The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Breaking News: Bristol Palin's Baby Has Arriveth!

by: Louise

Mon Dec 29, 2008 at 20:55:58 PM EST

And I sh*t you not- they named the kid "Tripp".

Oh, the jokes that opens up...

From Anchorage Daily News:

Gov. Sarah Palin is a grandmother. The baby's name is Tripp, and he was born Sunday, People magazine is reporting.

Palin's daughter Bristol gave birth to the healthy 7-pound, 4-ounce baby in Palmer, the magazine reports on its Web site.

The full name: Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.

His grandmothers, "Power Tripp" and "Drug Tripp", must be so proud...

Why the last name Johnston?
Because he couldn't be Tripp Palin
...or his initials would be TEMP.

ROTFLMAO!!!
Kisses, Russ... effing GENIUS! :)

Waitress, I'll have what that guy's drinking, please and send him another round as well...

[ Parent ]
last name?
shows he admits to being the father and child support does like those salacious little details. if you let the mother use her last name on birth cert the father is not acknowledged. besides he won't have to adopt the baby if they eventually do get married. a convenience of benefits of marriage we don't have.

Did he ever deny it?
Um, he stood up on the stage at the RNC and waved to all the people as tho' he were part of Palin's family; he might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I don't think you could make the case that he ever denied parentage.

Tripp
What's with all the bizarro names these Alaskan moms give their kids?  Are they sunlight deprived or something?

Perhaps Bristol and Levi are just big fans of Dirty Sexy Money ...

You beat me to it
Perhaps Bristol and Levi are just big fans of Dirty Sexy Money
Too bad the birth didn't happen earlier - it might have saved the show.

>^..^<

[ Parent ]
Tripp isn't that uncommon
Of course, Tripp is usually a nickname (you know, when you're the third in line with the same family name) not the real name

[ Parent ]
I knew a Tripp once
He owned a pawnshop in Santa Monica and would sell guns under the table if you talked to the bailbonds guy after doing the rescue the bounty hunter quest...

Oh wait, that was VTM: Bloodlines...

I hear
they wanted to name the kid Schmuck.  But they decided there were enough of them in the family already.

oh, wait.  no it ain't.

Another option for the kid's name:
"Oxy"

Grannie Palin = Oxymoron
Grannie Johnston = Oxycontin

Congratulations to them all.
Seriously, I hope the Palins are up to the challenge of raising this child to function well in this world.

Hate stops a beating heart.

Well...
it will learn how to gut a moose.  That's a start, I guess.

[ Parent ]
Hey, moose-gutting is a very useful skill...
We have to gut the moose of homophobia, and right wing paranoia, after all!

Who knows, with a little luck, Tripp will grow up to be something of an open-minded kid.  Strange things are done in the land of the midnight sun...

[ Parent ]
Hopefully bthe poor kid
won't learn how to gut a woodland critter like I did- 2 am and holding a flashlight!

Tripped up
Perhaps he's named after Linda Tripp, BFF of Monica Lewinsky.

Both Monica and Bristol got tripped up by their sexual indiscretions.

Be fair Bill
How many people on this board had sex as teens?
Safe bet that it was nearly all of them.

Bristol Palin is not a proxy for Governor Palin.
We need to lay off of her and not hold her to a different standard than we hold ourselves to.

As for the baby; it is simply malicious to include a newborn in criticism. The name? Well, we could say that Alaskans have something about momosyllabic words, I suppose, but that would be generalising.

Bristol, Good luck and congrats. Keep the baby healthy and away from the behaviours and ideas of both grandmothers...

Well said.
Thank you Maura.

By the way, everyone should remember that our words on the subject of a newborn baby will be monitored and horribly taken out of context by certain folks whose pictures appear to the left of this blog page.

Alaskan Names
"Well, we could say that Alaskans have something about momosyllabic words"

**************

Or, just the most fucked-up name they can think of at the moment.

We should have nipped the whole Alaska thing in the bud back in the 90's, when Jewel was boring everyone to death with her "sleeping in K-mart parking lot" stories - we should have known that tons more weirdness was to come from that state! LOL

And it came in the form of the Palin family.

[ Parent ]
Uhhhhh......

Uhhh...

Read into this what you will but, unfortunately, I know for a fact that it wasn't all.

Me either
A virgin until 27 ... which is a f*cking tragedy, but nonetheless, it's the life of this gay boy who grew up on a series of military bases.

(Whether or not I've made up for lost time since then is a matter I'll leave for others to discuss!)

"race, taste. and History finally overcome....and you ain't there"
by Tony Kushner

I had sex at 17
But it never resulted in pregnancy.  Or in Bristol's case - TWO pregnancies.   Of course, it was gay sex.  But it never resulted in disease, either.  Despite the allowances people want to make, most teens are aware that sex has consequences.

I get that she's not a proxy for her mom, but she was trotted out during her mom's offensive and pandering campaign, so she's out there.  Ain't no going back now.

The funny thing is that I think it's perfectly acceptable for a teen parent to NOT marry the father.  In most cases, I think it's probably the best solution.  By being a part of family that claims to toe that family values line (not to mention the ad nauseum coverage about the two WOULD be getting married), I think any arrows slung are justified.

c'mon
What did Bristol Palin ever do to you? Yes, she was "trotted  out." She's 18! It's her family! Of course she was on stage. If she hadn't been we'd all have fussed about how they were hiding her "shameful condition." Lay off her, and her baby. The only appropriate response to this news is to wish her well. And maybe offer up a little prayer, if that's your style, that Tripp will grow up to be a force for good in the world.

[ Parent ]
She's done nothing to me
Her family's party and their claims of "values" have done plenty, though, and she is a shining example of the hypocrisy and failed policies of that party.

Conversely, what did she do FOR you that you are taking it so personally?  You're telling me to lay off, but what have I said that's so incendiary?

[ Parent ]
Grrrrr.
We don't need to be sniffing around Bristol Palin's panties as a proxy for criticizing her mother. Bible Spice may have trotted her daughter out as a campaign stunt to lick the boots of the fetus-humpers, but there's no need for us to dump on Bristol. She didn't ask to be put in the spotlight; her vicious mother did that in an attempt to prove that the youngest baby was really hers and not her grandchild. Bristol and Levi made their choices, and if Bristol is stuck in a less-than-ideal situation, well, she's still one of the luckier teen parents out there - at least her family has resources to help her care for the wee one. So many others do not.

Let's not forget it took TWO people to make this munchkin. Why is this somehow all Bristol's fault? I don't see a lot of criticism of Levi here. If that boy didn't want a baby, he should have used a condom, or kept his pants zipped. Got it?

I wish both parents and especially little Tripp all the best. Here's hoping they are surrounded by love, as every family should be.

God save ornery old queens! - kevinchi

I think most people would agree he was equally responsible
I still stand by what I said.  Yes, Levi should have used a condom or kept it zipped, but Bristol should have also been more careful as well, especially since she got pregnant before.

Levi's mother (hee hee) hasn't been on tv espousing values that she thinks everyone should hold that can't even be enforced in her own home.  Bristol's has.

And I DO think it's great that her family has the resources to help her (as they helped her with Trig).  She may not have asked for the spotlight, but if we're going to consider her woman enough to make her own decisions (hee hee), then we can assume she could have put her foot down instead of being trotted out publicly at every turn.

The whole House of Palin (and by extension, the Republicans, as they were never more happy about an illegitimate child in my lifetime as they were about this one) bears responsibility here.

[ Parent ]
Be careful, the right wing logical conclusion of your argument
is that all gay men with HIV deserve it for being stupid

We cannot claim a moral highground on issues where we simply do not possess it.

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

[ Parent ]
I didn't say anyone deserves anything
But, personal responsibility being what it is, we all make our own choices.   While I wouldn't use the word "stupid" to describe someone who contracts HIV, in this day and age it requires at least a titch of recklessness for most new cases, does it not?  No real judgment here, as I think we all make mistakes and we all have our own risk assessment meter, but most everyone knows what the tools are for avoiding pregnancy and disease.  Maybe the people themselves aren't stupid, but poor choices are.  I've had guys tell me they look at barebacking as a thumb of the nose to heteronormative values, and I guess that's great for them, but it's still reckless behavior with serious consequences.

Let the record state that I was not the one who raised this to comparing it to contracting HIV, so please don't flame me.

PS, I would guess your logical right wing argument is that ALL people with HIV deserve it, because straight folks can get it, too, ya know.

[ Parent ]
Seriously for a minute
I'm very glad mom and baby are well and hope the future holds good things for all 3 of them.

That said, I still think that Sarah is a raging, incoherant and dangerous lunatic, and her political party full of hypocritical assholes who would line up those who oppose their views against a wall for elimination- all the better to finally have the perfect theocracy they have so desperately sought for years.

Trig and Tripp
  These names, these names....
Trig and Tripp are only a few months apart in age. Gonna be hard for them to know who is who when their mothers are calling them in from play.

They sure like getting cutesy when the names. Both boys already have a lot to live with.
Unwed mother coming from such a conservative background. And little Trig being mentally challenged. I"m glad the kids are healthy. The whole family is good looking.

But still...I'm SO OVER THEM ALREADY!!!

Don't forget about
Track........the other kid is named Track.

[ Parent ]
It's worse than you think.
They're less than a year apart, they have the exact same mother, and they're both presumably going to be lied to about that even though the entire world knows the truth.  At the very least, both will be made to go along with this idiotically obvious lie because the Palins can't admit the truth now.

So, yeah, they'll be confused alright -- especially morally confused being raised by those hypocritical, lying, right-wing morons.

[ Parent ]
Trig has a life ahead
There is no telling just how well he will do

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

[ Parent ]
Especially if he goes into the illegal drug trade.
With either that or being a power-crazy, lying, would-be dictator/theocrat, he's already got a leg up.

[ Parent ]
She had the baby
now can we please, PLEASE, stop trying to claim that she's Trig's mother? The math does not add up.

NOM ~ "Mine is an honorable task and I shall drown out anyone who claims otherwise!"

You need to re-learn math.
Either Bristol just gave birth to the largest "premature" baby in the history of the world, or she delivered right on schedule a baby that was conceived within weeks of the birth of her first child.

And please review the specifics of Sarah Sociopath's flimsy and moronic lie about Trig's birth, none of which -- not one single detail -- could have happened the way she claims it did.

But tell you what -- let Sarah release her medical records -- which this healthy, even athletic, woman refused to do when she was running for VP -- and then you can tell us the rest of us are wrong.

[ Parent ]
Ever have ovaries?
The odds of ovulating, let alone conceiing in the first few weeks post partum are nearly non-existent

And what's it to a man what a woman does with her uterus?
Lay off, you are staring to sound more than a bit misogynistic

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

[ Parent ]
Ever have heterosexual intercourse in the weeks following giving birth?
Me neither, but I do have Google.

"What Are The Chances of Getting Pregnant Soon After Giving Birth?

The short answer is that you can become pregnant again in as little as two to three weeks after giving birth, even if you have not yet had a period."

Wild child Bristol Palin couldn't possibly have had sex within weeks of giving birth, could she have?  With the same loser father?  Not someone as smart and morally upright as her!

Not only did she obviously give birth to Trig, but Sarah obviously could not have.  Sorry, but my membership in the reality-based community requires I draw the obvious conclusion.

And about laying off?  After you.  And your name-calling is immature, by the way.

(And, also, I'm a man?  You must be psychic as well as caustic.)

[ Parent ]
I have two cousins born nearly exactly 9 months apart
So someone must be able to concieve right after giving birth.

"race, taste. and History finally overcome....and you ain't there"
by Tony Kushner

[ Parent ]
"And what's it to a man what a woman does with her uterus? "
That's just a red herring argument.  That's like saying what do straight people have to do with gay rights?  Sure, it's a nice soundbite, but it ain't the way the world works.  I would LOVE for straighties to stop talking about my lifestyle as much as I'm sure a lot of women would love men to stop discussing their reproductive rights.  But it's Never. Going. To. Happen.

No one cares what Sarah Palin or her daughter did or do with their uteruses.  It's that their personal lives don't come close to the supposed values being espoused.  And that's all fine and well, except when those people who can't toe their own line think they have the right to legislate how other people live.

[ Parent ]
Trap
Under the circumstances Trap may be more appropriate....
