The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Elaine Donnelly unglued over possible gay pick for Secretary of the Navy

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Dec 23, 2008 at 12:00:00 PM EST

Elaine Donnelly, the doyenne of discrimination at the Center for Military Readiness is already getting her knickers in a twist over the possibility that Barack Obama might select an openly gay man to be Secretary of the Navy.
"Frankly I think it would show poor judgment on his part to make this type of an appointment," she shares -- and admits White's name coming up was "something of a surprise" to friends of hers to know White, like him, and appreciate his work.

Elaine Donnelly"[But] if he is identified as [being considered for Navy secretary] and becomes a symbol of the issue of gays in the military, that could distort the debate in Congress -- and that's what I'm concerned about," laments the military watchdog. "Congress needs to look at this very objectively."

I'm not sure what "distortion" she's talking about. This next paragraph is a jaw-dropper, considering all of the wholly unqualified, partisan tools that filled the Bush administration.
"I don't think it ought to be a purely political appointment," she says of the Navy secretary's position. "[But] the fact that there is no military experience there would argue that he was appointed for some other reason -- and if that reason is perceived to be support for repeal of the law on gays in the military, that would be the problem."
This is a civilian position, by the way, so there is no requirement that someone must have a military background.

BTW, Elaine, who has no military background and zero qualifications of any kind to speak with authority on the subject, went on live TV and gave bigoted, fact-challenged testimony before Congress that was ridiculed not only by the people in the hearing room, but on The Daily Show, and in the mainstream media.

More below the fold.

Pam Spaulding :: Elaine Donnelly unglued over possible gay pick for Secretary of the Navy
Dana Milbank of the WaPo:
Donnelly treated the panel to an extraordinary exhibition of rage. She warned of "transgenders in the military." She warned that lesbians would take pictures of people in the shower. She spoke ominously of gays spreading "HIV positivity" through the ranks.

"We're talking about real consequences for real people," Donnelly proclaimed. Her written statement added warnings about "inappropriate passive/aggressive actions common in the homosexual community," the prospects of "forcible sodomy" and "exotic forms of sexual expression," and the case of "a group of black lesbians who decided to gang-assault" a fellow soldier.

At the witness table with Donnelly, retired Navy Capt. Joan Darrah, a lesbian, rolled her eyes in disbelief. Retired Marine Staff Sgt. Eric Alva, a gay man who was wounded in Iraq, looked as if he would explode.

As Steve Ralls of PFLAG notes, she's desperate to restore what imaginary credibility she believes she had prior to her homo-obsessed C-SPAN meltdown.
It has long been a high-priority of Donnelly and other extremists to organize veterans services organizations to counter momentum in Congress, which has shifted to pro-repeal advocates over the past few years. As more and more veterans - such as retired Joint Chiefs Chairman John Shalikashvili and Lieutenant General Claudia Kennedy - have joined efforts to topple the law, Donnelly has become increasingly desperate to find allies who will join her in advocating for the continued exclusion of lesbian and gay Americans from the armed forces.

Those efforts have failed miserably. In addition to the support of more than five dozen high-ranking military veterans, the effort to repeal the law is also supported by 148 lawmakers in the House of Representatives.

...And if July's hearings in Congress are any indication, Thursday afternoon should be the last, sad show that brings down the curtain on Donnelly's already-lost crusade.

Unfortunately for her movement, she's not finding friends in the military willing to give her the time of day - or even answer her phone calls at this point.

She really needs to laid
the prospects of "forcible sodomy"

She is not only completely insane, but doesn't she know that that call Rape!  Doesn't she know that the Military will Court Martial a Rapist and he will be spending some time in the Brig.

She is so blind with rage that she can no longer see the absurdity of her claims.

Besser ein ende mit Schrecken als ein Schrecken ohne ende

oh, she knows.
but she wants to make it sound like some extra special spooky crime against Natural Order when it's committed by a gay person.  if she just said "gay criminals will be held accountable just as straight ones are", she wouldn't have that special fear factor all paid homophobes rely on.

Oh Elaine, dear, dear Elaine
that could distort the debate

We wouldn't want anyone to distort the debate now would we. Especially not with baseless lies and unfounded apocolyptic warnings of impending doom...

Donnelly treated the panel to an extraordinary exhibition of rage. She warned of "transgenders in the military." She warned that lesbians would take pictures of people in the shower. She spoke ominously of gays spreading "HIV positivity" through the ranks.

Oops! Now, how did that get there?

Well
For some odd reason the Holiday Season has become a little more cheery.

Pam,

Thank you, Rick Warren
On the one hand, Obama needs to show some love to the gays right now.

On the other hand, if White is chosen on the heels of the Warren controversy, the right will go "batsh*t crazy" (crazier) and all the goodwill he has engendered (which I don't think is much, quite frankly) will be for naught.

It's a pickle.  But if White is chosen, it's clear that the Warren debacle will be to thank/blame, depending on your point of view.

Thanks, Rick!

The comics will have a field day.
I'd love to see White get appointed to secretary of the Navy, but I hope everyone is prepared for an endless stream of jokes about how a gay man is in charge of the nation's seamen - set to "In the Navy" by the Village People.  Brace yourselves.

If Mr. White is the most qualified for the job,
He should get the job.  His sexual orientation has nothing to do with the ability to do his job.

As for people taking pictures in the shower. What a looney tune.  Just another example of the Haters claiming LGBT people think about sex 24/7.

What a complete homo-obsessed loser.  And I bet she claims to have gay friends too.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Hey I've slept with more sailors than Elaine has!
By rights I should get that appointment.

Of all the branches of the service whose pleasures I've enjoyed the Navy is Numero Uno. Great bods, no 'tude, and all enclosed in what Jean Genet has cited as "the most erotic piece of clothing ever concieved."

Cher clearly agrees with him

Hey, she'd be perfect for that job too. Doncha think?

Ooo! Ooo! I'm A transgender Navy vet...

...I could at least be the Deputy Navy Secretary!

As a Navy veteran (and a queer one, at that)
I'd like to know what White's qualifications are. The fact that he has never served in uniform makes me uneasy. All we know is that he's a great fundraiser and ran the Intrepid museum and that, of course, he's queer. Could I please see his case on the merits?

As for Elaine Donnelly, well, she can go fuck herself with a splintered 2x4 for all I care.

qualifications
don't matter to people like her . Any public official who is openly gay is automatically a homosexual activist and therefore imposing their agenda on america. that is how their ilk sees anyone  in the public eye who is lgbt.

[ Parent ]
Ah, I see now.
That explains why she thinks herself a credible voice on the subject of what's good for the military despite having no military, academic, or public policy credentials whatsoever.

military background
This is a civilian position, by the way, so there is no requirement that someone must have a military background.

I agree Keori.  I really think that anyone serving in a position such as this should have not only a military background but think they'd want to choose someone who served in that branch of the armed forces.  I'm sure there are quite a few eminently qualified ex-military types who could serve as Secretary for each branch of the armed forces.

[ Parent ]
It's a political appointment.
"On the merits" doesn't apply, sorry to say.  The most important qualification is: did he support the new president?  Real qualifications are secondary.  So it has been, so it is, so it ever shall be.  That's the way political patronage works here and everywhere.  Was Julie Myers most qualified to be the Administrator of Immigration & Customs Enforcement?  Was 'Berto Gonzalez the most qualified possible candidate for Attorney General?  As far as never having served in uniform ... Paul Wolfowitz, Neocon Supreme, as Deputy SecDef, anyone?  (And getting back to that most-qualified thing ....)

I'm not saying this is how things should be, just how they are.

[ Parent ]
My only point for that is simple
Actually having done the job tends to imbue a modicum of reality into discussions such as "do we really need this gazillion dollar littoral ship project?" and "are we really okay sharing intelligence about piracy in the Horn of Africa with the Chinese?" and "how the fuck do we do network-centric warfare right in a joint environment when every branch of service has all their own legacy systems they refuse to give up?"

Just sayin'. Seeing as I live in that reality as a vet and now a DOD civilian, I'd like to know if my next boss will really understand what's going on.

I've never been so proud
of my elected official, Vic Snyder, as during that hearing.  He looked ready to explode and all but tore her a new a$$hole on television.

I love me some Vic.

(and I told him that too!)

Even Connecticut Republican Chris Shays
Ripped her apart in true cranky New Englander fashion. I sent my former Rep a thank you card for that performance.

DADT
Military history: Air Force: honorably discharge Vietnam era service VOLUNTEER.

Sexuality - Almost too hetero for my own good.

Background - DADT didn't exist.  Homosexuals could be tossed out at any time under the guise that their closeted 'crimes' could be used against them (blackmail) by foreign or domestic terrorists (called them SPIES back then).  I volunteered immediately after Vietnam so I could get my service requirement taken care of and fund my education. It was a calculated risk I took to squeeze in and out of the military after 'Nam and before Panama.  The military really wasn't too focused on the gay menace to be honest, since something like half the returning vets from Vietnam were hooked on heroin.  Marijuana use in the dorms was de facto.  You could get a contact high walking in the hallway of the military police barracks.  They busted a few people for it (slap on wrist), but you had to be stupid enough to leave a two foot high bong sitting on the coffee table in your room on a POSTED inspection day.  Otherwise, drug enforcement was, as it is in our civil system today, applied capriciously and with political expediency.  My understanding is that before DADT, during my career, less homosexuals were driven out than after, for the same reasons as I note about the drug enforcement.

Experience - Unapproached by any homosexual in my entire enlistment, even the two homosexual guys living across the hall from me, and I'm one of the more handsome and desirable heterosexuals on the planet.  Conclusion, you're probably not gonna have the gay menace come crashing through your door and slapping you in the face, unless you voluntarily decide to protest the Folsom Street festival in SF.

Analysis of Threats from Gay Menace:  A slight increase on the emphasis of style, but nothing to be alarmed about.

Enjoy.

Mom always told me I was special and I believed her.

Good post, Pam, but the title is eight words too long.
"Elaine Donnelly Unglued" says it all.  And the best thing is, you'd be able to use it over and over, for years to come.

Cynic, n.  A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be.
-Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary

FDR and Theodore Roosevelt
both were assistant Secretaries of the Navy under patronage posted Secretaries.
Both were the driving forces in the department.
Neither had, at the time of their appointments, any military experience.
Both did outstanding jobs,

So, Elaine, any more ways that you want to weaken our military by cutting talent out?

By the way, the surge did not work.

Camp Anaconda is getting it's heaviest mortaring in over a year though the Pres is keeping a lid on it.

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Ewww is that Lilly Tomlin's new character???
That woman looks like a fusion of Ernestine Tomlin and the Church Lady.
