The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend: "a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."
He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior."
(CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)
Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).
"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008
Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:
A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist." (Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)
"A nutty lesbian blogger." (MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)
Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

It's an open thread! Pleeeeease feel free to chat, blogwhore, and link-share in the comment thread...
Well, it's shopping day today...buying the last accoutrements for my relatively new laptop, and doing some grocery shopping. On the computer front, buying a new computer bag, a portable printer, some small travel speakers, a spare lithium battery, and some spare cordage. On the grocery shopping front, I'm going to buy ingredients for a tofu chili recipe, as well a meatless loaf recipe -- both recipes from Taste & See: American Orthodox Cooking (a collection of recipes by St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church) that my Mom bought for me a few years back.
So, this is what my cartoon sockpuppet Bookworm Bob have been looking at since our last This & That post this past Thursday. I meant to get a This & That post this weekend...enh. Sometimes we get busy.
A San Antonio Police officer was arrested and is accused of sexually assaulting a transgender man.
The man claims officer Craig Nash picked him just south of Downtown early Thursday morning, handcuffed him, and told him to lay down in the back seat of a patrol car. He told investigators Nash then drove to a nearby location, un-handcuffed him, and sexually assaulted him.
The alleged victim said after the assault, Nash dropped him off at a nearby school. He then took a bus to a police station to report the assault. According to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by News 4 WOAI, the alleged victim told officers Nash "wasn't going to get away with this"
Police arrested Nash after the alleged victim identified him in a photo line-up, and police linked his patrol car to the alleged scene using a GPS tracking system...
There is a video attached to this story that one can watch at the webpage for this story.
That said, this is gender and pronoun misidentification of a trans victim by a local TV station...again. It seems to never stop.
See the article below for a discussion about misidentification related to this story...
A trans woman who was sexually assaulted on February 25 by San Antonio police officer Craig Nash was incorrectly identified as a "transgender man" by several media outlets.
The Transgender Foundation of America (TFA) of Houston reports that TFA director Cristan Williams contacted the San Antonio Police Department and discovered that the victim was, in fact, a trans woman.
TFA has a report on this at the link above, as well as contact information for several news outlets for those who want to call or e-mail to express concern about the misidentification of the victim and to remind these outlets about both the Associated Press (AP) and the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) guidelines on reporting stories involving trans people.
Both AP and GLAAD media guidelines recommend the use of the name, pronouns, and gender references that reflect the correct gender identity of any trans person referred to in a news story...
The bottom line though is we're talking about an alleged rape by an on-duty police officer. One would think, from some of the comments of the first story, that this was about trans people being evil. A sampling these kind of comments:
I wish to publicly rebuke the author of this article for her portrayal of a cross dressing, transvestite homosexual pervert as "transgender". Presumably from your politically correct speech on this matter you find such behavior acceptable and worthy of being spoken of as if there is some sort of normality involved; as if it is not perverted and twisted and vulgar. Shame on you and your house! I think all these people should be put into jails and re-education camps. They are all sick and they need a good dose of plain old fashioned religion administered with a switch; a thin one from an ash tree. It is important for Christian virtue and normal behavior to be held up to the public as admirable, while wicked deviltry ought be exposed for what it is. Reject the work of the liberals who seek to destroy America and exhalt homosexuality and all sorts of perversions. Rather, seek Jesus, the Son of God. Praise God... jesus-is-lord.com
Any guy dressed up like a girl wants to get rammed in the butt. He got what he wanted.
I will wait until the investigation is complete. These homosexuals make up this kind of crime all the time.
By the way, this isn't the first San Antonio police officer who has been accused of this kind of sexual assault...this kind of rape. Does anyone remember Dean Gutierrez, who was sentenced to 24-years in federal prison for sexually assaulting a trans woman?
Reporting from Stanislaus County, Calif. - Central California is home to nearly 1.6 million dairy cows and their manure -- up to 192 million pounds per day. It's a mountain of waste and a potential environmental hazard.
But for dairyman John Fiscalini, the dung on his farm is renewable gold: He's converting it into electricity.
At his farm outside Modesto, a torrent of water washes across the barn's concrete floor several times a day, flushing tons of manure away from his herd of fuzzy-faced Holsteins and into nearby tanks. There, bacteria consume the waste and release methane, which is then burned in a generator capable of producing enough power to run Fiscalini's 530-acre farm, his cheese factory and 200 additional homes.
Fiscalini's resourcefulness should be drawing accolades, considering that state mandates are requiring California industries to boost renewable energy use and slash greenhouse gas emissions sharply over the next 10 years.
But efforts to convert cow pies into power have sparked controversy. State air quality control regulators say these "dairy digester" systems can generate pollution themselves and, unless the devices are overhauled, are refusing to issue permits for them...
Protect Marriage Washington filed its opening brief today in the United States Supreme Court case of Doe #1 v. Reed. Protect Marriage Washington sponsored a referendum in Washington and is asking the Supreme Court to prevent the state from releasing the names, addresses, and other personal information of more than 138,000 individuals that signed the petition.
The effort to place the names of the petition signers on the internet is the latest example of the campaign to harass and intimidate anyone supporting traditional marriage by making personal information available on the internet. Their efforts have resulted in death threats, physical violence, and property damage directed at individuals supporting a traditional definition of marriage.
James Bopp, Jr., lead counsel for Protect Marriage Washington, stated that "Public disclosure laws have been used to harass and intimidate voters. The First Amendment protects citizens engaged in political speech from being forced to reveal their identity to ensure that intimidation does not makes its way into the campaign toolbox. No one should have to endure death threats in order to stand up for what they believe in."
On September 10, 2009, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington issued an order preventing the release of the names of the petition signers. On October 15, 2009, the Ninth Circuit issued a single page order allowing the release of the names. On October 20, 2009, the Supreme Court issued an emergency order preventing the release of the names until the appeal is decided.
The case is Doe #1 v. Reed. It will be argued before the United States Supreme Court on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Protect Marriage Washington's opening brief, along with the prior orders in the case, are available on the website of the James Madison Center for Free Speech, http://www.jamesmadisoncenter.org/WA/Ref71/Index.html under the "Washington Referendum 71 Petition Suit" heading.
James Bopp, Jr. has a national federal and state election law practice. He is General Counsel for the James Madison Center for Free Speech and former Co-Chairman of the Election Law Subcommittee of the Federalist Society.
Egads! Nebulous death threats by evil homosexuals!! Of course!!
Let's go to my home state of California to see where one can go as a "Christian Conservative" congressional candidate with these nebulous death threats from "homosexual society"...
It seems as though it doesn't take much to anger this gentle soul anymore. With the homosexual society always in our faces trying to push their agenda on us and claiming it is the opposite, I've had it. There is no reason to speak with them because they are unreasable (I know not most of them!).
I do not bother anyone for what or who they are. I never have. When you cross the line and tell me that I have to accept your behavior or else, that's where we cannot go. This is America. Matrimony has been the rule for millennia, and you are not going to change it now...
...That is, however, not the reason I bring this to your attention. They are at it again (still) in Washington, just as they are here in California. Please read below to see how 'nice' some of these homosexuals truly are.
...It is indefensible to me that someone would send a death threat for ALLOWING YOU TO LIVE YOUR LIFE, yet that's not good enough for you. I know for a fact that isn't everyone. I am angry over this. Take that whichever way you want. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Then again, you have forgotten what shame is a long time ago, eh? Yeah, I said it, I meant it, and I'm here to represent it. Now what?
Some people you just shouldn't ever make angry. Especially sweet little ladies. It isn't nice. Have a day.
Her self-description says a lot:
I am a Christian Conservative who loves our country dearly. We deserve to be represented responsibly. I believe I can do a much better job listening to us, and that is why I would be honored to represent us.
Yes, Christian Dominionism. Super-swell.
That candidate deserves the second "Egads!" of this diary ...So, Egads!
So anywho...It's an open thread! What are you thinking about today, or what books or articles have you been reading the past few days? Wanna share?
And again, please feel free to chat, blogwhore, and link-share in the comment thread because...it's an open thread! Woo-hoo!
The court's ruling today is a loss for democracy, a loss for Montgomery County, and a loss for common sense. The average citizen wants to protect a woman's right to privacy and safety. To that end, voters would have defeated this bill. The MCRG is considering a legal challenge to ensure that voters have the chance to be heard on this issue.
--Ruth Jacobs, M.D., president of the Maryland Citizens For Responsible Government
Yes, the world ended. No doubt the world ended in a horrible mess o' violence against the white women and children because we gosh darn predatory, public bathroom using trans people ushered Satan's rule here on earth.
"We're very disappointed with this court's ruling, which suggests that, in America, every citizen does not have a voice. Today's court decision sends a clear message that groups with narrow, extreme political agendas can disenfranchise the voters of an entire county. We will work closely with MCRG toward the goal of putting this issue back into the hands of the voters."
--Amy Smith, Alliance Defense Fund attorney (the Focus On The Family bankrolled legal alliance that represented the interests of the Maryland Citizens For Responsible Government)
Theresa Rickman sent out a letter to mobilize her troops this weekend. She and the Maryland Citizens For Responsible Government warning their troops about the possibility of their free speech being restricted in the email, linked to in the long jpeg on the right side of this piece:
Be careful what you say!
Washington DC's gender identity law punishes users of the "wrong pronoun" with a fine - if you refer to man in women's clothing as a he, DC's Human Rights Commission can levy a substantial fine. Montgomery County's gender identity law goes further.
Ugh.. Is this a real argument, or is this a ludicrous example of hyperbole-ridden spin? Well, of course it's over-exaggeration. They scale back their concern of everyone having to watch what pronouns they use to just employers in the very next paragraph of the email:
These professional "Christian" anti-gays never quit. I love how the dictionary definition of the word marriage is the apron the Alliance Defense Fund is hiding behind. How weak is this sh*t?
The Alliance Defense Fund is suing Mr. Paterson, citing an online dictionary's definition of the word "marriage," and claiming that legal recognition of such marriages "will undermine the democratic process and force taxpayer dollars to fund benefits for same-sex couples."
..."This isn't about morals or ethics, it's about a legal standard in New York," a lawyer for the Alliance Defense Fund, Brian Raum, said.
...In the suit, the Alliance Defense Fund says the order was an illegal breach of the separation of powers, in that Mr. Paterson did not consult the Legislature about revising the legal status of those terms before issuing the order.
The suit also cites the online edition of the Merriam-Webster dictionary as evidence that the word "marriage" applies only to a bond between a man and a woman.
OMG -- the married homos are going to bankrupt NY by sucking $$$ out of the wallets of the people of the Empire State! A fact sheet on the lawsuit, Golden v. Patersonis here.
See, folks, even as we make progress on key fronts, the fundies just will not give up trying to roll civil rights back for LGBTs. This is their lot in their faux "Christian" life -- not helping the poor or hungry, or addressing religious discrimination in all forms. No, the attentions (and deep pockets) of the Alliance Defense Fund are focused on the Homosexual Agenda, in this case Oregon's domestic partnership law:
Oregon's new domestic-partnership law could stand, or it could be back in the hands of a lower federal court, depending on how three federal appeals judges weigh arguments they heard Tuesday.
Opponents of the law, represented by the Alliance Defense Fund of Scottsdale, Ariz., made their case to a panel of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Their arguments were not aimed at the law itself, but at elections officials' disqualification of petition signatures they filed to force a statewide election on the law.
...The appeals court will have to decide soon, within 30 days or so, if the law is to face a vote on the Nov. 4 general election ballot.
..."I want this court to uphold the fundamental principle that in America, everybody has a voice and that voice counts," said Austin R. Nimocks, a senior legal counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund. "When you participate in the democratic process, which is big in Oregon with referendums and initiatives, you have a right to have your signature count."
BTW, do you ever see the ADF defend Muslims? Wiccans? Buddhists? Of course not, even though their mission statement describes that it is fighting for religious freedom:
ADF was founded for a unique purpose: to aggressively defend religious liberty by empowering our allies, recognizing that together, we can accomplish far more than we can alone.
But wait, Daddy D, who is behind the ADF (surprise!), makes it clear it's all about defending only Christianliberty. See after the jump.
Right Wing Watch (A Project of People For the American Way) has put together a video list of sound bites from a recent Coral Ridge Ministries broadcast, whose panelists consisted of:
Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council
Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel
Jordan Lorence of the Alliance Defense Fund
Gary DeMar of American Vision
Here's the video (and ps, check out the bug eye shot at the 16 second mark, especially visible in the YouTube HQ version):
Box Turtle Bulletin's Daniel Gonzales exposes the Day of Truth (April 28), the dishonest counter to the tolerance effort in schools on April 24 known as the Day of Silence, sponsored by GLSEN (The Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network). The "Truth" -- sponsored by the fundie legal outfit Alliance Defense Fund -- is little more than promotion for the ex-gay movement. BTB has this video up:
The flat-earth crowd's faith is so weak that it cannot tolerate students being silent during one school day in protest against violence and bullying against LGBTs. The DoT web site encourages students to pass out cards and wear T-shirts with a pray-away-the-gay message, gift wrapped as a First Amendment stand. See below the fold.
The National Day of Silencebrings attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools. This year's event will be held in memory of Lawrence King, a California 8th-grader who was shot and killed Feb. 12 by a classmate because of his sexual orientation and gender expression. Hundreds of thousands of students will come together on April 25 [2008] to encourage schools and classmates to address the problem of anti-LGBT behavior.
VS
The "Day of Truth" is an official project of the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF), a legal alliance dedicated to defending the right to hear and speak the Truth. More specifically, ADF launched this project in 2005 to ensure the free speech rights of Christian students to present an opposing viewpoint to those organizations that promote homosexual behavior in the schools. In 2007, Focus on the Family and Exodus International joined the project, providing information and support regarding the theological, social, research, and religious ministry issues central to this debate. Neither these organizations nor participants in the Day of Truth are trying to force their views on anyone, but are merely exercising their First Amendment rights to present another side to this issue.
Some of the views they are "not trying to force on anyone," include their own "view" of The Day of Silence:
The Day of Silence is a national program of the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN), which asks students to remain silent for an entire day to express their support for the promotion of the homosexual agenda in the public schools. Unlike the Day of Silence, the Day of Truth does not encourage students to engage in activities that are likely to disrupt the school's academic mission.
How does the Alliance Defense Fund define the "homosexual agenda" you ask?
Jim and Beverly Burrows say after their son attended a Governor's School seminar called "The New Gay Teenager," he began telling them he was unsure of his "sexual orientation."
..."He [said he] was thinking now that he perhaps was gay -- and of course I was floored by this [pronouncement] and was, like, 'where did this come from?' This kind of came out of left field," the dad says. After questioning his son for an extended period, Burrows says he discovered the source. "I found out that this was as a result of this seminar."
Yes, sitting in a seminar turns you gay. That's all it takes in the minds of these folks. If it were that easy, then all these ex-gay programs would be a roaring success!
Anyway, the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) wants North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper to scrutinize the school's program and sweep away any sign of "gay indoctrination." Obviously, The Homosexual AgendaTM is an integral part of the curriculum.
"Some concerned parents who were obviously very alarmed when they found out about this contacted the Alliance Defense Fund," he says, "and we put the state officials on notice that that kind of unlawful and illicit programming cannot be tolerated."
