Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Pivotal Austin, Texas transgendered figure found dead

by: sput

Thu Dec 18, 2008 at 12:13:30 PM EST

Very, very sad news from the city of Austin, Texas.  The enigmatic, unique, and altogether eclectic transgendered & homeless Jennifer Gale was found dead earlier today in her beloved home city.
Jennifer Gale, one of Austin's most colorful characters and perennial political candidates, has been found dead in Central Austin, authorities said today.

Gale, who was homeless and was a candidate in the upcoming mayoral race, was found sleeping outside the First English Lutheran Church at 3001 Whitis Avenue by a worker about 6 a.m. today, Fire Department spokeswoman Michelle DeCrane said.

The worker returned about an hour later, thought Gale might be in distress, and called 911, DeCrane said.

Despite performing CPR, authorities pronounced Ms. Gale dead shortly thereafter.

A stalwart in 'keep it weird' Austin politics, Ms. Gale was known for her unique stylings and outspoken agenda.

Gale routinely attended Austin City Council meetings, county commissioners court and school board meeting, often presenting her political arguments in song. On Tuesday, she sang "Silent Night" at a city health and human services subcommittee meeting.

Think she might be a little crazy?  I personally think that the list of legislative priorities from Ms. Gale's official website might give us moment to pause.

Jennifer Gale's Platform for Austin

  1. Healthcare, Dental, full physical and eye exam every year by paying in monthly.
  2. Representation through weekly meetings at Reagan, Crockett, Anderson and Travis High School.
  3. Widespread Single-Stream Recycling and an Austin MRF.
  4. Recognition of Lesbian and Gay Relationships.
  5. Our pets want a "No Kill" policy, spay and neuter.
  6. Children's education in law, physics, chemistry, calculus.
  7. Expanded bus routes
  8. Bike avenues, Bike Lane removals
  9. Drug Rehabilitation
 10. Work for the homeless and incarcerated.
 11. Rebates for solar power and hybrid cars
 12. Maintain aquifer and park areas.
 13. Promote farming and animal husbandry
 14. Voter Choice
 15. Neighborhood Integrity

R.I.P. Jennifer Gale.

Austin Politics is about to get a lot less interesting
Gale was a perpetual candidate. She never had a chance at winning any race, but she brought a voice to those races that needed to be heard. She worked tirelessly for the issues she was passionate about and were important issues of social justice and will be sorely missed by many in the Austin community. Despite being homeless, she never lost her hope in bettering the communities in which she lived, which also included Dallas and her community of the Marine Corp when she was in the service.

Rest in peace, Jennifer.

The sickest part of this story were the comments.

The Dallas Morning News has a story up entitled Transgendered former Dallas mayoral candidate Jennifer Gale found dead in Austin...some of the comments that the newspaper scrubbed from the online comments section of this article were truly beyond the pale.

She was human. It's painful seeing when some treat a given trans person as less-than-human, especially when that less-than-human language about a given trans person is expressed in regards to that trans person's death.
