Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Gay senior paralyzed in Detroit hate attack given last rites

by: Pam Spaulding

Fri Feb 23, 2007 at 15:30:00 PM EST

[UPDATE: 8PM -- Barbara Wilcox @gay.com reports that he has died. "So many people want to pay their respects," Anthos' niece, Athena Fedenis, told Gay.com on Friday, adding that she considers the gay people who've offered to help "like family. The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force has offered to pay for Anthos' funeral.]

G-d damn.

Andrew Anthos, the victim of what appears to be an anti-gay assault in Detroit, slipped into a coma Thursday night and was administered last rites, his niece, Athena Fedenis, reported Friday.

"His breathing is very shallow and doctors don't expect him to make it through the next 24 hours," Fedenis said.

No arrest has been made. Where are all the condemnations from the bible-beating moralist about of the pipe-wielding maniac who bashed a 72-year-old gay man paralyzing him from the neck down and now near death. Note that you won't find any mention of it in Freeperland. For once these folks have nothing to say about a story involving a homo.

It's hard to quell the rage, disbelief and despair.

Let's post that quote from Shakes Sis once again, about the constant sh*tstorm of hate being bleated from the pulpit in the name of "religious freedom" that condemns a whole group of taxpaying citizens:

Like the sexualization and objectification of women in the media being psychologically damaging to girls, the constant drumbeat of negative stereotypes and exploitative hatred issued by the GOP and social/religious conservative leaders is dangerous for members of the LGBT community. And the hatemongers' faux-naïveté at the reality that you can't continually put a target on someone's back but expect no one to shoot at it is growing really goddamned old.
Hat tip to Andy @ Towleroad, who said: "No arrests have been made and "Detroit Police spokesman Leon Rahmaan declined Friday to assign a motive." Uh, doesn't screaming "faggot" and beating someone into a coma with a pipe pretty much describe the motive? Come on!

My earlier post is here.

Write to Pete
Maybe you should write to Pete LaBarbera and get an opinion.  He certainly seems to enjoy communicating with you and writing things about you.

you won't find any mention of it in Freeperland
Perhaps that is for the best.  I'm so saddened by this I don't think I could handle reading those creatures gloat and chortle.

Just wait
They will. It takes a few days for things not on Fox News to reach their radar.

And they'll find a way to blame the victim, just like they did for those guys who were beaten in the Caribbean.

too sad for words,
but i'll have some later for the next sanctimoneous creep who spews within earshot.

Lurleen on Twitter

I'm in the line of folks too sad...
...for words.

My anger is getting the better of me
My silence and utter shock is broken.

I CANNOT for the life of me figure out why federal hate crimes legislation isn't even on anyone's radar screen.

The Democrats may not "be there yet" on our right to marry, but they need to "get there" quick on hate crimes.  It's well past time they show the respect for life they so easily spout off about to our community as well.  Or, are we simply not good enough to warrant living?

This is what I posted on the DNC blog:

"Fine, this party doesn't think we're good enough to marry each other, that we're inferior because of the way we love, but DAMN IT...do something right for a change, do something positive and respectful of those you want votes out of. This party may not be "there yet" on the other issues, but it's time to "get there" on our basic right to live, for our lives to have value and worth, and for us to be able to live and love without constant fear. For Christ's sake, be a human being with a heart and DO SOMETHING!"

Let's see how long the chirping of crickets lasts.

Update
I haven't had a chance to check the DNC blog, but an acquaintance over there is in close contact with Dean.  He made a short comment that it was in the pipeline and needs to be addressed.  Okay, whatever that means!  At least I know he heard about it.

Update on my update
Went to the blog and not a DAMN thing said about it...even by those who are normally empathetic.  I just don't get it.  It's so freaking discouraging!  Our society cares more about the next American Idol than someone dying from a hate crime.

Devastating
I've shed many tears of anger and frustration over this story this week.  How many more people does this have to happen to before we treat anti-LGBT vitriol with the seriousness it deserves?!  I'm so pissed I could spit.

Matt Barber's probable response
Where are all the condemnations of bible-beating moralists? Well, based on past comments, I would guess Matt Barber would probably say something like this:

"The attack on Mr. Anthos is both unfortunate and inappropriate. It provides political fodder for those who wish to paint all opposition to the homosexual lifestyle as being rooted in `hate.' However, it's perfectly natural for people to be repelled by disordered sexual behaviors that are both unnatural, and immoral. This attack only serves to foment misperceptions of widespread homosexual `victimhood' which the homosexual lobby has craftily manufactured."

Is there anyway
to get this story a bigger landscape?  Should I send letters to the editor?  Should I call the cable news networks?  Should I call my representatives and tell them about this and demand that they take work for hate crimes legislation?  For me, the answer to all of those is yes.

Should I googlebomb the story?  I'm more than willing to add it to my template and link to it often (the McCain story is still on the first google page of "John McCain" and "McCain" searches.

What I really feel like doing is taking to the streets, screaming!

Electricity's for light bulbs!

Welcome To The Fascist Theocracy That Is America 2007
There needs to be something at all appalled Americans, gay or straight, can do about this. Does anyone know if the Triangle Foundation up in Detroit is planning any sort of demonstration or tribute?

This also points out the need for the creation of retirement villages for working/middle class GLBTQI so that we can live out our "golden" years safely in the bosom of our own kinds - not just these fancy faggot spas that you need at least %500,000 to get into.
