The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Sally Kern on Obama's radical homo agenda (?!) and her Proclamation of Morality

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Jun 24, 2009 at 10:00:00 AM EDT

Are they living in some alternate reality than the rest of us? Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern  (sallykern@okhouse.gov)  the homo-hating, illegal pistol-packing bigot caught The Peter's eye with this diatribe about this "proof" of the Obama admin's godless homosexualism:
The homosexual agenda is only one symptom of the real problem in America. The problem is that we have forsaken the Judeo-Christian values upon which this nation was founded. Noah Webster declared: “The principles of genuine liberty and of wise laws and administrations are to be drawn from the  Bible.”

There are two conflicting worldviews vying for power. The secular humanist worldview versus the Judeo-Christian or Biblical worldview. Humanism sees the world as impersonal matter shaped by chance with man just another animal. There is no basis for values or laws. The Biblical worldview recognizes a Creator who established moral laws and absolute truth as revealed in the Bible. Man, made in God’s image, is priceless.

Our founding fathers established this nation upon the Biblical worldview as evidenced by John Adam’s statement, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.” Or James Madison’s statement: “We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government … but upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the 10 Commandments of God.”

For the first time in America’s history, we have a president who has no understanding of the Biblical worldview and who has even less understanding of the truths of the Bible. This is evident when he says that support for homosexual “marriage” [unions] can be found in the Sermon on the Mount or that certain passages in Romans are just obscure passages. Whereas George Washington expelled from his military those who practiced sodomy, President Obama honors sodomites by proclaiming an entire month as Gay Pride Month, but he won’t acknowledge one day for our National Day of Prayer.

We'll trade you one day of bleeping prayer for a few civil rights. That's a fair exchange. More below the fold, including a copy of her incredible Proclamation for Morality.

Why does God hate Sally Kern?

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Feb 10, 2009 at 19:30:00 PM EST

Tornado Confirmed Near Oklahoma City.  Unfortunately, there's no word that Glinda the Good Witch dropped a house on a certain homo-hating, illegal pistol-packing legislator.*
More than a month away from the traditional start of the state's severe weather season, a tornado touched down in Oklahoma on Tuesday.

Tornado sirens were activated, and television news video appeared to show a tornado and debris in the air in a rural area. School children were being kept in locked-down schools until the storm passed.

Damage was confirmed at a Chuck-E-Cheese pizza restaurant, Oklahoma City TV station KOCO reported. The storm also caused damage across northwestern parts of Oklahoma City, knocking down power lines and damaging structures.

I guess God also hates Chuck-E-Cheese.

Sally Kern and her zombie anti-gay meme at OKC wingnut fest

by: Pam Spaulding

Fri Feb 06, 2009 at 09:00:00 AM EST

Just when you thought the tired Oklahoma bigot Rep. Sally Kern would be retired to the dustbin of anti-gay history (she was re-elected, no surprise, in what is sadly one of the  reddest states in the union), she surfaces like a rotting bloated corpse, polluting the Character Conference Center (a former Holiday Inn) in downtown OKC recently with news that she's broken a blazing hot conspiracy wide open -- she has located The Homosexual Agenda.

"Big Homo," as Matt Barber calls us, has compiled its plan for world domination based on a 1990 book called "After the Ball," by Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen and a book named after a musical adaptation of Oscar Wilde's "Lady Windermere's Fan." The crowd at the John Birch Society-organized "Clouds Over America" ate it up. (OKGazette):

Among the items in the agenda, Kern said, was getting the public to view homosexuality as a matter of taste, like a preference for strawberry or vanilla ice cream. She quoted the text: "The masses should not be shocked and repelled by premature exposure to homosexual behavior itself."

"You know," Kern said. "I've done a lot of reading on this. I wish I could describe to you their behavior. I will not because I would be redder than this suit. It's their behavior that we oppose.

"This theme of equality and freedom is the approach that the homosexuals are using today - totally perverting the true intention of what our Constitution meant. ... The homosexuals get it - it's a struggle between our religious freedoms and their right to do what they want to do."

Around the banquet hall, Kern's speech met with applause and calls of "Amen!" from a crowd stoked in a crucible of conspiracy and intrigue.

You know, this batsh*t insanity from  homo-hating, illegal pistol-packing legislator Kern is just mind-blowing. She also has a plan of action -- how many voters in her district believe this crap?
Kern called for a new "Great Awakening," referring to a period of religious revivals from the 18th century considered precursor to the American Revolution.

"The solution is another Great Awakening, folks," Kern said. "We need a spiritual revival, and that will only come if God's people, especially you pastors, will stand in your pulpits and vocally preach the word of God and thus declare the Lord this sin, and preach it in love, only then does our nation have a chance of overcoming the scourge of AIDS, HIV and the devastating destruction that the homosexual lifestyle is bringing on your children and our grandchildren."

OK: Bigot Sally Kern, challenger Marlett debate -- and the sparks fly

by: Pam Spaulding

Sat Oct 11, 2008 at 09:00:00 AM EDT

Oklahoma homo-hating, illegal pistol-packing legislator Sally Kern sticks to her story -- gays are more dangerous than terrorism. She reiterated this insanity during a debate on Thursday with opponent Ron Marlett and it turned ugly. KOCO-TV has video. Some of Kern's statements during the debate:
"It's a moral decay that's going to destroy our nation from within."

"While terrorism has killed more than 3,000 people, in the continental United States in the last 15 years, homosexual behavior has killed more than 100,000," she said. "It's a danger to life. It is a danger to health."

"Our county is united pretty much against terrorism, but homosexuality is being promoted in schools and by the government."

While Marlett does not support marriage equality (this is Oklahoma, folks), he has strongly spoken out about fomenting bigotry and denial of civil rights.
"To compare certain members of our community to a cancer that might need to be removed is chilling to me...We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal."
BTW, things got so heated that one member of the gallery was removed by police when the person tried to call out Kern for bringing guns into the state Capitol. The KOCO video is hilarious and sad at the same time. Kern is an educator that doesn't understand the need to separate church and state. Please, Oklahoma voters, dump this woman, she  should not hold public office.

You can see video of Marlett campaigning here. In another video, Ron rocks to raise money --

The RNC Sally Kern Interview

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Sep 09, 2008 at 14:45:00 PM EDT

Mike Signorile interviewed Oklahomobigot, illegal pistol-packing legislator Sally Kern while he was at the RNC. She clearly doesn't know who he is, even after he introduced himself (see my earlier post). Here is part 1 of the interview. The other is at Mike's pad.

it was a nice treat to go through the camcorder over the weekend and find the Sally Kern interview (which we've played on the show) pretty much intact on video as well. The sound quality goes out for a brief moment or two, and it doesn't include the very end, where she mentions that "Siganorelli" guy. For that you'll have to check out the audio clip I posted. But otherwise, it's a gem.

Mike and Sally at the RNC

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Sep 03, 2008 at 13:00:00 PM EDT

OMG. This is a riot. Take a look at this photo over at Mike Signorile's blog The Gist:

Sally Kern was on the floor of the GOP convention and Mike sauntered up, introduced himself by name (she's been on the show) and clearly she didn't get it. Gay Cooties for you, Sally - party on!

She even mentioned at the end of our interview, while I took a picture with her, that she had a bad experience on Sirius, with "whatshisname, Michael Siganorelli or something like that."
Mike IM'd me to say that he asked Sally "if gays caused Bristol Palin to become pregnant." She went on a long bible-beating tirade that you will have to check out - he will have the interview up later.

He also got a big scoop on McCain's 96-year-old mom Roberta, who has been gagged by the McCain campaign lest she say something to rock the political boat.

I introduced myself, and she smiled graciously and seemed eager to speak as I asked her what the week was like for her. But then she spotted one of her handlers coming through, and looked at me sheepishly, and said, "They won't let me be interviewed." Her facial expressed became pained: "They won't let me talk." One of the handlers, a blonde woman with a Sarah Palin hairstyle and glasses (very popular here now), then pulled her away, along with a male secret service guy, and Roberta McCain looked into my eyes, helplessly, pleadingly, and repeated, "They won't let me talk!"
Head over to read the rest and listen to the audio.

UPDATE: Look at who Mike just sat down and interviewed -- Man on Dog himself.

Sitting nearby were Dennis Hastert, Tom Delay, and George "Maccaca" Allen. Now that's a GOP Cootie overload.

Like a bad penny...Sally Kern turns up again

by: Pam Spaulding

Fri Aug 08, 2008 at 07:45:00 AM EDT

"I am not saying everyone has to be Christian; this is not a homogenous nation. What you have to be is someone who believes in a Judeo-Christian ethic, in other words, in knowing there's a right and wrong. Not all lifestyles are equal; not all religions are equal...My Lord made it very clear to me that I'm a cultural warrior for Judeo-Christian values."
-- Oklahoma homo-hating, illegal pistol-packing legislator Sally Kern
Wow. Read that quote again and just pause to think about the stupidity and bigotry it represents.

Sally Kern, who's running for a third term to represent Oklahoma City, is a schoolteacher and sits on the Education Committee in the Oklahoma legislature(!). She has just made it clear that if you're an atheist, Muslim, Wiccan, Buddhist or anything outside her religious world view, you're less than, immoral, and apparently unworthy of representation by an elected official in her country.

Welcome to homoworld, peeps, where we are "the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism" and are "destroying this nation."

Kern, who has been defended by the likes of The Peter, also has professional "Christian" Bam Bam Barber on her side:

People with traditional values who value God's design for human sexuality will not be intimidated and bullied into silence.  Political correctness can never trump truth.  Sally Kern stood for truth, and she was hated for it.  She was persecuted for Christ, but the Body of Christ was there to lift her up.
Haven't we had enough of this crap? I have. Sally Kern had the opportunity to let this all die down, but it's clear she loves the limelight so she can spew her bigotry to court like-minded Oklahomans. One can only hope that there are many more sensible voters in that state who are ready to have sane lawmakers in the legislature -- Kern's just admitted that she is incapable of representing all of the people.

Steve Ralls at PFLAG National Blog:

[I]s it ethical, as a public servant sworn to uphold the law, to create an entire second-class of citizenship based on religion or sexual orientation? Did Sally forget that her real job is supposed to be advancing the cause of liberty and justice for all? And what will Oklahoma City voters have to say about it all come November?

As On Top Magazine reminds us, "Kern is running for a third term against Democrat Ron Marlett, 59. Marlett has said he wants to represent everyone in the district 'equally with no discrimination as to race, religion, gender or sexual preference.'"

Here's video on the news of Marlett's intention to run.

He has said "When I heard those statements, I told my family then and there my decision to run" because Kern's bile made him "realize the strength, and the damage involved in extreme statements like that," especially from someone in Kern's position."

OK: 'Outdoors girl' Sally Kern is packing...

by: Pam Spaulding

Thu Jul 24, 2008 at 07:45:00 AM EDT

"It has nothing to do with the homosexual situation and I'm just sorry that I forgot to take it out"
-- Oklahoma homo-hating legislator Sally Kern who was packing heat when entering Oklahoma's capitol building
The obvious question to ask is WWJD? By the way, this is the second time Kern has been stopped with a gun in her purse as she tried to enter the building. (NewsOK):
State Rep. Sally Kern says she's an "outdoors girl" who's done some shooting but didn't intend to bring her pistol into the state Capitol on Wednesday.

Kern, who made national headlines earlier this year when she said the homosexual agenda is the biggest threat facing this country, said she was in a hurry and didn't realize she had her pistol in her purse.

...Kern, an Oklahoma City Republican, said she is "out of the habit of being at the Capitol" since the Legislature adjourned in May.

Let's do a rewind, and post tidbits from Sally's little recorded screed in March. They are after the jump.

What would Sally Kern think of this?

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Apr 29, 2008 at 01:00:00 AM EDT

Oh my -- Sally's head may explode; she better start praying because the Homosexual Menace is planting roots in her state, according to The Advocate: Tulsa named emerging city for same-sex couples.
According to the magazine, Gary Gates, a senior research fellow at the Williams Institute at University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law, "used the 2006 U.S. Census estimates of the country's 100 largest cities" and "ranked those cities by the portion of same-sex couples (again, determined by Census data) among all couples and compared that to the figures from 2000."

Tulsa, which had 7.74 same-sex couples per 1,000 households in 2006, went from a rank of 77 in 2000 to 46 in 2006.

...The Advocate piece includes 30-year-old Tulsan Justice Desiree Waidner, who is executive director of Oklahomans for Equality, which seeks equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals and their families.

"I think that it's a recognition that's really well-deserved," Waidner said of The Advocate story. "I've been really proud of Tulsa and our community for the way that we have really worked to create a visible and vibrant lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community."

The Rev. Nancy Eggen of the United Campus Ministry at the University of Tulsa said of The Advocate's data, "I hope this trend continues because if it doesn't, then it means people aren't feeling welcome here, and that's not the Tulsa I want to project to people."

'Top secret' gay activi$m in political races

by: Pam Spaulding

Fri Apr 25, 2008 at 09:30:00 AM EDT

Oh nooees!  In a Christian Broadcast News report, the ace bankroller of the Homosexual Agenda, the man name-checked by Sally Kern herself, Tim Gill is further exposed as the arch enemy.
You probably haven't heard the name Tim Gill. And that's just the way he wants it.

Carrie Earll, Senior Director of Issues Analysis for Focus on the Family explains, "Tim Gill is stealth. He's under the radar. When he goes after a candidate he doesn't make homosexuality the issue. He picks something else because he knows the issue of homosexuality is still risky among the electorate."

A Colorado native, Gill still calls Denver home. He made his millions in the 80s and 90s as the founder of the publishing software giant Quark.

...Gill's no secret in the gay world. Out magazine just named him the fifth most influential gay in the country. But Gill, his spokesperson, and big-time gay rights organizations all refused requests from CBN News to talk about Gill.

The tinfoil hattery is below the fold.

Oklahoma: Sheriff charged with rape, forcible sodomy of inmates

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Apr 22, 2008 at 11:00:00 AM EDT

State Rep. Sally Kern -- how about this fine upstanding citizen of your state? Is he more or less of a threat to society than your average aggressive radical homosexual or everyday homosexual?

Michael Burgess, sheriff in Custer County, OK is a pious family man, he even offers a Sheriff's prayer on his website. Unfortunately he needs a few prayers right now, as he is charged with abusing his authority by offering leniency to inmates in exchange for getting blown and laid.

Michael Burgess, sheriff in Custer County, Okla., since 1994, surrendered to state law enforcement agents Wednesday and appeared in district court to face 35 felony charges, including multiple counts of rape, forcible oral sodomy, bribery by a public official and perjury.
More details below the fold, including a snippet of Jesus' General's letter to Sally about the goings-on in her little slice of pious heaven.

Sally Kern's bigotry is sinking Oklahoma's economic ship

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Apr 16, 2008 at 12:00:00 PM EDT

Sally, honey, it was only a matter of time before those pro-homosexual corporations and relocation consultants began thinking of crossing your state and city off the list after your hate-filled bile was exposed -- and you were unapologetic, even defiant. As your chamber of commerce will tell you, homophobia is bad for business.  Therefore, you aren't really serving your constituents very well if your representation is driving business away. (Oklahoma City Journal Record):
A San Francisco Bay-area financial services company has not yet ruled out Oklahoma City for a major office relocation, a vice president of a real estate search firm confirmed. A decision is expected in three to four weeks.

But Tom Maloney, vice president of California-based Staubach Co., would neither confirm nor deny that the 1,000-employee, AAA-rated client company's top executive is a lesbian who expressed concern over Oklahoma Rep. Sally Kern's recent anti-homosexual statements, as has been the topic circulating among local business leaders.

Roy Williams, president of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, said the issue is a major concern the chamber is trying to address. He confirmed a Staubach consultant was troubled by Kern's comments during a recent visit to the city.
"He told us straight up ... 'I cannot recommend to any of my clients that they should consider Oklahoma City because of that,'" Williams said. "When you have one of the nation's premier relocation experts making those statements, you should pay attention to that and not dismiss it.

"And that's immediately what happened: People said, 'Well, then tell them not to come here.' The problem with that is they (relocating firms) represent many of the Fortune 500 companies. And to be so dismissive of something that's a lot more sincere than people are giving credit, to me, shows a lack of understanding of what's really going on."

And do you think Sally has been keeping a low profile about this mess? Nope. Just last week she gave an unhinged radio interview with Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (SBC)'s Messenger Radio co-hosts Ray Sanders and Bob Nigh. Read some of it below the fold.

Sally Kern the pious prevaricator is unveiled on audio by PFLAG

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Apr 09, 2008 at 11:45:00 AM EDT

As promised, Steve Ralls of PFLAG National has the full audio up proving Sally Kern likes to bear false witness over and over.
On the recording released today, Kern twice agrees with PFLAG supporters that gay Americans should not be fired from their jobs simply because of their sexual orientation.  She goes on to say that "maybe" she would consider a follow-up meeting with PFLAG families in her district and agrees to a dinner invitation from a PFLAG supporter in the meeting.  Near the end of the conversation, Kern is asked, in recapping the conversation, if she does indeed oppose anti-gay job discrimination; she responds affirmatively that she does.

"Representative Kern's words speak for themselves," said Rev. Loyce Newton-Edwards, president of PFLAG's Oklahoma City chapter.  "The recording, which we made with her staff's consent, is irrefutable evidence that she did agree with us on employment non-discrimination; that she did agree to consider an ongoing dialogue with us; and that she did agree on some basic principles of fairness and equality.  It is beyond disappointing that she has now stepped away from those comments, and it is disheartening that she, as an elected leader, has attempted to disavow her own words."

I don't know if you can take 40 minutes of the Oklahoma bigot blathering, but Steve says that there are some interesting tidbits that await you, including a bit where the Oklahoma legislator talks about lesbians and golf. It's after the jump.

PFLAG to release tape of Sally Kern bearing false witness

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Apr 08, 2008 at 21:30:00 PM EDT

It's time to put on your happy dance shoes because Sally Kern, the scripture-quoting, homophobic Oklahoma legislator who declared homosexuality a greater threat than terrorism is going to be exposed as a spinning pious prevaricator tomorrow with the release of a recording of her recent meeting with PFLAG members. (PageOneQ):
On Wednesday, Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays will be releasing an audio recording of a March 27th meeting that took place between Oklahoma House Rep. Sally Kern and a group of Oklahoman PFLAG parents.

PFLAG has confirmed with PageOneQ that the recording, which was made with Kern's consent, will contradict her account of the discussion.

The meeting was arranged in the wake of Rep. Kern's controversial remarks about gays and lesbians at what she thought would be an off-the-record meeting exclusively for her supporters.  Afterwards, the organization's national office released statements that indicated the lawmaker believed no one should be fired for being gay or lesbian. Additionally, said PFLAG, Kern agreed to consider another meeting with PFLAG parents in her district. Following the accounts of the meetings, Kern denied two things: stating that she would mull another meeting, and saying that gay and lesbian workers should not be fired.

I can't wait; PFLAG is releasing the entire audio (40 minutes), so Kern can't deny it's an edited patch job.

Sally Kern's worst nightmare - gay donor$

by: Pam Spaulding

Fri Apr 04, 2008 at 23:30:00 PM EDT

All those damn gay donors funding The Homosexual Agenda. Sally Kern:
"Little by little, they're taking ground...Little by little. But they're doing it quietly - under the table. They're going into states where the races are close. They're putting in lots of money."
In one of her many rants, the bigoted Oklahoma legislator even name-checked eQualityGiving donors -- venture capitalist Rutt Bridges; founder of software giant Quark, Tim Gill, candidate for Congress Jared Polis,  and ally Pat Stryker, a medical equipment heiress. And they will continue to vex Kern.
"She doesn't know what she's up against," said Juan Ahonen-Jover, who helped start eQualityGiving. "The strategy is right on, and I think we should continue the strategy, even if it is, quote unquote, public."

Ahonen-Jover, whose eQuality Giving provides gay donors with advice and a forum to discuss politics and funding strategies, said no one has suggested altering the group's strategy in the aftermath of Kern's speech.

...Polis, an eQualityGiving member who is gay, said he didn't mind the reference.

"I'm proud to be called out by name for supporting equal rights and the equal rights agenda," he said. "So it's certainly a badge of honor that those on the other side feel that several of us are in some small way responsible for some of the advancements in equal rights over the last several years."

Go read the rest. Sally will have nightmares.

Bam Bam on the Rally for Sally

by: Pam Spaulding

Fri Apr 04, 2008 at 09:00:00 AM EDT

This egomaniacal fundie insanity was in my junkmail filter:
Matt Barber, CWA's Policy Director for Cultural Issues, said, "This astronomical show of support for Rep. Sally Kern today sends a strong message.  People with traditional values who value God's design for human sexuality will not be intimidated and bullied into silence.  Political correctness can never trump truth.  Sally Kern stood for truth, and she was hated for it.  She was persecuted for Christ, but the Body of Christ was there to lift her up.  Sally was faithful to God, and He was faithful to her in return.  This is a great day for all who love righteousness."

CWA of Oklahoma State Director Linda Caswell said, "This is an awesome experience.  We had a fantastic turnout and a fantastic message.  Rep. Kern and her husband spoke a message of forgiveness, redemption and hope through Jesus Christ.  This is a historic moment for Oklahoma."

The coverage in The Oklahoman included this modest assessment of the situation by Kern:
"I told the people when I was running for this office that I was a Christian candidate and that I believed we were in a cultural war for the very existence of our Judeo-Christian values," said Kern, who was elected to the House in 2004. "This situation proves that I was right. We are in a cultural war; this is for real."

..."This is not about me," Kern told those at the rally. "It's about the church having the right to speak out about the redeeming love of Jesus Christ who died to set us all free from our sins."

Kern's husband, the Rev. Steve Kern, said it wasn't the purpose of the rally to bash homosexuals. "We love them," said Rev. Kern, pastor of Olivet Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.

Wait aren't we "the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam?"

BTW, you have to check out the comments of "Rufus" on the Oklahoman web site.

Letter in defense of Sally Kern

by: Fritz

Thu Apr 03, 2008 at 20:44:21 PM EDT

In March, I posted a video response to Sally Kern on YouTube.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ws-...

The video has gotten close to 60,000 hits and quite a few nasty comments from anti-gay bigots. I have also received dozens of messages from those thanking me for using humor to point out the flaws in Kern's arguments.

However, I've also received a few hateful messages and a couple from people who consider themselves to be "good Christians" yet have no problem bearing false witness against their LGBT neighbors.

Today, I received the following:

From: drummergrl06

Sent: April 03, 2008

Subject: Sally Kern Video

Message: Okay, all that Sally Kern was trying to say was that the homosexuals are destroying our country from the inside where we can't fight it. Our nation is supposed to be a Christian nation, and sadly that has changed (not only because of homosexuals, so don't try to say I'm blaming it all on them) in the last century. We can protect ourselves from terrorists easier than we can from people attacking our hearts and beliefs. The average homosexual will have over 500 partners in their lifetime, and their life span is averaged at about 42 years old, so their mid-life crisis is at my young age of 21.

If you still believe what Sally said is not true, then you're not understanding the full context of what was said. It says in 1 Corinthians 6:9 that homosexuals (and others) will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. I don't know if you are a homosexual or not, but Sally does not claim to hate them, and neither do I. We love them. God teaches us to love our neighbors, no matter what decisions they choose. I love everybody around me, even the ones that have hurt me the most, because I know it's what God wants me to do, and I know that's what Sally wants. She was not trying to bash gays or anything like that, but she was speaking the truth. If you want me to, I can go talk to my youth pastor and get specific scriptures for you to reference. I have no problems with that; or if you want, you can research it online. I really hope that you can now better understand Sally Kern and what her words really meant. Have a great and blessed day! God Bless!

Here's my reply:

Thank you for writing.

I feel very sad that you believe the hateful lies of a few people who profess to be Christians. You don't realize it, but this is truly a test of your faith.

Personally, I know hundreds of gay and lesbian people. Most of them, like myself, are well over the age of 42. I certainly don't know anyone who has had over 500 sexual partners. Most of the gay and lesbian people I know are far less sexually active than the heterosexual people I know. It is simply more difficult for gay and lesbian people to find partners -- due to the law of numbers.

Like me, you can only gain knowledge through experience. You can't put your faith in the words of men. If you do so, you run the risk of supporting the unrighteous.

Exodus 23:1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

You must also take it upon yourself to study the Bible if you are to be a true Christian. Youth pastors have their role to guide young Christians. But, God gave you a reasoning mind. It could be that those who profess to have true knowledge are corrupt. God challenges us every day to question harshly the words of man -- and in this case Sally Kern. The Bible warns us again and again about those who wear the veil of righteousness.

The Bible has been translated from many languages. Corinthians was originally written in ancient Greek by God's emissary St. Paul.

Currently, the common English translation of Corinthians 6:9 reads:

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate [malakoi], nor homosexual offenders [arsenokoites], nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God."

I put the ancient Greek words malakoi and arsenokoites in brackets because they are Greek words that have very ambiguous meaning. However, we do know from ancient Greek texts that the Greeks did not use the words malakoi or arsenokoites to describe homosexual love. The terms malakoi and arsenokoites were probably used to describe boy prostitutes and men who rape other men.

The most common form of socially acceptable homosexual love in ancient Greece was that between an older man and a teenage boy. It was called paiderastia. The older man was called erastes. The teenage boy was called eromenos. These terms would have certainly been known to St. Paul. If he'd intended to condemn the practice of paiderastia, he would have used that common term. Paiderastia was common practice in Corinth at the time.
Yet, there is no letter to the Corinthians about paiderastia. What does that tell you? Certainly not that such practices should be considered morally acceptable. But, it wasn't a main concern for the early Church.

Now, consider the common modern translation of malakoi and arsenokoites -- effeminate and homosexual offenders. What did that mean to the monks who translated from the ancient Greek 1700 years ago? In 382 AD, there was no English word for homosexual love. This must have presented the monks with quite a problem. What would you have done? Invent new words? Use the closest English words available?

Regardless, you and Sally Kern are repeating untruths -- things of which you have no first hand knowledge and are presenting as proven fact.

Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

I have seen no proof that the "Homosexual Agenda" described by Kern exists. Knowing how diverse and unorganized the various gay rights groups throughout the U.S. are, I would find it very difficult to believe that there is any conspiracy underfoot.

This is what the Bible means by "bearing false witness." God commands us not to bear false witness against our neighbor many times throughout the Bible. In fact, it is one of the Ten Commandments.

You, Sally Kern, and many otherwise good people are certainly breaking one of God's Commandments by being a false witness. The Bible couldn't be more clear on this subject.

Proverbs 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

It is easy to end a letter full of false testimony with "God Bless!" It is much more difficult to seek the truth and be yourself blessed.

Seek the truth. Make yourself worthy of God's blessings. Then, you will be saved.

Lesson from the Sally Kern controversy - Know your legislators and make sure they know you

by: Alvin McEwen

Wed Apr 02, 2008 at 19:27:11 PM EDT

(NOTE FROM PAM: If you surf over to the pro-Sally Kern Destiny Christian Blog, you can see photos of the rally along with this precious description: "The event was tastefully and lovingly approached with Sally and her husband offering forgiveness to all who have been so cruel. A former homosexual shared his testimony and thanked everybody for their assistance in helping others to leave this very damaging and dangerous lifestyle." H/t, NG)

The Associated Press is reporting that over 1,000 people showed up for the pro-Sally Kern rally. It doesn't surprise me.

The first rally, held in opposition of her remarks, was a bit more spontaneous and featured mostly constituents who were concerned with how an elected official was demonizing them.

This recent one was no doubt more planned to the last detail - from the groups bussed in to the guest speakers, to the pro-Kern banner, to the press releases (that were probably written before the rally took place) and pictures that are now making their way through the blogosphere. And I noticed that Kern just happened to make an appearance at this rally.

Profile of Ron Marlett, the man seeking to unseat Sally Kern

by: Pam Spaulding

Wed Apr 02, 2008 at 14:30:00 PM EDT

Oklahoma native Ron Marlett is running to unseat lip-flapping homophobe Sally Kern in the 84th district. There is a good profile of him up at the Urban Tulsa Weekly. A snippet:
Ron Marlett said he's running for state Rep. Sally Kern's seat in the Legislature, first and foremost, out of concern for the needs of his district.

But, the recent controversy over her infamous anti-gay comments didn't hurt at all. In fact, as Marlett tells it, the controversy provided the spark that ignited his candidacy. "It was an energizing moment," the 59-year-old Oklahoma City social worker told UTW about the influence the Kern Controversy had on his decision.

"When I heard those statements, I told my family then and there my decision to run," he added.

...Marlett said her comments, and the controversy surrounding them, made him "realize the strength, and the damage involved in extreme statements like that," especially from someone in Kern's position.

Marlett also homed-in on another Kern statement found in the YouTube posting that "not everybody's lifestyle is equal, just like not all religions are created equal."

"She can believe that in her church, but as an elected representative, she is called on to represent people of all faiths, and I will represent people of all faiths," said Marlett. He commented that Kern comes from "a very conservative branch of Christianity" and that "all of her bills are related to religion."

By the way, has anyone seen any reports on the Sally Rally at the state capitol today? A short AP report said that there were 1,000 people there (probably most bused in to support the bigoted lawmaker). Check out some of the comments at that report below the fold.

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Apr 01, 2008 at 11:00:00 AM EDT

Oh fun, fun, fun. Look at what landed in my inbox from Matt "Bam Bam" Barber of Concerned Women for America - they are shipping in fundies to support Sally Kern:
Free Speech Rally for Sally
Over 50 Pastors organize rally to support besieged
Oklahoma Rep. Sally Kern

DATE:      Wednesday, April 2
TIME:       12:00pm Noon
WHERE:  Rotunda of the Oklahoma State Building
2300 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City Oklahoma

Washington, D.C. - On Wednesday, April 2, Concerned Women for America (CWA) will join over 50 pastors in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to rally support for State Representative Sally Kern (R-Oklahoma City) and her right to free speech.  Recently, Rep. Kern has been under attack from radical homosexual activists and their followers over remarks she made regarding the homosexual agenda.  Rep. Kern took a Biblical stand against homosexual activism and has refused to back down from her statements despite receiving death threats.

By, the way, Matt, a new copy of The Homosexual Agenda has been distributed. Please update your files.

The bleating continues below the fold.
