I've made it to the initial round for favorite progressive blogger in the Air America Cruise Contest. I have to stay in the Top 5 before the second voting round begins, so your vote is appreciated! First voting round:
The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend: "a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."
He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior."
(CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)
Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).
"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008
Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:
A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist." (Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)
"A nutty lesbian blogger." (MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)
Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

who monitors yours Bevis ?? Just thought I would drop you a line,so the rest of your life is not wasted.
The hits just keep on coming for the McCain/Palin campaign. Today the largest paper in Alaska, The Anchorage Daily News endorsed Barack Obama.
The Daily News, which in the past has been generally supportive of the Governor seemed to agree with many in the lower 48. It said: --after the break--
Before I launch into this post, let me just be clear about one thing. I'm not sure of much anymore. But I am fairly certain that I shouldn't be writing this, or much of anything having to do with politics these days. For starters, I'm not that relevant as a voter. Based on everything I've read, seen, and heard, as black gay male, a member of the upper middle class, a college-educated white collar worker, and a non-Christian and non-theist, who doesn't reside in a southern state, a rust-belt state, a battle-ground state, a small town or a rural area, and someone far enough to the left to be out of the mainstream much of the time, I am one of the most irrelevant, least important voters in this election.
I am also not a "real American" living in the "real America." At best, I am an "ersatz American." (The use of the word "ersatz" automatically disqualifies me as a "real American.)"
But this is something I - and the rest of the country - already know and have known for a while.
Today the Alaska Supreme Court decided against six Republican legislators trying to quash the Troopergate investigation. The report will be released on time...tomorrow, 10-10-08, and will be submitted by investigator Steve Branchflower.
The ruling means that Steve Branchflower, the investigator hired by the Legislative Council, will release his report as scheduled on Friday. Branchflower is looking into Palin's dismissal of her public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, and whether she improperly pressured him to fire a state trooper divorced from her sister.
An Alaska woman who owns a company that processes workers' compensation claims in the state has told an independent investigator that she was urged by the office of Gov. Sarah Palin to deny a benefits claim for Palin's ex brother-in-law, a state trooper who was involved in an ugly divorce and child custody dispute with Palin's sister, despite evidence that the claim appeared to be legitimate, according to state officials who were briefed about the conversation.
Murlene Wilkes, the proprietor of Harbor Adjustment Service in Anchorage, had originally denied that she was pressured by Gov. Palin's office to deny state trooper Mike Wooten's claim for workers compensation benefits.
Sarah Palin is fiercely anti-abortion. So PP has picked up on the irony that is driving donations to the organization after Palin's nomination.
If you send a donation to PP in honor of Sarah Palin, this is what will happen:
Planned Parenthood sends a handwritten thank-you card to the donor. If a donation is made in someone's name, he or she gets one, too.
In this case, the Palin cards will go to Republican presidential nominee John McCain's national headquarters.
Have a heart, give the McLame campaign an aneurysm...donate to Planned Parenthood, cause you know Sarah never talked to her daughter about anything but abstinance...and look how that turned out.
I'm wonderin' what's the plan here...What is the McCain camp trying to accomplish here???
Less than a week after balking at the Legislature's investigation into her alleged abuse of power, Gov. Sarah Palin on Monday indicated she will cooperate with a separate probe run by people she can fire.
An attorney for the GOP vice presidential nominee met with an investigator for the state Personnel Board to discuss sharing documents and schedule witness interviews, McCain spokeswoman Meg Stapleton said. Neither she nor McCain spokesman Ed O'Callaghan had further details about the meeting and said they did not know if the governor or her husband would be interviewed.
The growing role of Edward O'Callaghan, who until six weeks ago served as co-chief of the terrorism and national security unit of the U.S. attorney's office in New York, illustrates just how seriously the McCain campaign is taking the so-called "troopergate" inquiry into Palin's firing last summer of Walt Monegan, Alaska's Public Safety Commissioner.
O'Callaghan (who resigned from the U.S. attorney's office at the end of July to join the McCain campaign) is doing more than just public relations when it comes to "troopergate." He told NEWSWEEK that he and another McCain campaign lawyer (whom he declined to identify) are serving as legal "consultants" to Thomas Van Flein, the Anchorage lawyer who at state expense is representing Palin and her office in the inquiry. "We are advising Thomas Van Flein on this matter to the extent that it impacts on the national campaign," he said. "I'm helping out on legal strategy." A McCain spokesman said Wednesday that, while Van Flein was originally hired last month by the Alaska Department of Law to represent Palin and her office, that arrangement has been changed over the past week and he is now being paid only by Palin and her husband - not state funds. He has not billed the state for his work, the spokesman said.
Hello, I don't have a blog because i'm not too good of a writer. but i read lots of stuff! I just thought i would share my "find of the day"..... that could be a fun blog right?? .. maybe not.. but here goes :)
also Jesus General gave a helmet tip to her today for a document FROM palin that outlines this policy
“Faced with the prospect of so many Alaska Guardsmen and soldiers returning home after suffering traumatic brain injuries (TBI), Gov. Sarah Palin reached deep into Alaska's coffers to allocate one hundred dollars to teach health care professionals how to recognize TBI cases.”
There is a post now with an mp3 of a call with her or some sort of recording with here where she talks about her “disappointment” in reclassifying polar bears as endangered. There is also a letter talking about her opposition to classifying beluga whales as endangered!
Let me start by saying that I'm going to give the Log Cabin Republicans the benefit of the doubt that they choose their party and their candidate based on their political philosophy and not just their positions on LGBT issues. I said as much in a comment on a post at Independent Gay Forum that, to me, didn't seem to extend the same courtesy to those of us at the other side of the political spectrum.
But obviously, if your vote is determined by gay issues, it's going to go to Obama/Biden. If you think Obama is better for gays but worse (or even dangerously worse) for the country, than voting for McCain/Palin does not make you a self-loather (though Obama's LGBT devotees will certainly tar you, endlessly, with that brush).
As I said in my comment, I'll make a deal with the LCR and gay conservatives: I won't characterize you guys as self-loathing if you don't characterize LGBT Democrats and progressives as mindless, one-issue voters. After all, none of the people I know or talked to in Denver are supporting Obama/Biden soley on the basis of their positions on LGBT issues, but because we think that McCain/Palin is worse (or even dangerously worse) for the country on a whole range of issues from the economy to health care and foreign policy. It just happens that one candidate/party is better on LGBT issues than the other
The Alaska Board of Agriculture and Conservation was going to close the state-owned, money-losing Wasilla-based Matanuska Maid Dairy, but after Palin (former mayor of Wasilla) was elected governor, things changed - abruptly:
“Certainly, it would be good news to see a turnaround for the company because Matanuska Maid is a great part of Alaska's history,” Gov. Sarah Palin said in a written statement. “But evidence shows that outside competition has undercut Mat Maid's ability to continue the way it has been operating. The Board of Agriculture's request provides the time it wants for corporate planning - whether that means greater solvency or closing its doors.”
We all are still searching for the truth about would be veep Palin, and I'd like you all to take a gander at this letter written by a woman who is a resident of the town of Wasilla, Alaska, where Palin was once mayor. Anne Kilkenny has known Palin since 1992 and has some good hard factual information from someone who's been there in the thick of it.
ABOUT SARAH PALIN
During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running
this small city was turned over to an administrator. She had been
pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had
gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had
given rise to a recall campaign.
Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a "fiscal conservative". During her 6
years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over
33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the
City increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation
(1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a
regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she
promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they
benefited residents.
To be fair, Sarah Palin did not major in American History:
Are you offended by the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not? SP: Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.
This reminds me of the joke about a church using a new version of the Bible, and a parishioner who complains "If the King James version was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me!"
