I am fairly certain the owners of KFC and Kool Aid would take a very dim view of their name and image being used in this manner, and I'm sure without their permission.  If I were them, I would not hesitate to take legal action against this organization and it's principals.

If the national party does not want to be implicated as a haven for bigots, they need to come out forcefully against this tripe;  and every Republican member of Congress must be put on the spot to repudiate it.

Teaching moment

I saw this earlier on another blog and used it as a teaching moment for my 13 yr old son.  I want to make sure he recognizes racism when he sees it.

Other than that, it's offensive garbage.  No wonder the Republican party doesn't attract minorities.

It's not just about people of color taking offense at insults.  It's about all of us seeing exactly what kind of people Republican activists are--how they think, and how they treat others.

More Republican african americans are going to vote for Obama this year. One lady said to me in the region this newsletter covers, I am voting Obama, and then voting Republican for all the other candidates.

And also, the Republicans dont hire many minorities in their staffs in San Bernardino County, its basically lilly white.

Im from this region this story is about, and its amazing how this story traveled from Riverside to nationwide.

I was raised in So. California and I thought I'd seen racism until I moved north to Central California. The racism is much worse here in Monterey/Salinas. I felt as if I'd gone through a timewarp back to the 1960s. Many people here voice their racist views publicly.

People in other states have a false impression about California. They think it is a liberal state without much racism. In reality, there are more racist hate groups in California than any other state.

Well I think

Ms.Fedele is probably going to resign from the group. I think many of the good women who belong to the group are embarrassed by the tasteless article in their newsletter, and how she ruined the good name of their organization. Many of the women were livid at what happened, and how they became a joke because of her.

On a conservative blog, there was a 25+ person response until the publisher Scott Graves ended up deleting the post because its honestly embarrassing. I have a PDF file of the thread.

I do not want Obama elected, but these crackpots from the conservative wingnut community are the biggest helpers for the Obama cause.

Republican "Apologies"

Republicans have a particular proclivity for saying the vilest things and then being all cutesy about it, apologizing for the remark that has already done immense damage. The "apology" is supposed to absolve them of their bigotry, hatred, and just disgusting lack of manners. Their model for this ethics-lacking behavior comes straight out of Karl Rove's "play book"...and they are trained to used this tactic, whether they be tv loudmouths, members of state legislatures, candidates for office, or Governors of Alaska. (ooops....I forgot....Ms. Palin says the most immature, hateful, and "hockey Mom" poppycock but she has NEVER apologized for doing that. Must be because she hasn't gotten past page 3 of the Rove Training Manual yet.)

I am not black, but yes I am a gay guy and Ive been in the party since I was 18. I was the first openly gay legislative candidate in my county. Oddly I won more votes than the city councilman who spent 300x more money than I did, and I won more votes than Lou Sheldon's assistant.

This is the election cycle that is driving out most of the good Republicans out of the party. Where they are either becoming Libertarians like the opinion page editor of the Orange County Register, they are becoming Democrats and becoming decline to state.

I spent sometime looking through the INFINITELY unattractive photo ablums of this federation of Repig women.

Sadly This Does Not Surprise Me

Hello All:

Found your site when a few thousand of you stopped by my blog to look at my postings of the Obama/Noose thread. This post's subject, the racially charge Obama Bucks is not surprising me only because there is so much of it of late...IE, I put a post up on my blog today about an official GOP web site out in California allowing material on its official site calling for the Water Boarding of Obama.  Yesterday, or the day before I posted about Al Austin, a very high profile Republican donor in Florida who sent out a joke about the assassination of both Michelle and Barack Obama.  This hate mongering is being driven and encouraged by the National GOP, a last ditch attempt (in my opinion) to once again steal the election by playing on our fears, bringing up old wounds, fanning old insecurities and hatreds that had almost healed.

Anyway, created an account tonight, and look forward to getting to know a few of the people here.

Keep the spirit of a child alive in your heart, and you can still spy the shadow of a unicorn when walking in the woods.
