The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Tammy Baldwin named honorary co-chair for the Presidential Inaugural

by: Pam Spaulding

Mon Dec 22, 2008 at 13:45:00 PM EST

Just hit the inbox. Note the whole "inclusive" bone thrown again. It's nice to see Tammy on the list.
In keeping with the President-elect's commitment to an inclusive and bipartisan Inauguration, the list of honorary co-chairs includes members of the President-elect and Vice President-elect's immediate families as well as prominent Americans from both sides of the aisle who have dedicated their lives to selfless service to their fellow citizens.

"Vice President-elect Biden and I are grateful to these distinguished men and women for agreeing to serve as Honorary Co-Chairs for the Inauguration," said President-elect Obama.  "From family members to former Presidents, each of these leaders has an unwavering commitment to bipartisan cooperation and a proud record of service to their community and our country.  They exemplify the spirit of unity and shared purpose this Inauguration will reflect."

The Honorary Co-Chairs for the 2009 Presidential Inauguration are:

President Jimmy Carter
President George H. W. Bush
President William J. Clinton
Mayor Adrian Fenty
Senator Dick Durbin
Senator Dick Lugar
Senator Claire McCaskill
Representative Tammy Baldwin
Representative Artur Davis
Representative Ray Lahood
Representative Linda Sánchez
General Colin Powell
Hunter and Kathleen Biden
Craig Robinson
Dr. Maya Soetoro-Ng

So...
What does an "honorary co-chair" do exactly? Just a symbol of inclusion?

She's in charge
of communications with the marching band.  Positions in the inauguration which might relate to statements of policy or principle are reserved for heterosexuals.

[ Parent ]
Ah
Maybe she helps make posters and rainbow buttons.

[ Parent ]
great, so she'll be giving the invocation then?
otherwise, it's a nice gesture but clearly an after-thought.  she should definitely take part, but obama should be under no illusions that this in any way balances out having a civil rights-revoking homobigot antisemite womb controller xtianist giving the inauguration.

Rep. LaHood
So what's the story with Ray LaHood?  With all the brou-ha-ha surrounding Blagojevich, then Rick Warren, the fact that Obama gave a cabinet position (Sec'y of Transportation) to a REPUBLICAN Congressman wasn't even reported, or barely.

Is he someone I should be scared of?  I don't want to jump to conclusions, but the 21st-century GOP are a scary bunch, taken as a group.  What's his story?

Do we know his stance ...
... on issues of transportation?  Are they fairly left-leaning?  Who gets to pick LaHood's replacement in Congress?  It's not a Democratic governor, by any chance?

If so, Barack essentially removed a homophobe from Congress and put him in a job where he'll have no effect on social justice issues whatsoever and might actually do some good for the country where matters of transportation are concerned ...

I'm tryin' to look on the bright side here ...

Cheers, all.

Does this mean that Blago can sell LaHood's seat, too?  Or, more likely, does it mean another special election?

no, he picked tammy first
because he wanted to cover the queer, woman and pro-choice angles in one fell swoop.  too bad she isn't jewish.

My guess is he is excluding Barney Frank
because he knew that the well read and well informed Frank would go ballistic over the selection of Warren. Which he did, bless him.

go read some other LGBT blogs
they are already trying to calm everyone down about Gay-enslaver Warren
(that is not hyperbole, he supported Akinola's successful effort to sentence LGBT's to hard labour for just being in the same public space together....)

How exactly is "inclusiveness' served
by appointing a lesbian to a position with NO duties or responsibilities and NO official power or authority?  If Obama is so damned inclusive, why are there no LGBT people in his cabinet?  This is just one more attempt to pacify us by feeding us pablum.  An frankly,  though I never thought I'd say this, for the first time I find myself having doubts about Baldwin.  Who'd have thought she'd turn collaborationist?

Write or call Tammy Baldwin
I called Tammy Baldwin's DC office and spoke to a nice assistant, saying I called on Rep. Baldwin to get Obama to rescind his invitation to Rick Warren.  The phone is: (202) 225-2906. And here's the letter I'm sending:
Rep. Tammy Baldwin
446 Rayburn Building
Washington DC 20515

Dear Representative Baldwin:

It's great that you are one of the honorary co-chairs of the Obama Inauguration.

In your role as co-chair, will you please ask President-elect Obama to rescind his invitation to the Rev. Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at his inauguration?

Rev. Warren has said staggeringly unloving things about many people, including LGBT people.  He compares our relationships to incest!  Please tell Mr. Obama that by including the Rev. Warren, he has disincluded LGBT Americans like you and me.

Clearly you were chosen for the co-chair honor in particular because of your work for LGBT Americans.  As a committed Democrat who supports Democratic and LGBT causes, and who has admired your courage, I ask that you stand up for us now, to right this wrong -- and to allow us to share in the hope for a truly inclusive America.

Yours,

Tammy Baldwin isn't the 7th Cavalry...

As I remember she voted for the Barney Frank's Democrat gutted version of ENDA. She's as much a sellout as Frank and the vast majority of Congressional Democrats.

Everytime Obama stabs us in the back he slaps a fig leaf on the open wound. Baldwin, a sellout, is damage control. When he first made his sick deal with Warren and saw the outrage of the LGBT communities he used another fig leaf saying that he'd 'review' Bill Clintons Democrat DADT (although thats back on the back burner again).

Biden was picked to be VP because he's totally on board with the islamophobic war for the oil riches of the muslim Middle East. He and Obama support continued US funding of the ethnic cleansing and apartheid policies committed against Palestinians. Both supported the idea of calling the Iranian Revolutionary guard a terrorist group, opening the way for war. Both support ramping up the murder of civilians in Afghanistan and cross border raids against Syria and Pakistan. McCain has the same politics.

Biden voted for DOMA. He opposes same sex marriage and GLBT equality. He and Obama are bigots. McCain has the same politics.

Biden, the Senator from BoA, wrote the bankruptcy bill that allows credit cardsharks to take bigger bites from working people and consumers. They and the Clintons  oppose socialized medicine. Obama championed and fought for the $8.5 dollars donated by Congress in our name to the retard rich to recoup their losees when they wrecked the economy. McCain has the same politics

Biden and Obama are clearly right wing candidates in a right wing party who fooled many gullible GLBT people into supporting them. Now many of those same people are trying to distance themselves from their gross errors of judgement by criticizing Obama.

Too little, too late, too bad.

The looter rich much prefer working with Democrats like Obama and the Clintons - they're greedier, they fool more people and they're able to get away with a lot more than Republicans.

Baldwin is not a sellout.
You have fallen into Obama's trap.  By appointing a generally well-liked gay legislator to this worthless position, he knows some lgbts will take out their anger on her.  Don't do it - don't fall for Obama's trick!  Obama is the responsible party here.  Let's not forget that.

Baldwin is not a sellout
just to re-enforce the point
ENDA had absolutely no chance of passing  the senate in any form, but the opportunity was there to get heat from the Democratic leadership if she didn't vote on it in the end.
She at least made a principled stand, and very publically.

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

[ Parent ]
Barney Frank's ENDA was a deliberate sellout

to the Chamber of Commerce bigots who make money underpaying us and firing us for specious bigoted reasons when we complain. Anyone LGBT Congressmember who voted for that is a sellout.

Your theory that Obama appointed her to deflect our "anger on her" is wildly innacurate. And it wasn't a trick. He's always shocked when we have the temerity to get angry about his bigotry and he always puts a fig leaf on his open sores.

Obama himself is not a sellout to the GLBT communites. He can't be. Like most leaders of the Democrat or Republican parties he's just your ordinary run of the mill bigot. Frank and Baldwin not only can be sellouts they most certainly were in the case of ENDA.

She made a token stand and then, as even you admit, buckled under pressure from the bigots and sold out. Nothing could be clearer.

The road to our equality is the road away from the Democrat and Republican parties. They are not our friends. They're the enemy.

The looter rich much prefer working with Democrats like Obama and the Clintons - they're greedier, they fool more people and they're able to get away with a lot more than Republicans.

Balancing Warren at the Hetero-Inaugural
To balance Rick Warren,
maybe play Cole Porter's "What a Swell Party This Is", as Melissa Eteridge does the Tango Maureen  with Fred Phelps.

btw. What a Swell Party this is, would make a WICKEDLY funny parody for the Inaugural for those with lyric skills.
I may even try my hand at lyrics since the song is now stuck in my head.

Adding Insult to Injury
Obama promised we might not agree with his decisions but he would talk to us about them. The time for that CONVERSATION with the parties who would be angered was BEFORE the invitation was made publicly to Rick Warren,,,that didn't happen. the Congressional Inaugural committee also knew and said NOTHING. So this vile invitation of Warren was revealed AFTER it couldn't be recinded, and LGBTs were not only blind sided by Obama, but by Reid, Pelosi and Feinstein. This left many gays and lesbians feeling Obama and congress members KNEW they would P*SS US OFF....and didn't CARE.

that NOT CARING is a two way street, members of Congress and Obama will find when they shove gays away, it's WAY WAY WAY harder to bring us back. If you didn't know this, you don't know any gay folks. Insulting and Injuring us....REALLY bad ju ju follows that crud.

What have you done today, to make ya feel PROUD?
