Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

CA: Orange County bigot eruption - Los Alamitos mayor sends out racist email

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Feb 25, 2009 at 12:30:00 PM EST

Should we send this to Maureen Dowd, who thinks she lives in a post-racial America? Look at the knee-slapping humor of Los Alamitos Mayor Dean Grose. He thought it was A-OK to send out this doctored photo of watermelons on the White House lawn in honor of Barack Obama occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. And check this out:
Grose's email included the heading, "No Easter Egg hunt this year."

"I think he's saying that since there's a black president, there will be no need to hunt for eggs since they're growing watermelons in the front yard this year," said Keyanus Price, an African American who was among those receiving the email. Price told Fletcher that she considers the email rascist and offensive.

"What I'm concerned about is how can this person send an e-mail out like this and think it is OK?" Price said. "He's putting the city into a bad place and he is a liability."

Grose apologized to Price, city council members and others.

"It was just poor judgment on my part and I am deeply sorry," he said.

UPDATE: Oh lord, it's gets even worse in the follow up article. Price responded to his email:
"Hey, that's not nice at all. Not all black people like watermelon... you should know better than that."

Grose replied: "The way things are today, you gotta laugh every now and then. I wanna see the coloring contests."

Price said Grose's response upset her more. "As soon as I saw his response; that put me over the top because it was no big deal to him," she said.

...The e-mail was sent to at least one other person, but the mayor said he isn't sure how many people received it. He said there is a "small group" of people he sometimes forward e-mails to.

In his apology to Price via e-mail, Grose wrote that he was not representing himself as a public official.

Sorry he
got caught, is more like it.

But be fair, Pam!
The original photo had jars of mayonnaise and loaves of white bread! So that means it was ALREADY a racist photo!!

/more fucking super-snark, even than usual for me.

GAH.

Gah.
I think Ana Marie Cox has started a trend.  Luckily, I don't think that "Gah" is trademarked in any way.

Obama Should Reconsider
closing guantanamo.

This is 2009, allegedly a NEW America in the works, and we have no time for people trying to turn the clock back to the 1950's.

The Beaver Cleaver era is dead.  Deal with it.

And the comment section
is digusting but this one comment here I will address:

"Who cares? People are way to sensitive. Should Italians be upset because they are associated with spaghetti, or mexicans associated with burritos, or portuguese sardines, french crepes, indian curry, whatever Ms. Price get over it. If I had a dollar for every time I heard a black person speak badly of another race I would be rich."

Excuse me. Italian-Americans do protest against the automatic association of their ethnicity with the mafia, Geraldine Ferraro was hit with those slurs when she was the vice-presidential nomimnee. That's what those protests against the Sorpranos were about. There have been a lot of protests by Mexican Americans against stereotypes in cartoons and in popular culture. And how many times have have I heard or seen slurs against the Irish involving alcohol.

The watermelon can be specifically found in racist propoganda every bit as much as the that ape in the Sean Delonas cartoon. And evn that last sentence in her post, yeah, we could talk about that but not as a justification for this bigotry.

Not poor judgement
it' straight up racist, and everyone knows it's racist, it's not sorta wrong and inappropriate it's f*cking HATEFUL.
the idea Black children are going to see this cr*p from a government official, just makes me furious.

Trying to prove something?

The looter rich much prefer working with Democrats like Obama and the Clintons - they're greedier, they fool more people and they're able to get away with a lot more than Republicans.

holy cr@p
other than that, I'm speechless.

Sick, plain sick
President Obama and First Lady Michelle have CLASS. Somethng folks that spread this kind of garbage around.  Bobby Jindal and all the rest of his republican buddies wlll know how rejected by most this kind of garbage is.

They all forget the internet exists and come re-election time, someone will bringthis junk up, and,,,,,GODD BYE.

That is the only reason Rupert Murdock has offered up his big apology a little to late.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

Run him
out of office. Ridiculous.

you would think
that after the "magic negro" and the "chimp cartoon" everyone would finally get it, wouldn't you.

It's great to see the vast majority, regardless of race, are calling these idiots out on this crap.

Now if we could get the same type of overwhelming reaction when these types of "jokes" appear using gay stereotypes.

I'm not holding my breath

RESIGN, RESIGN, RESIGN!!!
There is NO TOLERANCE for this kind of crap from our elected officials.

The only responsible thing that the mayor can do is apologize sincerely, step down from his office and resign.

There must be consequences for this sort of thing.  It might be OK coming from the Grand Dragon of the KKK, but it isn't OK coming from any elected official at any level of government.

Racism is wrong.  There can be no tolerance for it.

And this was from an actual mayor of an actual city???
Seriously -- racist Republican images (from a party led by a black man and whose greatest hope is a brown man!) just never stop coming.  It doesn't matter how many people pay the price again and again for doing this, their stupidity is apparently just that overwhelming!

How many Democrats have circulated how many racist images insulting Michael Steele or Piyush "Bobby" Jindal?  The answer seems to be "none".

These people are absolutely disgusting.

Go on, Mr. Mayor - tell us what you REALLY think
Actually, it's better for the festering boil of racism to be right out in the open where we can see it, and squeeze it till the smelly green pus spews out and we can wipe it away, one drop at a time. Better that than a silent cancer slowly killing society from the inside, invisibly.

Sorry for a really gross image...

update to the watermelon email
Just added to the entry:

Oh lord, it's gets even worse in the update.

I kinda
like the way Ms. Price attempted to use some humor to defuse the situation. If the bozo is too stoo-pid not to see that for what it was...well, sheesh, I don't think I would want him drawing up my city's budget...

It is the nature of right-wing creeps like this guy
to keep pushing the envelope father and farther until they are finally slapped down once and for all.   Unfortunately, that doesn't happen very often.  Imus got his clock fixed.  Limbaugh, Savage and the rest are still cheerfully doing the Lord's work.

I've said it before ad I'll say it again: this is only going to get worse.  If you think this crud and the Delonas cartoon are horrible, just wait a year or two.  By the time the right-wingers get done, this stuff will look polite and parliamentary.

Cynic, n.  A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be.

It is going to get worse...
It started with the Clintons in the primaries. Then Palin and McCain grabbed it and ran with it. It'll keep surfacing because US culture is mired in rightwing sewage like racism, homophobia and misogyny.

I'd never vote for a right wing centrist like Obama but we have to keep in mind that there are two sides to this coin. We'll see more of these sick redneck jokes. On the other hand look on the bright side. Obama's tenure in the (no longer quite so) White House will cause more than one redneck to have cardiac or cerebrovascular accidents. That can't be bad.

This is what it looks like
when the bigots' heads explode. They're bigots, in a country with a black man as President, and a bunch of commie, pinko liberals in control of Congress. This guy lives in a state where fags were getting married, not that long ago. And [gasp] they might be doing it again, after the summer. They really can't help themselves. They're on total overload, all the needles are in the red, and they're coming apart at the seams.

Unless - and I'm counting this as increasingly unlikely - they do something truly, radically, illegally over the top to stop it, they're on the way out. Good riddance. But there's still that little voice in the back of my head that says a cornered animal is totally unpredictable. They're feeling very cornered, and they're not much smarter than your average weasel.

Cause any fool knows, a dog needs a home; a shelter from pigs on the wing

From a mayor of an insignificant OC suburb...
What's next?  Dean Crose thinking that Westminster should be napalmed?  What a bigot.

Save every republican incident
because we will want to play them back as midterms approach

I tell you Chica that no greater abomination exists than women denying their spirit of sisterhood and instead becoming the oppressor. -Rebeca, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

It's only going to get worse...
Since Obama is elected into office, it gave the people the impression that racism is no longer an issue in America, fooling racist biggots to believe that they can let their guard down.
