The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Black Republican consultant scorches Virginia GOP

by: Pam Spaulding

Sun Dec 14, 2008 at 12:00:00 PM EST

We all wondered about the motivations of the Log Cabin Republicans for sticking with the party given its turn to the right with the McCain/Palin ticket, so it goes without saying that blacks trying to effect change in the GOP are having a really hard slog, given how the bigoted McCain mobs made their feelings clear.

Raynard Jackson, a political consultant, has been railing about racism within the party fairly often. In his latest column, he doesn't hold back in blasting the Virginia GOP. Snippets:

Having served as the first and only black to be elected as national committeeman for the Young Republicans Federation of Virginia in the early 1990s, I have spent almost 20 years trying to educate state party leaders about how to get more blacks involved, but to no avail.

...In all my years of involvement with the RPV, there has NEVER been a black in a position of power.  When I say power, I mean someone with hiring or budget authority.  This is somewhat odd when you consider the fact that former governors Jim Gilmore and George Allen had very good relations within the black community and both put blacks in significant position within their administrations.

The problem has always been with the political side of the party-RPV.  I was much too young for the civil rights movement, but attending RPV meetings and functions gave me an idea of what it must have been like during that time.

Ouch. More below the fold.
Pam Spaulding :: Black Republican consultant scorches Virginia GOP
Virginia GOP Chairman Jeffrey Frederick takes a big hit here.
In case the RPV didn't notice, the Democrats carried the state and added a new U.S senator during this month's election.  White conservative voters are a shrinking part of the electorate.  Republicans can get 100% of the conservative white vote, but it wouldn't be enough to win state or nation-wide.  So, what is the RPV's  plan to build a coalition that will make them competitive?  Move further to the right!

So, let me make sure I understand this strategy.  The party just lost the state to a democratic presidential candidate for the first time since 1964, the state has changed from red to blue, they just lost the other U.S. senate seat to a Democrat, they lost control of the state senate, and have a 7 seat lead in the house of delegates, and they want to move even further to the right.  This illogical thinking is what is driving people like me and others away from this party in droves.  What should the party do?

The first thing they should do is to get rid of their racist chairman, Jeff Frederick.  Last month he compared Senator Obama to Osama bin Laden, saying, "they both have friends that bombed the Pentagon."  Which of course is not true. Frederick has yet to apologize for his ignorant remarks...Not one person in leadership from RPV called him to task on this insidious comment.

This is why I have ceased any involvement with the RPV.  If I want to "pal around" with racists, I should have to go to the KKK meeting, not the RPV meeting.

He echoes Colin Powell's recent slam of the national party on its inability to see the country is growing more brown.
I know the RPV will trot out a black or two to attempt to refute my position.  But, can the RPV explain the lack of any blacks in significant positions on their head quarter's staff?  Can they explain the lack of blacks on the staffs of delegates and senators?  Can they explain the lack of black consultants working on statewide campaigns?

As long as the RPV continues to inject race into their campaigns, require conservative litmus tests for participation, and ignore the changing demographics of the state, they are destined to continue losing seats and elections.

The country and Virginia will continue to get less white.  The  RPV is not prepared to accept this reality.  They continue to use 20th century tactics and views in a 21st century world.  Their future is to cling to their past.

I'm no fan of Raynard Jackson's politics -- he wants to foster the belief that all blacks are socially conservative -- and therefore for state womb control and anti-gay -- but he's so disgusted with his party that he voted for Obama. You can hear his disgust with his own party in this Voice of America interview.

The Facts are the Facts,
The Republican Party is the home for Racist White People.  The "Traditional Family Values" bunch they are and they are proud about it.  By "Traditional" they are pre 1960, Racists, Bigots and Homophobes.  The party of the KKK they are.

The Republicans throw out the Guilt by Association card all the time.  Look who their party faithful are.  David Duke of the Lousiana KKK.  James Dobson of Focus on the Family Anus.  Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House and Religious Homobigot #1.

And then their are the talking heads of the Republican party. Rush Limbaugh the talking drug addict, Sean Hannity the right winger who screams over anyone he disagrees with.  Ann Coulter the bigot who claims all liberals are godless.  Gordon Liddy the criminal. the list goes on and on.

As you mentioned Colin Powell, all one has to do is look how the GOP treated him.

I personally would mind seeing the whole republican party become a thing of the past. But they will be their in big numbers as the racist bigotted homophobes are a big voting block they just can get rid of and don't want too.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Typo; I personally wouldn't mind seeing the whole republican

Hey, even Rip van Winkle finally woke up.
It took him 20 years, but he did it.

Maybe someday even the LCR crowd will figure out what chumps they've been.   Of course, that will take a lot longer, but hope springs eternal...

It's about time
a lot of the moderates realized the base really just hates everyone.

I really have nothing else to add other than that I'm watching each new development, reading each new statement with growing glee.

Raynard Jackson is a crook.
Aside from a very weak attempt to play the race card against Jeff Frederick, who may be many things but is not a racist, nor were his comments, Raynard is, himself, a crook.

He setup a political action community, used his 'black' credential in the Republican party to raise money, and then embezzled it all.

I don't know about whether he's a crook
But Jackson obviously didn't coerce Frederick into saying those asshat statements about Obama.

The facts are the facts
The Dixiecrats/Democrats started the KKK. It was dixiecrats/democrats that lynched blacks. It was a democrat that used dogs and hoses in Selma. It was democrats that fillerbusted the civil rights act as recently as the mid 1960's. One of those democrats was awarded the rank of Grand Kleagle from the KKK for his good work.

Let's get current...

Planned parenthood founder believed non-white races were inferior, routinely gave speeches at KKK rallies. Planned parenthood has 85% of their abortion mills in minority neighborhoods, despite the fact there are more poor white people. Blacks are approximately 13% of the population yet account for 36% of all abortions. Why does the party that started the KKK endorse and subsidize an agency that is responsible for the deaths of so many black babies.

Public school is failing in black communities at an alarming rate. It' so bad they won't even put out numbers regarding the number of black children dropping out and failing out in school. No supplies, the worst teachers, the schools are falling apart. Why do people paid by tax dollar that refuse to do their job and help black children get an education support the same party that started the KKK? Pro-choice only counts for killing black babies, not for giving a black parent a choice of education for their child. After all, an uneducated black is not a threat to democrats. Just the opposite, he will be dependent on the democrats for everything and will obediently vote democrat.

Privatize social security? Average age for a black male is 65, the same age they can start collecting social security. Since most likely his children are adults and it's become so fashionable to have children by different baby mommas and not get married, ALL the money the man paid into the system is given to a white person with a longer life expectancy. If a part of the workers social security money was privatized and he was able to leave it to his children, quite possibly his children could be the first in the family to own their home. Or pass it along to a grandchild to be the first in the family to go to college.

Use crack, go to jail. Use powder cocaine, get a slap on the wrist. What a wonderful law Joe Biden wrote. Nothing like locking up blacks for drugs and letting whites go free.

The more liberal the city, the less of a black population. (San Fran, Seattle, etc.)

Why is the black on black crime epidemic so much worse in cities under democrat control. What are democrats doing to help the black population. My grandmother lived in watts, 35th place and vermont, back in the 60s. (5 houses away from Vermont where the Watts riots happened) I played there as a kid, with crime the way it is now I would never let my kids play there today. The fact that almost every house has bars on the windows says something about the problem in the black community. And think, 40 years ago kids played in the streets and homes didn't need bars on the windows. What a wonderful community the democrats have helped build.

What about all the laws during the Clinton presidency that hurt blacks more than whites. 3 strike laws that ripped families apart.
It's not just blacks that democrats don't like, how about gays? Don't ask don't tell. Defense of marriage act. Even Obama is against gay marriage. How progressive is that?

Why is it okay for democrats to throw Oreos at Micheal Steele, all the while insisting that republicans are racist? Where was the outrage from blacks that vote democrat?

Since facts are facts...

Maybe someone can explain to me what the republicans did in the last 30-40 years to overcome all the atrocities the democrats perpetrated upon blacks for decades.

What the Republicans did
Well, basically, they welcomed with open arms all the Democrats who committed the atrocities--and wanted to keep on committing them--when those people left the Democratic party.

Dems had a horrible history going back to before the Civil War as the racist party.  Yet, still, they were the ones who committed as a matter of principle to a civil rights agenda, beginning under Roosevelt and achieving fruition under Johnson.  Nixon explicitly welcomed the Southerners and other who stormed out of the party in response.  And a few years later Saint Ronald launched his presidential campaign in--of all places--Philadelphia, Mississippi, with a rally in support of "states' rights".  The rest is history, yadda yadda.

The thing is, Republicans have milked that strategy ever since, advancing their political fortunes by stoking resentment and division of all kinds, racial and otherwise.  Problem is, in order to keep the hate potent, you've had to keep expanding the range of people to be hated.  (It's a hungry beast.)  You've just about hit 50% of the population now, which may be why the old standby isn't working like it used to.

Just to post that?

Look, it's not a matter of labels. That sort of philosophy is repugnant no matter what one calls it.

Besides, you lost at "abortion mill."

Not to mention, the current group with the democrat label isn't opposed to pretty much everything. No they don't support gay marriage, but we'll see more advancement with them than with republicans.

The rest is history, yadda yadda.
Strange I can't find any list of the Democrats that changed party to Republicans. Maybe someone has one bookmarked?

Let's look at the two most vocal democrats that fillerbusted the civil rights act. Robert "grand kleagle" Byrd and Al Gore Sr. Neither switched party.

Lulz, you cannot be serious...
As to suggest that somehow the Republicans were the party of the Civil Rights movement. You cannot possibly be that daft. I mean it's one thing to point out the racist establishment of the democratic party and how racism was prevalent even amongst the party that eventually supported the civil rights movement. It's entirely another to act as if the Republican party was the one that had worked to gain the rights of blacks/POC.

Also; black neighborhoods are also shitty in conservative states as well, so your point is moot there. You want to know the reason why it's bad? Because people don't care that much about poor families and neighborhooods, hell even poor people themselves in some instances (before someone pops in with the' You don't have the right to say they don't care!one111") Race and class are linked heavily in this country, you cannot leave a discussion with one without the other and in doing so, you can never get to the issues at heart of why black neighborhoods are not safe, have horrible public schools, etc. without talking about class and status.

And another thing? Planned Parenthood's involvement in black neighborhoods is similar to the way it is involved in other LOW-INCOME, working class neighborhoods. Women in low income neighborhoods and environments tend to have less choice than those not and as such, Planned Parenthood is involved in black neighborhoods. Does that make Planned Parenthood's history with the eugenics movement any less racist? No. However, it's also important to know that there are black people who are in support of family planning and do not refer to such "killing black babies" as some plot by the White Man in this day and age.

Especially since there are dozens of other ways that the country is designed to take us down...

Dude, where do you get this crap from?

Democrats and Republicans switched places after 1964 Civil Rights Act
passage. Initially reluctant/cautious, but finally strongly supportive/strong-arming for passage of the bill, LBJ famously said that the CRA's passage had cost the Democrats the South for at least a generation.

White conservatives largely abandoned the cities after legal restrictive covenants were abolished by the US Supreme Court and just a small percentage of whites in lower middle class inner ring city neighborhoods got the gumption or the self-interest to sell houses to blacks, and blacks acquired some level of political influence sufficient to keep the city officials and powerbrokers from overtly supporting lower-middle class white homeowners in attempts to keep blacks out. There was usually one high-priced pocket, in the city limits of each city, that the powerbrokers and realtor networks kept white until 1980s-1990s pressure from increasing numbers of highly affluent black professionals.

Overall real estate overvaluation and gentrification are separate issues with as much class as race content. Black doctors and lawyers and stockbrokers do just fine in these situations, but black - and white - lower income people are squeezed out. Since the income distribution differs between black and white, with smaller percent of upper-middle class and higher income blacks than of whites, cities or boroughs with limited central space (and small city limits), high demand, and consequent overvaluation and subsequent gentrification of border lower-middle class or lower class areas (think San Francisco or Manhattan), percentage of blacks will decrease in said cities and boroughs. I expect that the net effect is that these formerly liberal cities will become more conservative in terms of economics. In other words, these types of cities could revert to the original city pattern (worldwide, through history) in which the central city is occupied by the wealthy and the fringes are occupied by the poor.

The comment about Planned Parenthood abortion-providing clinics being located in larger cities, which by their nature currently have a higher percentage of minorities than outer suburbs, relates to two things:
1. Urban areas are dominant in provision of scarce medical services of all kinds, whether surgical abortion or liver transplantation. This is because major cities are transportation hubs for the whole region, and because many scarce services depend on academic medical centers or on shared resources used by a large number of individual hospitals. Liver transplantation is a good example: several highly trained specialists who need large catchment areas to get enough patients to maintain skills and also need to be able to cross-cover each other; helicopter and small plane services to ship surgeons to outlying hospitals to harvest donated organs from the dead donor; tissue typing lab. with 24-7-365 technical and interpretive coverage; substantial regional blood bank network (a single hospital blood bank is insufficient); and so on. Abortion services aren't high-tech, but a lot of medical services aggregate in large urban centers whether or not the services are too high tech for a medium-sized hospital - plastic surgeons, interventional radiologists doing cardiac caths and coronary stents, pediatric general surgeons...
2. Abortion-providing clinics are unusually subject to NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) - more unpopular than halfway houses for mentally ill and for non-violent (white) drug addicts and juvenile delinquents, and less unpopular than convict probation half-way houses and homeless shelters for the chronically homeless mentally ill, addicts, alcoholics. Larger cities have no particular ability to exclude all of the above NIMBYs from the city limits, but suburbs often do have the ability, via juridicial, legal protest, and poitical string-pulling, to exclude NIMBYs. Furthermore, larger landlords avoid renting commercial properties to known NIMBYs, particularly those known by past history to be targeted for bombing. The result is that the average abortion clinic is located in an urban area in a low-priced or unstable mid-priced commercial/ light industrial district - the usual fate of any of the least-wanted NIMBY entities. Such areas tend to be close to lower-class or poor residential neighborhoods, if close to any residences at all. Such neighborhoods tend to be majority-minority.

You can't talk about race and make any sense, without also talking about economics, power, and long-term effect of racism on blacks' ability as a group to gain equity and power beyond a hypersegregated community.

Wow...
I should have read this response first 'cause it basically said everything I did, but um.. yeah...

...better...
