The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend: "a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."
He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior."
(CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)
Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).
"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008
Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:
A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist." (Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)
"A nutty lesbian blogger." (MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)
Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Since the Washington Secretary of State has just announced the official raw signature tally for Referendum 71, I thought it would be fun to summarize some of the other numbers shaping this campaign.
39. Registered domestic partners are living in each of Washington state's 39 counties.
200 -> 450. Registered domestic partnerships provide about 200 of the 450 state-level rights, responsibilities and protections that are provided by civil marriages. The number will be 450 for both DPs and marriages if the Domestic Partnership Expansion Bill of 2009 is APPROVED by voters in November, or if Referendum 71 fails to make the ballot in the first place.
Victims' rights, including the right to receive notifications and benefits allowances. Business succession rights.
Legal process rights, such as the ability to sign certain documents, the requirement to join in certain petitions, rights to cause of action, and ability to transfer licenses without charge.
The right to use sick leave to care for a spouse.
The right to wages and benefits when a spouse is injured, and to unpaid wages upon death of spouse.
The right to unemployment and disability insurance benefits disability insurance issues
Workers' compensation coverage.
Insurance rights, including rights under group policies, policy rights after death of spouse, conversion rights, and continuing coverage rights.
The Washington State Catholic Conference (WSCC), which "represents the Catholic Bishops of the State of Washington on issues of public policy", has posted a link to this notice on the main page of their website (hyperlinks are mine).
Passed by the 2009 Legislature, SSB 5688 granted all of the rights of marriage to same-sex couples in Washington State. Referendum 71 seeks to overturn SSB 5688, known as the "all but marriage" law...
WSCC opposed SSB 5688 because proponents publically (sic) stated that this legislation was intended to extend existing marriage rights to same-sex couples as a precursor to legalizing gay marriage in Washington State. While opposing all unjust discrimination against any individual, WSCC upholds marriage as a union between a man and a woman, which is the foundation of our civil society.
Opposing "unjust discrimination" implies that some discrimination is justified, that it can be just to discriminate. According to the bishops of Washington, it is just to destabilize and undermine LGBT families. The bishops believe it just to disadvantage children by preventing their LGBT parents from protecting them to the fullest extent of the law via domestic partnerships or marriage.
How do these people have the nerve to show their faces in public after spouting such anti-family nastiness?
An important question has been left unasked in all the hullabaloo surrounding the renegade WhoSigned.org. Namely, if the anti-family, anti-child forces behind Referendum 71 fail to gather enough signatures to submit it to the Secretary of State, what happens to the names, addresses and e-mails of people who signed the petition (the petition asks for e-mails even though they're not legally required)?
By law, referendum backers can do whatever they want with them. Including sell them.
Gary Randall is on record admitting that data from failed petitions go right into the Faith & Freedom Network's database and are later swapped with other organizations or used in-house for fundraising and other solicitations. Such lists are so valuable to a foundering organization like his that in 2006 he and then-ally Pastor Joe Fuiten got into a public hissy fit* with Tim Eyman over the control of petitions from their failed effort to repeal the gay civil rights law via Referendum 65.
* Gary deleted the pertinent Faith & Freedom blog post after I discussed it here.
UPDATE: Gary Randall's daily blog post tells us all we need to know. More at end of diary. There is a new entry on Protect Marriage Washington's endorsement list: "Pastor Tim Robinson, CityGate Church of Puyallup". Take a look at the awesome resources at this pastor's disposal. The church has no website and isn't even listed in several area church directories. However, there was one mention of Pastor Robinson last year in the Tacoma News Tribune. The title speaks for itself: "40 Days For Life: Vigil or Harassment?"
PMW can't even assemble a convincing religious veneer for their hate-mongering money grab. This does not bode well for the success of their petition drive or for their acceptance by the general public.
[When] you come in and you introduce the concept of same-sex marriage or secular marriage, or any of the other rituals that have been formed by the state - and what you do is disestablish the godly order in favor of an order of death. Now let me say this to you Larry, because it's the important part. The government, government was created to kill.
Ever since the anti-equality lobby day in Olympia this past March, I've been kicking myself that I didn't record the speeches. There was one speech in particular that I was ruing the loss of, because it was such an excellent example of the sort of extreme wingnuttery that repels the average voter. It was Stephen Pidgeon's speech.
Now, amazingly, Larry had posted a video of Mr. Pidgeon's rally speech on his Ref 71 web page. Larry has also posted the audio file of a radio interview he did with Mr. Pidgeon on February 27th, a few weeks before the rally. A transcript of the audio file is below, as is the Pidgeon video and its transcript. I recommend the radio interview because the duo had more time to lay down thick layers of batshit than did Mr. Pidgeon in his rally speech. But the video is also fun just to see it rip. And finally, since it is sometimes instructive to string together pearls of wisdom on one cord, I've placed A Gallery of Pidgeon Corkers at the end of the post.
Today was the last day anyone could file a challenge to the ballot language that the Washington State Attorney General proposed for Referendum 71. Referendum 71 seeks to repeal the recently-passed Domestic Partnership Expansion Bill of 2009 which gives same-sex couples all the state-level rights, responsibilities and privileges of marriage.
All eyes were expectantly on Equal Rights Washington, but who showed up at the courthouse today to protest the language of the referendum? None other than the referendum's daddy, Larry Stickney.
As of May 22, 2009, Gary Randall was still directing donations into his Faith & Freedom PAC. Why, Gary? On his May 22, 2009 radio broadcast and in his email of May 23rd, Larry Stickney talked a lot about the referendum, then directed people not to the Protect Marriage Washington website, but to his Washington Values Coalition website to donate money. Why, Larry?
The fundraising widget on the Protect Marriage Washington website is finally functional, so there is no excuse to continue diverting money to your personal cash cows other organizations. And why haven't the two of you publicly launched your Protect Marriage Washington website yet? You have no intention of following through with the referendum, do you?
UPDATE: The Kent Reporter just released the most amazing Op-Ed. Kent is the home of the superfringe Constitution Party that adopted the poor waifs Gary & Larry. Updating the lists below...
UPDATE 2: More pro-equality editorials from Central Kitsap Reporter and Federal Way Mirror. The deeper I dig, the more gold I find. Not a clunker yet!
"Please say a prayer today for the courageous legislators who are standing tall in opposition to the agenda of the Seattle-based homosexual lobby and their left wing media allies & enablers." --Larry Sitckney in a Washington Values Alliance E-mail from April 15, 2009
If you listen to Larry Stickney much, you hear this sort of refrain a lot. The assumption behind such statements is that once you leave the "Seattle red zone", as Larry calls it, you're in anti-domestic partnership country.
I decided it was time to test this assumption. Guess what I found? The non-Seattle media is pro-equality too. Papers from Kitsap County to Anacortes to Bellingham to Sedro-Woolley to Kent to Vancouver to Wenatchee to Yakima to Pasco to Spokane published stories sympathetic to our quest for equality. Most significantly, every paper which stated an editorial opinion on domestic partnerships or Ref 71 unequivocally supported domestic partnerships or better (marriage equality) and opposed Ref 71.
It's not just the Seattle-based media that supports fairness and equality, it's darn near all of it. Who's going to break it to Larry?
UPDATE: Look who else Larry can pad his list with: three wives!Gary Randall & Larry Stickney's organization to push Washington Referendum 71 is called Protect Marriage Washington. They haven't publicly announced the new org's website yet, probably because they're embarrassed that their online donation page still isn't working. Funny then that they're posting their threadbare list of endorsements in every email. Why funny? Because the list is padded with more fluff than Flat Aunt Freda's bra. Is it possible for the Crumbling Coalition of Fanatical Fringe not to embarrass themselves?
For the second time this year, Washington's Governor Chris Gregoire has had the honor of advancing civil rights with her mighty pen. Governor Gregoire has been a steadfast ally. Here is what she said when the House passed SB 5688, the Domestic Partnership Expansion Bill of 2009:
"I want to thank the legislators who worked tirelessly to get this bill passed in the House. This legislation will expand basic benefits, provide better financial security and ensure equal treatment for domestic partners living in Washington state. Our state is one that thrives on diversity. We have to respect and protect all families that make up our communities."
The question remains when the bill will take effect. Because Oregonian Gary Randall and & his bumbling Washington operative Larry Stickney are proceeding with their cash cow fools errand of a ReferenDUMB, the law will remain in limbo until they fail to return enough valid signatures by the deadline of July 25th.
The media support for the DP bill is significant, and must be really demoralizing to the anti-equality sector if it's making me so happy. However, the press has yet to examine the frequent claim that domestic partnerships are "everything but marriage". Larry Stickney, who filed the referendum paperwork on behalf of Oregonian Gary Randall, frequently makes statements like this:
"It is everything but marriage without the word, but it elevates the homosexual relationship to the same level as marriage," he said. "There's no legal difference. All it is is the name."
UPDATE: Oregon Gary's Washington operative, Larry Stickney, posts his own straw poll that adds up to 86%, lol. See screen shot below the fold.Oregonian Gary Randall posted a survey on his blog yesterday. He did so because he refused to accept the unsurprising news Monday that few of Washington State's major religious right figures think it is wise to pursue the anti-domestic partnership referendum Gary is hawking in Washington. They can read and understand the polls, even if Gary can't.
Today Oregon Gary reports some very interesting results from his online survey:
Faith and Freedom is getting a little different picture. With several hundreds filling out our survey, it is running, as of this morning, 98.8% who favor the referendum and 6.7% who oppose it. The other 1.5% aren't sure.
Percentages apparently add up to 107 in Oregon Gary's universe, not 100. But we all know Gary's a wizard with the numbers.
Also, "several hundreds" responded? Big whoop. I can find 200 people to agree with just about anything. It's the other 120,377 you're not hearing from that I'd be concerned with, Gary. Remember, you need 120,577 valid signatures from Washington voters to qualify your referendum. And as an Oregon voter, you can't even sign your own referenDUMB petition.
By the way, Gary, man up. It wasn't Danny Westneat of the evil Seattle Times who surveyed the religious right majors of Washington, as you would have us think from your blog post. It was Bothell's own Pastor Joe Fuiten of the Cedar Park Assembly of God. Look your adversary in the eye.
For months, Oregonian Gary Randall has been promoting an anti-domestic partnership referendum in Washington State, then directing his donors to give to one of his Oregon-based organizations, not to the Washington-registered political action committee (PAC) he says is already dedicated to the referendum effort.
On Monday, May 4th, Gary's Washington operative Larry Stickney filed the promised referendum (Ref 71) calling for the repeal of the soon-to-be-signed Domestic Partnership Expansion Bill of 2009 (SB 5688). The bill will make registered domestic partnerships fully "separate but equal" to civil marriage at the state level in Washington.
On Wednesday, May 6th I received a fundraising letter from Gary Randall on Faith & Freedom Foundation letterhead (right-click on thumbnails to view full-size image). It was dated May 1st, but postmarked May 5th. The letter said "We are presently waiting for the Governor to sign the bill into law. With that done, we will file a referendum." It goes on to state how "Your donation is urgently needed now", and ends with "P.S. Your contribution to Faith & Freedom Foundation is tax-deductible". Enclosed with the letter was a pre-printed donation envelope with the instructions "Make tax-deductible checks payable to Faith & Freedom Foundation". No other donation options (to give to the referendum PAC, for example) were listed anywhere in the letter or on the envelope.
This fundraising letter is just the latest in a string of unethical fundraising fake-outs Oregon Gary has perpetrated. A more detailed timeline lies tucked below the fold...
UPDATE: THIS IS HUGE. Pastor Joe Fuiten, former brother-in-arms with Larry & Oregon Gary, sent out an e-mail this morning quoting clergy and other hard-core anti-LGBTs on how craven this referendum effort is, and why it will fail. No wonder Larry refused to name the members of the "broad-based coalition" he claimed Monday to be working with - it doesn't exist. Read Fuiten's e-mail at the bottom of the post. This is what happens when your carpetbagging, tax-evading leader apparently drops out in disgrace and you replace him with an understudy who openly lies about legislation and thinks it's smart to advertise his campaign FAILURES on his resume. Here is one reporter's description of the scene as Larry Stickney officially started the referendum process on Monday to repeal Washington's as-yet-to-be-signed-by-the-governor Domestic Partnership Expansion Bill of 2009:
Most major ballot measure campaigns (e.g. last year's assisted suicide measure, or anything by Tim Eyman) milk the news of their filing for maximum free publicity to get the word out. In Eyman's case, we practically have to roll up our car windows on him as we pull out of the parking lot.
But Stickney was clearly caught off guard - and annoyed - to find several reporters waiting for him at the Secretary of State's elections division. He initially declined to take questions.
"I'll have that all in a nice, tidy press release later this afternoon," he said
UPDATE I was right - the begging bowl has definitely been passed from Gary Randall to Larry Stickney. Larry officially filed a referendum today.Washington state's legislature recently passed the Domestic Partnership Expansion Bill of 2009 (SB 5688), which makes Washington DPs almost equal to marriage. The local Professional Christians are having a ball raising money off the event by scaring their followers into believing that DPs will destroy America, etc. etc., assuring that the promised referendum is the only way to save the day, then asking for donations into their coffers rather than the dedicated fund for the referendum. Slick, huh?
Gary Randall was supposedly the guy "asked to lead" (see his 4/20/2009 diary) a referendum effort to repeal the new DP law. But since Oregon Gary has been exposed as a carpetbagging, tax-evading, money-grubbing incompetent, it looks like the begging bowl has been passed to Larry Stickney. Larry, the guy who features campaign failures on his resume, has posted a "rally the troops" piece on his website. It's called TEN GOOD REASONS TO RUN A REFERENDUM TO SAVE MARRIAGE NOW! Yes, he's the sort to write in caps. And he lies like no tomorrow. Read the post and my comments (in green) below the fold.
Gary Randall, the Oregonian who makes a living off of stirring up anti-gay animus in Washington state, has dolefully released his marriage poll.
Faith and Freedom Network paid The Elway Poll to ask one simple question: "In your opinion, should homosexuals be allowed to legally marry?"
A majority said no.
I have included the entire report. Demographically, the results were predictable, with Seattle strongly in favor of homosexual marriage, King County favorable, but less so, with the rest of Washington State opposed.
The age demographics should be of concern to all who support traditional marriage.
The actual result was
43% = YES
50% = NO
07% = DK/NA
This represents a HUGE increase in YES's from his similarly worded Elway poll from 2006. Then, only 34% of Washington voters favored marriage equality.
But the most serious and immediate problem this poll presents for Gary isn't in what it says about marriage, but what it implies about the likelihood of success in his pending referendum campaign to repeal the new Domestic Partnership Expansion Bill of 2009. If 43% of Washington voters support bona fide marriage for all, an overwhelming majority are likely to favor the retention of the new DP law. We already know from other polling that 66% of voters support what we're getting with the DP Expansion Bill, or better.
Gary's comment on the age demographic says it all. He sees the writing on the wall, and that writing states quite clearly, "Gary, & Co., time for you to gracefully bow out of your referendum plans!"
It's no longer a question of referendum, it is a question of referenDUMB.
There was a sense in both the House and the Senate that the homosexuals believe [the DP bill] is a "done deal." I don't agree. Senator Swecker and I, along with others of like mind, are working to defeat the Senate bill. I believe we have a shot at it. If not, we will immediately begin a referendum process that will put it before the people. Traditional marriage prevailed in California, Arizona and Florida this past November. We can do it here as well.
Since that first mention, he's repeated the promise of an initiative or referendum over a dozen times on his blog and in his emails (usually accompanied by a fundraising plea). Vague references to an unplanned referendum were also bandied about at The Washington Hate Coalition's anti-equality rally in Olympia.
Gary Randall is an unabashed anti-LGBT bigot, so you may think it odd that I'm questioning why he would pursue an initiative or referendum. The reason is quite simple: because he can't win. And he knows it. So there must be other motives in play. Join me after the flip for an exploration of the probabilities. (Teaser: in honor of tax day, Gary's IRS filings will be examined!)
UPDATE 4/16/2009:Today, Gary made an explicit promise to run a referendum to repeal the DP Expansion Bill of 2009 that just passed. Are we at all surprised that the fundraising page he links readers to does not go to the PAC set up for the referendum, campaign, but to his Foundation? What a total scammer!
Washington State lawmakers passed SB 5688 yesterday afternoon, thus giving the homosexual activists what they want. Gov. Gregoire will sign it. We will seek to overturn it by referendum....
I cannot over state our need for your financial support today. Thank you for making that choice and stepping up with us to defend the time honored and biblically mandated institution of marriage.
Anyone keeping tabs on legislative hearings will know that their schedules frequently get changed. Lawmaking is a dynamic process and not always amenable to strict timelines. The WA legislature acknowledges this by placing "subject to change" notices next to scheduled dates.
But as usual, reason be damned; these guys like to play the persecuted christian martyr. It's good for meeting fund raising goals. Check out Mr. Johnson's HILARIOUS lie-encrusted email below. For clarity, I've numbered his fabrications and provided a rebuttal in green.
