Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Hilary Rosen on the Situation Room framing Prop 8

by: Pam Spaulding

Thu Oct 30, 2008 at 06:00:00 AM EDT

There hasn't been a lot of attention in the MSM given to Prop 8 (or the AZ or FL amendments), so this opportunity by Hilary Rosen to frame the issue on CNN was a great one. Here's the transcript:

BLITZER: When Californians go to the polls on Tuesday, they will be asked to voted on an initiative to amend the state's constitution to ban same-sex marriage.

Let's discuss this and more in our "Strategy Session." Joining us, our CNN political contributor Hilary Rosen -- she's an editor at large at TheHuffingtonPost.com -- and Republican consultant and CNN political contributor Alex Castellanos.

Guys, thanks very much for joining us.

Hilary, is this Proposition 8, as it's called, which would ban same-sex marriage in California, is it likely to pass or not pass?

HILARY ROSEN, CNN POLITICAL CONTRIBUTOR: Well, the polls are neck and neck. But it's important to -- for people to understand that the California Supreme Court essentially said that the equal protection clause of that state's constitution protects gays and lesbians, including the right to marry.

So, what this proposition does, it -- it actually amends the state constitution to take gays and lesbians out of the equal protection clause. That's why people are so up in arms about it. It -- it would be the first time you would actually amend the constitution to take rights away from people.

BLITZER: The -- the governor, the Republican governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Alex, he says he's going to vote against this Proposition 8. He doesn't think -- he doesn't support such a constitutional amendment that would define marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

What do you think's going to happen?

ALEX CASTELLANOS, CNN POLITICAL CONTRIBUTOR: Well, I think -- I think this is a different year. You know, Californians did vote 61 percent against gay marriage.

But, this year, you have got Barack Obama -- not only Arnold Schwarzenegger, but Barack Obama -- who's opposing it, and he is on the ballot this year. And he is right now at 60 percent in the polls in California. So, I think this year may be a different year for that ballot proposition.

BLITZER: We will watch that on Tuesday as well.

Obama's Yes on 8 button
I can't wait to see how Obama's 20% lead translates in the Prop 8 results in California.

Considering how little he has done with all of the money he has and the popularity he has in California, Obama's margin of success compared to the results on Prop 8 will be very revealing.

If 8 passes with Obama getting 20% more support than McCain what will the reaction of LGBT Democrats be?

I'm sure we can frame this without Hilary Rosen's expertise:  abdication.

Complete surrender.  No one will ask him why he allowed this to happen while he looked the other way.  Good Democrats will be too eager to put their own citizenship - and that of their LGBT neighbors and families - in the recycle bin because of the supposed greater good of electing Obama in some 21 century version of life in the closet.  Don't demand a politician defend your filthy homosexual citizenship and he will promise to be your BFF.

For Christs' sake even Dianne Feinstein put her face in a commercial...but Obama can't say anything more than what he wrote in a letter to a political club - months ago.

The man is the living example of the power of equal protections and he can't think of a way to speak about the importance of preserving that principle.

61% = 20% of registered voters at the time
The Antis love referring to Prop 22 passing in 2000 by 61% of the vote.  What that translates to is that a little more than 4+ million people voted for the California DOMA law.  At that time the number of registered voters in California was over 20 million people....  So  much for majority rules.

not to mention...
that Prop 22 passed in a primary election where Republican turnout was much higher than Democratic.

Still, if 8 passes...I have a rather bitterly sarcastic "congratulations" flyer to print out and leave on the windshields of people with those ugly yellow bumper stickers.  And then, if California hasn't fixed the state constitution by the time I finish my M.S., I'm leaving the country.
