obviously he doesn't like my money, either.

For you
or more aptly, for ALL of us who are so sick of the ugliness- my very favorite Bugs Bunny cartoon:

We all need a break from the stress of this election cycle and the economic news. The ugliness being exposed and the fears created are enough to debilitate the strongest person among us... I DO take this sort of open racism extremely seriously.

But I gotta find the laughs in life, too.

Quiz: Who said this
I am a conservative.

I intend to give the American people a clear choice. I welcome a fight between our philosophy and the liberal left-wing dogma which now threatens to engulf every man, woman, and child in the United States.

I am in this race because I believe the American people have been pushed around long enough and that they, like you and I, are fed up with the continuing trend toward a socialist state which now subjects the individual to the dictates of an all-powerful central government.

I am running for President because I was born free. I want to remain free. I want your children and mine and our prosperity to be unencumbered by the manipulations of a soulless state.

I intend to fight for a positive, affirmative program to restore constitutional government and to stop the senseless bloodletting now being performed on the body of liberty by those who lead us willingly and dangerously close to a totalitarian central government.

In our nation, man has always been sovereign and the state has been his servant. This philosophy has made the United States the greatest free nation in history.

This freedom was not a gift. It was won by work, by sweat, by tears, by war, by whatever it took to be--and to remain free.

Are we today less resolute, less determined and courageous than our fathers and our grandfathers?

Are we to abandon this priceless heritage that has carried us to our present position of achievement and leadership?

I say if we are to abandon our heritage, let it be done in the open and full knowledge of what we do.

Answer: George Wallace.

This is illegal.
It is a civil-rights violation of the highest order to discriminate in public accommodation on the basis of political party.  Any one of those people who park in his lot can now bring a civil-suit against this moron, a million dollars or more, and they will win.  A person can suffer real psychological harm when their civil rights are violated.

Doesn't matter that he eventually took down the signs.

I'd like to file a prediction here and now...
Nothing to do with this post, but I want this on the record.

I predict John McCain will pull-out of the Presidential race within 3 weeks of today, by the 31st of October.  He will concede the general election to Barak Obama using wording that in essence will say that there is no way he can win and it is for the good of the country.

As it stands now, every day this campaign goes on, it is only dragging McCain lower and lower in popularity.  This campaign is both literally and figuratively a no-win situation for John McCain.  Rather than stay and fight for his side, he will do the personally expedient thing -- quit.

How's that for a specific prediction?

I think...
...that you are seriously underestimating the old bat fart's ego.

I predict that when he loses on election night, they'll have to take him away in a straight jacket.

His last word as they drag him from the conference room...

"Rosebud."

When you look for the bad in mankind, expecting to find it, you surely will.

Sorry Fritz.....
My reply was meant for Storm

[ Parent ]
What do you base your prediction on?
Has that ever happened in the history of presidential elections?

[ Parent ]
Storm, do you think he is a maverick?
Joking aside, conceding before the election in my opinion, would undermine the voting process and the will of the people.

Improve your karma, vote for Obama.

Cheers.

You seem to be assuming that McCain
is in possession of his wits and is capable of making a sound, rational decision.  Dream on.  Rove, Davis and the rest of the puppet masters pulling his strings would never permit this.

Turnabout is fair play
The majority of houses in our neighborhood have Obama yard signs.  But recently a couple of McCain signs have popped up.  When my son noticed them, he defiantly declared "We're not trick-or-treating at THOSE houses"!

It is the right that is trying to divide this country,
They are a true hateful bunch,

One has to wonder how in the hell these people got so angry? They have had 8 years of George Bush, 6 with a majority in the House of Representatives and the Senate.  Get a Job they are yelling, what are they doing being there instead of working themselves?

What a complete Hateful bunch.  In this video McCain/Palin supporter believes Barack Obama is an Arab, Jump over to C & L  This has been all pumped up by the right with the likes of Hannity, Limbaugh and the rest of the rightwing talk radio, aided by Fox News.

And one thing I have noticed is most of these angry people are over the age of 50.  But they have their share of young supporters as well.

The reason why McCain is tanking is three fold IMHO,

#1 it is the economy.

#2 the attack ads are not sitting well in most peoples stomaches.

#3 the more these angry right wingers are shown supporting McCain/Palin, the more people do not even want to be associated with them (the supporters)

The fringe right is gone overboard, they have been brainwashed by the right wing media.  They have now gone to the you are with me or against me attitude. Your not my fellow American if you vote for Obama/Biden mentality.

Yeah, this election will make history, especially if Barack Obama wins, the looney toon right will go completely nuts.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Well, this sure has changed MY mind.
Yessiree, it has.  If I can't park in this dimwit's lot, I will simply have to vote for McCain.

How stupid are these people?

This might work as a question of the day
This parking lot idiot reminded me of companies who have acted hateful towards us, and those companies who have led the way for our equality.
The experts predict with the financial crisis, this might be one of the WORST shopping season for the Holidays.
Maybe it would be fitting for us to make a Naughty and Nice list of companies, and encourage shopping at those friendly companies through this troubled time, and PENALIZE those who have actively made our lives harder.

I read McDonalds has chickened out as AFA eneded their boycott
McDonalds stated they will remain nuetral on the marriage issue, ya know when I was encouraging others and going to McDonalds through the AFA boycott, it would have been nice for McDonalds to acknowledge we gave them their best third quarter figures. McDonalds your gratitude was UNDERWHELMING, and I like MILLIONS of LGBT people, and our families, and friends can grab a burger ELSEWHERE, like maybe at your two top competitors.

also the KY McDonalds will have a protest over gay patrons being called faggots

A Kentucky McDonald's will be getting some very special - and angry - guests today.

Activists down in Louisville announced today that they plan on protesting two employees' anti-gay actions this summer.

From the press release:

In July, five visitors were waiting for their food to be prepared at McDonald's when an employee behind the counter referred to them as "faggots" to another employee. The visitors asked to speak with a manager. As they waited for the supervisor on duty, the employee who had called them "faggots" started arguing with them, repeatedly calling them "faggots" in front of other customers and calling one of them a "cocksucker" and "bitch."

The supervisor on duty refused to refund the group's purchase, and all attempts to solve the issue with McDonald's managers and corporate offices have been ignored.
That incident no doubt pleases the American Family Association, which yesterday claimed victory in their own protest against McDonald's, whom they accused of being in cahoots with the queers
