Not only does it use the same Demonize Your Opponent in Three Easy Steps formula as described below, it answers the question I had below: Will he have the fortitude to publicly call the defenders of LGBT civil rights "followers of Lucifer"? Details at the end of the post.
So followers of Lucifer (either consciously or unconsciously) are for abortion and against capital punishment because he is.
Referendum 71 endorser Ron Boehme has a new blog post up called "Why Pro-Abortionists are Anti-Capital Punishment and Vice Versa". A better title would be Demonizing Your Opponent in Three Easy Steps, by Ron Boehme.
Step One. Remove Complicating Realities from the Equation:
Why are those who are for abortion (killing babies in the womb) usually against capital punishment (the killing of murderers)? Why are they for killing the innocent but not the guilty?
The opposite is also true: Why are those who are against abortion (the taking of innocent human lives) usually for capital punishment? Again, this seems to be a contradiction. If they are in favor of saving young lives, why are they not in favor of saving criminals?
Boehme slickly sidesteps the complicating realities that being pro-choice is not the same as being pro-abortion, and that being found guilty of murder isn't necessarily related to being guilty of murder.
The recent hostile acts of redefining marriage by our state legislators and Governor Gregoire is what has set the stage for Referendum 71. They carefully crafted and passed a bill using the guise of domestic partnerships, but revealed their true intent by infusing the phrase "marriage shall apply equally to state registered domestic partnerships" 180 times throughout the bill.
This assault on marriage in Washington State will not go unanswered.
It is downright un-American to characterize the deliberative actions of a duly elected legislature and governor as "hostile" and an "assault" when those actions are to secure the equal protection of the law for all citizens, as per Amendment 14 of the United State Constitution. Haven't we learned yet that inflammatory language kills?
Tony Perkins, head of the Family Research Council, has a new sheeple grooming scheme in play. It's called "Call 2 Fall". On the surface, it looks harmless enough. He's asking clerics to set aside a few minutes during services on Sunday, July 5, 2009 and "call their people to get on their knees and faces before the Lord in repentant prayer to forgive our sins and heal our land." Perkins says his inspiration is 2 Chronicles 7:14. That may indeed be his inspiration, but his goal is decidedly profane. A look at the Call 2 Fall materials sent out by Cindy Honcoop of the Washington Eagle Forum and Protect Marriage Washington makes clear that "submission" will entail more than just genuflecting.
Ron Boehme is the guy who said that repealing an incremental domestic partnership bill is more important than preventing a holocaust. And now he's inviting carpetbaggers to Washington to help him lie to voters. After enduring years of that tax cheat and voter manipulator, the Oregonian Gary Randall, I'm not sure how much more carpetbaggery Washington can take.
I want to ask all of you, whether you live in the state of Washington or not, to get involved to help save marriage in in Washington State through Referendum 71. This is the recently launched petition drive that will allow the citizens of Washington to vote in November to preserve the institution of marriage.
What is it with these "Christians" who can't stop with the lies? As we all know, Referendum 71 is about repealing an incremental domestic partnership law, not a marriage law. Ron is using the same bait and switch as the rest of the anti-family crew: lie to people that the referendum is about marriage because they know that a super-majority of Washingtonians favor domestic partnerships or better for same-sex couples who want to protect their children and make their families as legally secure as possible.
A set of posts that Ron Boehme has up on his website show just how shallow and morally bankrupt the local radical right is. Move over "world's greatest holocaust", Ron's got a local referendum to run!
Ron Boehme is on the board of directors of Gary Randall's Protect Marriage Washington, the misnamed organization behind Washington's anti-domestic partnership Referendum 71. Ron also happens to be friends with Oregon Gary, who also runs the Faith & Freedom Network, Foundation and PAC that have benefitted Boehme in the past.
In his recent effort to sound disapproving about the assassination of the abortion provider Dr. Tiller, Ron couldn't resist repeating the terrorist trigger words "satanic", "murderer", "baby killer" and "mass murderers". And just last week he talked about "the world's greatest holocaust", saying
Forty-five million innocent human beings (so far) were killed in the United States and eight hundred million world-wide. It's the world's greatest holocaust, wrapped in the language of freedom and choice.
Ok, so we get the message that abortion is THE NUMBER ONE CONCERN for Mr. Boehme. Except that to Boehme, "the holocaust" of abortion is sooo last century. The alleged slaughter of millions of innocent tiny Americans just doesn't rank any more. The great concern for the 21st Century according to Boehme? Domestic Partnerships. But hey, cut the guy some slack, he's got a money mill to help Gary run. The Tiny Innocents will just have to save themselves. Radical Right sincerity at its finest.
