Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

HRC Does Democratic Party Dirty Work Attacking Coulter's CPAC Appearance

by: lloydletta

(Now I'm pulling up some facts and figures on Don't Ask Don't Tell. I think tomorrow's show will be pretty Iraq War heavy, with Walter Reed and the Broken National Guard -- DADT will make a nice segue to the Coultergeist... - promoted by RadicalRuss)

Group Calls on Presidential Candidates and VP Cheney to Disavow Coulter

Why aren't Democratic Presidential Candidates asked what they think of Coulter's statement?  Will any serious Democrat put out a press release, or are they having HRC do this as a surrogate?

As I posted earlier, it was clear that many conservative bloggers didn't like what Coulter had to say.  Captain Ed has one of the AList conservative blogs in the State of Minnesota, and he stated he wasn't happy with Coulter's statements, and suggested that CPAC avoid inviting her next year.  I would doubt that the Human Rights Campaign would even bother having a table at this conference, to try to talk to people who might agree on some issues.  That would involve breaking their submissive relationship to the Democratic party.

Gay Civil Rights Group Condemns Ann Coulters Remarks as "Vile" and "Disgusting"
Demands '08 Republican Candidates, V.P. Publicly Condemn Remarks at Conference They Attended

WASHINGTON - Today, at the Conservative Political Action Conference sponsored by the American Conservative Union, right-wing pundit Ann Coulter spoke saying, "I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot,' so I - so kind of an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards." The Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay civil rights organization, strongly condemned Coulter's remarks and called on those Republican leaders in attendance to follow suit.

"To interject this word into American political discourse is a vile and disgusting way to sink the debate to a new, all-time low," said Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese. "Make no doubt about it, these remarks go directly against what our Founding Fathers intended and have no place on the schoolyard, much less our country's political arena."

"It is clear that some in the Republican Party plan to run in 2008 the same way they did in 2004, by using discrimination to divide the country and rally their base," said Solmonese. "But, 2008 is not 2004, and this time the politics of fear and smear will not work. The American people are tired of those who would rather divide than unite."

The Conservative Political Action Conference was attended by 2008 Republican Presidential candidates: Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO), Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) and former Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA). Vice President Dick Cheney also attended the event.

Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney spoke before Coulter saying, "I am happy to hear that after you hear from me, you will hear from Ann Coulter. That is a good thing."

"We demand that every single Presidential candidate in attendance at this conference, along with Vice President Cheney stand up and publicly condemn this type of gutter-style politics," continued Solmonese. "If not, then their silence will be deafening to the vast majority of Americans who believe this type of language belongs no where near the discussions about the future of our country."

The Human Rights Campaign is America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against GLBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.

It's clear that what HRC is trying to do is paint all conservatives with the broad brush of bigotry.  That's not the case.  The Michele Bachmann's of the world claim to be conservative.  They are theocrats, not conservatives.

As expected, John Aravosis at Americablog is flogging this story.

It's also ironic that lefty talk radio constantly refers to Ann Coulter as a trannie.  It's not meant to be a compliment.

Edwards campaign responds...
...with a plea for cash.  That's right, no press release, no "we stand by our beloved faggots 'n dykes and pull for their rights", no calling her bluff with a "what's wrong with being gay?" speach.  nope.  just this.

And the Dems?  So far, Dean's wimpy "lets all talk nice" press release has not even been posted on the Dem website of press releases.  You hvae to go to the dems blog to find it.  Gee, can we cower and lower?

Edwards campaign: First use the Coulter comment to raise $
Tacky and misses the point -- the point Lurleen made.  I hate seeing them "use" the comment.  It's like trying to profit off of act of aggression.  A thoughtless reflex.  Their response should instead have been to start with principles.  A pitch for $ -- if any -- should only come later.

On the other hand, maybe, in their minds, the principles don't have to be stated explicitly, that Ann Coulter's comment speaks for itself.  But I have some fear that they avoided stating any principles as a deliberate, cynical political calculation.

cynical
avoided stating any principles as a deliberate, cynical political calculation.

Oh yes, it was. Sadly, as we saw, Dean's and HRC's were equally non-specific about the homophobia See my post.

Not so bad
It helped Edwards exceed his $100,000 in Coulter Cash!

Lloydletta:  I'm sorry! I wasn't aware of any so-called gay friendly bloggers working this forum for Republican apoligists and other related Republican activists. Your critisism of HRC is unfounded. HRC calls them like they see them! If HRC supports Democrats than so be it! The Republican party is certainly not interested in supporting the community, and your efforts to help them on this blog to rehabilitate and defend them are woofully inaccurate my friend.
