Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Trial balloon: Michael Steele as RNC head

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Nov 11, 2008 at 15:30:00 PM EST

(UPDATE: I emailed this to Oliver Willis, who said "SWEET. I wonder if rapist Mike Tyson will endorse Steele again?" )

I have to hand it to the Republicans -- they are so transparent that it continues to boggle the mind. First they put Sarah "any vajajay will do" Palin on the prez ticket, and that blew up in their faces. Now it looks like the party of Klansmen, low-information, garden-variety bigots, and bible beaters is looking to put a little color at the top of its otherwise snow-white leadership.

A behind-the-scenes battle to take the reins of the Republican National Committee is taking off between former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele.

Neither man will acknowledge his interest in the post, but Republicans close to each are burning up the phone lines and firing off e-mails to fellow party members in an effort to oust RNC Chairman Mike Duncan in the wake of the second consecutive drubbing of Republican candidates at the polls.

A bevy of backers for each man, neither of whom is an RNC member, say the committee needs a leader who can formulate a counter-agenda to President-elect Barack Obama's administration and articulate it on the national stage.

I guess any negro will do for this crowd; then again, they don't have too many to choose from these days. At least Steele isn't a bubblehead, but he's definitely anti-gay, so that fits the bill. His name was actually floated the last time the post was vacated, in 2006 -- by Ken Mehlman. Steele, during his failed U.S. Senate race, said:
Steele told religious leaders gathered in Lanham earlier this month that marriage is a covenant exclusively for one man, one woman and God.

"Marriage is not a purely human institution," he said, according to a report in the Baltimore Examiner. "Marriage defines not only the relationship between a man and a woman but also their journey through life. They should not be brow-beaten into thinking something that goes counter to what the people in the community aspire to."

...Steele, who serves under Gov. Robert Ehrlich, has publicly opposed same-sex marriage for several years. He and other members of Ehrlich's administration opposed marriage equality in 2004 after the American Civil Liberties Union sued the city of Baltimore claiming that the state's law prohibiting gay marriage violates the Maryland Constitution. A Baltimore Circuit Court judge has since ruled the law is unconstitutional.

Hey, when the sex scandal took out Jack Ryan in Illinois
the Republican's brought in carpet-bagger Alan Keyes to try to defeat the Democratic candidate for US Senate: Barack Obama.

That went well.

Please excuse the feral apostrophe in Republicans

I was just coming here to nominate Alan Keyes
I think he'd be perfect for the job.

Newt,,,There is a suprise,
Instead of new ideas, run on the old stuff.  What a plan for the republican party.  This guy Steele is no prize either, but hey, I'm not a republican.  Going after the anti-gay vote, that's a great plan to attract younger voters.

Keep on going.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Well as the resident Republican here
I am going to contribute an essay for a conservative blog's essay series How to reform the Republican party. Being anti-immigrant and anti-gay is not going to do much.

I know its fun to see my party destroy itself. I know I pop the popcorn and watch the fratricide happen.

If they go for Steele...
they're not going for the gay vote, they're going for Hispanics and Blacks. And that could result in a big enough swing to pull back some seats in Congress, perhaps even the House or Senate.

How many voters does the leader of the RNC pull in
or the DNC for that matter.  I am voting republican because the RNC leader is black.  Not happening.  If I remember correctly, the job of these leaders is to promote the party's message and platform, and help get people out to vote.  The skin color of this individual has no meaning to 99% of the party voters.

No one on the TV will say it out right. They know they need to reach out to the African-American populations, but that is hard to do when the base of the republican party is the KKK and Homophobic Christians.  All you have to do is look back at the crowds that McSame and Bible Spice drew in.

The republican party has no leader.  Rush Limbaugh when asked by Greta Vansusten who is the leader, Rush even said there isn't one.  Many think Bible Spice is going to be their savior, I say go for it.  She has become known to the voters and would have to reinvent herself.  This day and age of the internets and instant communication isn't going to let that happen.

Depending on how well President Obama does in his first two years will say a lot.  But President Obama also has the message he can and will use(IMHO) Bush's mess is more to clean up than we knew. It took 8 years to make the mess, 2 years isn't enough to clean it up.  Now Americans want instant gradification, and if progress is being made, Obama will have coat tails in the mid term 2010 elections.

Bush is setting the republican party up for failure already. GM is falling apart and it is still Bush's watch, even though he is a lame duck. The Democrats are calling for action NOW. Americans are calling for action NOW.  The lame duck republicans want to sit on their asses to hand President Obama a bigger mess.

2009, the US has no authority to stay in Iraq.  Gitmo is being handed to President Obama to clean up.  Bush has been busy signing executive orders President Obama will have to straighten out. And who knows what else Bush will screw up in the next 69 days.

With all that, tell me an African-American with the same tired message of the GOP is going to sway voters over to the GOP.

One other thing that will change the landscape is our effort to overturn prop 8. If it is ruled to be unconstitutional for the reason a majority can not vote on a minority's rights, The republican base will go apeshit, but the ruling based on the constitution is easily explainable.  But I am sure you know about Loving vs Virginia where a few activist judges changed the law of the land.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

A devout Catholic
At least that is how US News and World Report describes him.  He is firmly against embyronic stem cell research, but equivocal on the issue of abortion.

If you want allies, you have to be an ally.

I hope they keep it up.
I'd love to witness the destruction of the Republican party. What a joy that would be.

With a bit of luck, they could split into two parties (or some could join the libertarians) and keep the Democrats in power for a good long while.

I'm probably speaking to the choir, but . . .
If Michael Steele is chosen, expect a LOT of gaybaiting. He is being looked at, no doubt, because of the Obama factor. But he is also affiliated with the Family Research Council.

But there is a good sign. He does NOT have a good reputation with the African-American community due to several controversies. Picking him could backfire.

Well, at least they won't have to go through the gears.
They already have a full-speed homobigot at the ready.

and yet another RELIGIOUS excuse
Steele told religious leaders gathered in Lanham earlier this month that marriage is a covenant exclusively for one man, one woman and God.

If G-d has anything to do with it, neither the states nor federal government should be providing licenses let alone any rights/benefits based on marital status.

Steele
While Lt Gov of Maryland, Steele looked on as College Republicans assaulted elderly women who were demonstrating in support of libraries in low-income communities.

While Steele was in favor of destroying the libraries, he displayed an apalling lack of leadership in allowing his supporters to beat elderly people.

He has never apologized for the incident, nor did he acknowledge the concerns of community activists.

He's already had three strikes. Get out.
Ehrlich/Steele lost their re-election bid.  Steele lost his Senate bid.  Steele was already rejected for RNC chair.  It is time for him to say goodbye to politics, at least if there are elections involved.
