I don't know if he took it down or changed it

But his goal for the YEAR for online donations was $5,000.  That's a pretty anemic goal, if you ask me, especially if he relies solely on donations to fund this comedy.

My suspicion is that he's pretty much lost his credibility with the other wingnuts because he's too over the top.  "Unhinged" is another term that comes to mind.  I don't know (but would just love to know) who funds this nutcase.

I assume that if donations are tax-deductible, AFTAH is a 501(C)3 organization.  I don't know what the rules for disclosure of donors are.

Does anyone know?

I don't think

you have to disclose donors. I'm on the board for a 501(c)3 and I've reviewed the paperwork, although I wasn't the one who prepared it. There was a list of funding sources (charity auctions, donations, etc.), but no itemized list of donors.

But word just came out here in Ft Lauderdale, that the Phelps nutcases are going to picket a tiny 50 seat non-equity theater called The Rising Star, because they are performing Paul Rudnicks play, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told. The theater owner is thrilled. Most publicity he's ever gonna get. The reviews have quite good....and they reached all the way out to where-ever in Butt-fuck these cretins live. It's on for Jan 16th I believe. I may go just to get a look at pure evil in person.

   I think it's high time, Mr. LaBarbera, if you're reading this to consider that what you think you know and how to approach it, has LONG been wrong and with so little results that are positive to show for it, you should consider carefully WHY the psychiatric and psychological pros (among others) understand but you refuse to be educated about.

     Young people are at risk from unprotected sex and promiscuity. ALL or ANY young person is. That goes for hetero kids too. Even worse, because a pregnancy can enter the mix and the infant can be born infected.

See?
Homosexuality and heterosexuality are orientations. Young people that suffer rejection, family disconnect and lack of support in safe romantic pursuits are at risk, regardless of their orientation.

   Usually girls go through this sort of fear and pressure in potential sexual encounters and gay children are left completely isolated and rudderless. It is THEY who are most at risk.

Why?
Because females and gay people in general have less value in our society. So therefore suffer the risk factors that correlate with rejection, isolation and devaluation.

  You won't deal with the facts of EQUAL risk factors.
Homosexuality is not a LIFESTYLE.
It's an attribute.
And the myth that it's changeable or requires intense religious discipline has RUINED many lives, not saved them.

YOU don't have to pay the cost, and never have to.
So it's not UP TO YOU.
Heterosexuality won't save a young person from any kind of infection.
It's their ACTIVITY.
Homosexuality doesn't kill, or put a young person at any risk greater than any other who is ignorant about safe sex, or healthy relationships.

  And saying anything OTHER than what I did, makes YOU solidly irreponsible and grossly OUT OF YOUR DEPTH.

   And the same goes for you chasing after gay fetishists as IF heteros don't have the same fetishes.

 Get real.
 Get a clue.

 You can't lie and think no one will BUST YOU for it.

Your crusading is so hollow and worthless.

 I live in Los Angeles, CA  I just saw multi millions spent to 'save marriage'.

 Well, here's what REALLY happened.

  The divorce and spousal abandonment rate of nearly 50% is still steady.
Child custody battles still rage. I rarely see your type of crusader picketing FAMILY courthouses on the evils of divorce.
 But you sure supported that THOUSANDS of gay couples get divorced involuntarily. Let alone get married.
Which is in part protection from people like YOU.
Hetero divorces really should be a part of your crusade and advocacy for couples. Or especially STRAIGHT MEN.
Because

 Just last week, a man going through a divorce in LA county, dressed up like Santa Claus, went to the home of his ex wife and her family as they had a Xmas Eve party and slaughtered her and almost her entire family, then killed himself.

  He shot an 8 year old girl in the face as she was the one who answered the door (miraculously, she survived, but imagine HER trauma). The youngest other victim who died, was the little girl's 17yr old cousin. He was burned to death in the fire the killer started with race car fuel.

 Divorce and adultery are dangerous lifestyles. They lead to suicide, murder...entire families can be slaughtered.
  I don't recall any divorcing gay people pulling such things off, or even wanting to. Despite what so many of them's own families put them through.

In spite of the anger gay folks felt at THEIR marriages being dissolved, NONE of them acted out against who divorced THEM in such a manner.

    Nope, all that money spent on 'saving' marriage and NOTHING got saved!
All that political action and we're still seeing children lacking child support and requiring welfare.

 Tut, tut....Mr. LaBarbera. You want to go to Washington?
What for?
 To demonstrate that gay people have leather fetishes?
Big WHOO!

   They didn't have enough shelters to cover all the women with small children this winter in my city.
 And people like you want to point fingers at gay people's 'lifestyle'.
How come you're not showing the gay people I know?
The ones who attend church and temple and drive their beautiful children to school? The one's who are artists and teachers and travel industry pros?
How come you're not showing the doctors...or in my case all the GAY COPS that serve our country's cities?

 Or our blog mistress here and her wife. They look like anyone's cozy, sweetfaced and warm hearted sisters. They have cute dogs and a dual income household. What manner of 'homosexual militant' are you talking about?
Who has the time and energy to BE militant when there are bills to pay? Gay people aren't recession proof you know.

 And what manner of militancy aren't YOU committing right this minute?
YOU support taking away the ability and right for gay folks to determine THEIR lives. That has nothing to do with YOU.

And those gay parents who REALLY want to marry to secure THEIR children as any parent SHOULD.
What are THEIR children to do? Run away from home?
Live with YOU?

I bet if there was a roomful of children in any classroom in America, you couldn't tell which ones had gay parents and who didn't.
I'd LOVE to see you TRY.

  Your mission is really something to ridicule given all those factors. That's not being hateful. That IS straight up ridicule.

 And apparently you feel REAL put upon by all those homosexual militant bullies.
Rich and powerful?

    What gay person do you know has several individual universities founded or named after them and multimillion dollar MEGACHURCHES, REPROGRAMMING camps that utilize Christianity as part of the discipline against heterosexual teenagers? Who demands that the Constitution can't include BEHAVIOR based protections, but you'll take them for yourself. In spite of ALL the religious abuse that has been committed in this country, that gay people never had the power to do? What representative government is 99.5% gay in our country?

 How about all the bragging that marriage equality has been voted down so 'overwhelmingly' in over 30 states with more to come? How does all that translate into a 'powerful homosexual' militant influence? YOu know in your heart that public opinion is in YOUR favor. Fear and ignorance are powerful tools you utilize to full effect, then have the crust to deny you have any power of your own.

  Your complaints, all things considered ARE laughable.
  And quite UNMANNERED.
For someone with such disdain for leather fetishists? Why do you keep showing up where they are, UNINVITED?

 If you REALLY want to do IMPORTANT work where it matters.
Confront these cancerous GANG MEMBERS that have made so many streets in our country unsafe for ANYONE to live in.
THAT is a dangerous lifestyle.
