Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Suze Orman's Valentine's Day message on marriage equality, hate amendments and the bottom line

by: Pam Spaulding

Sun Feb 15, 2009 at 15:30:00 PM EST

Even Bill O'Reilly admits the opponents of gay marriage don't have any other card to play except the bible-beating one, and it's irrelevant to civil law. Believe it or not the Faux News bully even shredded one of the talking heads who tried and failed repeatedly to come up with a reason not based on religion, to deny gay and lesbian couples federal, state and local rights that heterosexual couples enjoy.

They have no argument and they know it. Suze Orman also laid out an airtight case on this front yesterday. It's not about morality or freedom of religion -- it's the bottom line -- we pay taxes and there is no reason why we should be denied these rights and resulting benefits.

"We are taking away a birthright, if you ask me, for people to get the most out of the money that they have spent their lives working for. These people are making money, they pay taxes on the money, every single one of us deserves to have the same financial benefits, whether we are gay or whether we are straight. And therefore, we have got to do everything we can to turn that around.

Every single one of us deserves to be loved. Every single one of us deserves to love. And every single one of us deserves to make the most out of the money that we have. And that is my Valentine's Day wish for every single one of us."

No exactly my argument for equality but....
To me her statement is a very "republican" decreed for equality....you know, all about the money....keeping our tax dollars.  Fine with me...just another angle for which the Antis really don't have a comeback.

"Republican" or not...
I like what she says.

Hate stops a beating heart.

she's a businesswoman
but money really is the bottom line. and taxation without equality under the law is not good.

Zactly!
Tea has been dumped overboard for such reasons...

Suze reaches a broad audience
She also gave a different slant to securing those Rights.
Thanks Suze, you did a courageous act, that you didn't have to do.

"race, taste. and History finally overcome....and you ain't there"
by Tony Kushner

Isn't she also one of "these people"?
I thought I'd read that before.

Suzie is fabulous
I got concerned a while ago that she would probably try to boost the economy by telling people to buy stock while it was at the bottom.  But this hasn't happened.  She knows the financial trouble we as a nation are faced with and has empathy for those who have lost everything.  As an out lesbian, she just wants our civil rights as afforded to other citizens.

Same-Sex Marriage is good for the economy.

Suze protesting tax ?
For not getting the same benefits as hets ?  Maybe, in due course.  Looks like the movement for civil rights is heading that way.  We have run out of "polite" non-profit corporate and legislative ways.

Same-Sex Marriage is good for the economy.

Wish for every Single one of us.
Love the PUN!

It's the Hammer of JUSTICE,
It's the Bell of FREEDOM,
It's the Song about LOVE between,

...All over this Land.

Clever
Suze is very cleverly appealing to the non-fundie Republican who holds no value higher than not being taxed and who considers him/herself a little less bigoted than the average Christian.

She is saying that if you go with the fundies on this one, then you are betraying your own sacred principle of minimizing taxation and, by extension, government.

So now these Republicans will either have to squirm at rationalizing away the betrayal of their own paramount principle (something that, admittedly, won't cause much discomfort for many of the bastards), or they will have to concede that, despite the personal "ewwww" factor, they just might as well let the damn faggots get married if that's what they f--king want.

If Donald Trump were queer...
I am thrilled Suze is speaking up - the tone of her voice really resonated with me....heartfelt.

But if Donald Trump were queer, would we have "won" (snark) Civil Marriage by now?

I would LOVE-LOVE-LOVE some of the RICH GAYS to cause a ruckus.   There is NO REASON why such prominent gay-2-parent-with-4-children-households [Rosie, Melissa] are NOT included in family law in the exact same terms as other "heterosexually-identified" led families.

Let's face it, some of those 'sacred unions' have some "heterosexually-identified" daddies in them....I've dated a few of them in my younger years.

The IRS will attach everything
As they have my assets.  I have a two year old car left.  You have to give up material things, put your life in chaos and really stand for the cause and willing to face prison as did Bayard Rustin and others for civil rights.  Not many are willing to do that for gay civil rights, rich or poor.  It's no picnic or "Palm Springs White Party", that's for sure.

Same-Sex Marriage is good for the economy.

Support?
Charles, has there been A-N-Y support you've received from ANY gay or non-gay organizations?   Not just financial, but a word of support, or a planned reaction IF you are imprisoned (unjustly).

Will the Queer "Community" (!?!) sit idly by as other gays get imprisoned, with support being 100% dependent on whom is liked or which tactic is approved?   Will anyone else join me in defacing local federal buildings in red paint with "FREE CHARLES MERRILL!"?   Not that I would do that, but.....
Or _________?   Or ___?

Because DIGNITY tells me to NOT comply with institutionalized legal hatred of my family.   Please know this is not an accusation of a lack of dignity to all who pay taxes....it's just I-me-myself-moi cannot bring myself to comply with a government that ignores and excludes my beloved family.   I can't.  And it's enough to make me want to bear arms and be all "give me liberty or give me death", because that is the reality of my experiences thus far with inequality AND its debilitating, demoralizing, and inhuman repercussions.

Charles, I would sincerely hate to see your own protest end up being a brief headline and then forgotten.   I'd hate to see the absence of an all-out REVOLT against a government that denies us our BIRTHRIGHT.
